"Welcome to Bread and Butter."

Mai greeted the person who entered the bakery /coffee shop that she's been working at.

The woman who just entered along with a little girl on her side smiled at her and greeted back. Winter is coming so most likely it's one of the busiest seasons for her, well at least when it came to working in which she's thankful. Aside from the fact that her employer is generous enough when it comes to her salary, she can also take some bread free when her shift is done.

Mai takes the small basket and handed it to her costumer so that they can choose the kind of bread and pastry that they like.

Bread and Butter are just one of the two jobs that she has. The other one is being a child care worker at an orphanage that John recommended for her. Although having a regular job on weekdays and another at weekends plus the school, Mai's daily living revolves just around it. School, and work. Especially that SPR is no longer around.

How long has it been?

Two years? And yet, it seems like it's just yesterday.

Shibuya Kazuya or Oliver Davis to her surprise left without a word of even goodbye when they finally retrieve his brother's missing body. All those times when they have cases and she's been dreaming or astral projecting..the guy whom she believes is Naru happens to be his twin brother Gene who acted as her spirit guide from the realm of spirits of the dead.

She also found out that Naru just opens SPR in order to get information about Gene's death. And since they manage to solve that case, and retrieve his body, it seems like SPR has no longer useful to him. Or at least that's what she thought and it really saddens her.

More importantly, the way that they last talk didn't end well.
