"Oh Chris, that's pretty tricky with you two. I'm sorry, I wish you guys could get it straightened out." Bonnie placed a hand on Chris's. She could really feel for her friend. Most of all, Bonnie was sorry that Chris felt bad about Molly and blamed herself in some ways, but she could remedy that.

"Listen Chris, maybe you'll feel a little better if you know something." Bonnie pretended to be mysterious. Chris raised an eyebrow.
"What's the matter Bonnie? What do you know that I don't?"
"Well, Molly really sucked after Street broke up with her and she suffered terribly. Many evenings she sat with Tan and me and cried her eyes out. She just didn't understand, none of us did. His saying he didn't love her the way she deserved was just stupid." Chris looked sadly at Bonnie and just nodded his head.
"Bonnie you can't imagine how mad I was and actually still am at Street."
"Chris, listen to me, maybe it will lower your anger towards Street a little bit in a minute. I know something that no one is supposed to know yet, but because it's you and I know I can trust you, I'm telling you." Bonnie looked at Chris with a sly smile. "So a secret, as it were?" concluded Chris. Bonnie nodded.

"Molly is doing better than she has in a long time. She's so happy and has been in a new relationship for four months. His name is Ethan and he's a prosecutor. He looks smoking hot and I got to meet him briefly once, but, um, that was rather awkward." Chris's expression brightened a bit and a soft smile was on her lips.
"Tell me." now she was tense.
"Well, I have Molly's house keys just in case and that night she was supposed to still be in Pittsburgh on business and I was going to empty the mailbox and water the flowers. Well, when I got to the apartment they were both there, on the sofa, naked and in a clear position." Bonnie was now laughing out loud.
"Oh God, that's awkward." Chris also had to laugh now and held his hands in front of his face for a moment.
"You see Chris, you don't have to blame yourself or anything. Molly never blamed you, by the way. She likes you very much and she had guessed that Street had feelings for you." Chris was a little calmer now, even though she was still angry at Street...

Tan and Street also came back into the restaurant. Chris saw Street's sad look and guessed that he had been talking to Tan about her. It made her feel insanely uncomfortable. After the meal was finished, all four of them went out the door. Bonnie took Tan's hand in hers and squeezed it. After everyone said goodbye to each other, Chris and Street stood next to each other in silence. Street was about to start walking, but Chris stopped him.
"Street, I, um, can we talk?" she asked, stuttering. He thought he had misheard, but she looked at him expectantly.
"Yeah, sure. Here?"
"No, let's go to the park across the street, we can sit on the bench there." Chris just walked off hoping Street would follow her.

When they arrived they both took a seat, as far apart as the bench would allow. Chris sighed and her jaw tightened a little. '
"It's about Molly." she looked at him cautiously to wait for his reaction. Street didn't look too pleased, but continued to remain silent. "She has a new partner, she seems very happy," Chris continued.
"Why are you telling me this Chris?" Street was confused.
"Well, I had a feeling you weren't really feeling well the night she showed up at Bonnie and Tan's and you had been blaming yourself. I thought that maybe with the info you wouldn't feel quite so guilty..." again she looked at Street.
"Wow, me, I wasn't expecting that now, but I'm really happy for Molly. She deserved it after the way I treated her." he looked down at the ground, ashamed.
"Yeah, you were a complete moron and I'm still really mad at you Street." He looked at Chris and seemed at a loss.
"I'm so sorry Chris for slamming my feelings in your face like that, I know our situation is impossible and oh shit. I'm just sorry, ok?" he put his hands in his lap. Chris was angry, yes, but now she also felt sorry for him and that's exactly what she didn't want to have. What was she supposed to do now? Her friendship with him was very important to her, but would that work?

"Listen Street. Our friendship is really important to me, you know that, but I can't just forget everything you screwed up. Why the hell did you have to tell Molly you were breaking up with her because you didn't love her like she deserved?" Chris was angry again just thinking about it.
"I told her that because it's true. Very simple." said Street seriously.
"No, not very simple Street. You're making it pretty easy on yourself." Chris wanted to continue, but Street interrupted.
"Would it have been better if I had told Molly I couldn't be with her because I love you, huh?" now he was angry, too. He didn't want to be solely blamed for everything here. Chris wanted to counter, but the words stuck in her throat. What had he just said? He loves her? She had never heard it out of his mouth like that before and it gave her goosebumps. He loves her.
"Street, I, I don't know exactly what to say right now, but we are so far from being able to have a normal friendship right now and it's weighing on me." Chris admitted. "Chris, you don't believe me? I miss you. I miss everything about our friendship. You're so distanced towards me, sometimes I feel like you hate me." he lowered his head and looked sad.

Chris took a deep breath.
"No, I don't hate you, I never could, but you have a lot to make up for and you know it. First of all, you really need to talk to Molly." she looked him in the eye and Street saw how serious Chris was.
"I will as soon as she gets back from Pittsburgh, I promise. It's important to me, too. But can you forgive me sometime?" he looked at her hopefully.
"Yes. But please give me time, and most importantly, don't do any crap again, okay? Let's plan the wedding and try to get normalcy back in our relationship, okay?" a slight smile crept onto Street's lips. He held out his right hand to Chris.
"Deal." Chris couldn't help but shake her head and had to smile too.
"I'm serious Street." she still said to give more emphasis to her statement.
