After the fire department also freed Luca and Street, all three were taken to the hospital. Chris had the metal shard removed under local anesthesia and none had to stay there.
"Ehm Luca, I'm going to stay with Chris tonight so she has some support because of her leg." Street hoped Luca wouldn't ask any questions, at least not yet.
"Ok, that's good. She shouldn't be alone tonight." They said their goodbyes and everyone went home.

Chris lay down on the sofa when the two arrived at her place. She was pretty beat up and still had a decent amount of pain in her leg.
"God, it was a shitty day today. Luckily Rocker and his team were able to catch those guys." Chris said with relief. Touching her leg, Street could tell by the look on her face that she was in pain. He ran to the kitchen and came back with a glass of water and a pill.
"Here, the doctor gave me these." he sat down next to her and put her legs over his thighs.
"Thanks." Chris took the pill and lay back in the pillows.
"I'm so glad nothing worse happened to you Chris." Street looked at her seriously and full of concern.
"Hey, everything is fine, it's just my leg, you don't have to worry." she stroked his arm. "Come here." she opened her arms and Street laid his head on her chest while she stroked his hair.
"I love you Chris." She had to smile.
"I know and I love you too."

A few months later, everything was back to normal. The team was complete again and Chris and Street were still very happy together. They had found their rhythm and everyday life was no problem for the two of them. They knew that Luca suspected something. Again and again he looked over to the two and grinned and also his sayings when the three were among themselves were more than clear. The two had decided that Luca would be the first to know about their relationship. Over pizza and beer, they had told him and Luca, as expected, had been totally happy for his friends.

A few days later Chris and Street were together with Luca in the kitchen at HQ.
"Don't worry so much, you two. Hondo is not a monster and I'm sure he'll be happy for you." Luca had to grin, because Chris and Street stood in front of him like two schoolchildren who had done something wrong. Especially Chris was very nervous after all and was afraid of Hondo's reaction to the news they were together now.
"Luca, thank you really. Thank you for going to Hondo in advance and checking before we get to it." Street looked relieved. Hewas worried too, but not as much as his girlfriend.

Street looked over at Chris, she had been quiet the whole time and he knew exactly what was going through her mind at that moment. He took her hand in his and squeezed it. Chris looked at him in response and smiled softly, but in reality she felt more like running away, but she didn't want to do that anymore. Chris wanted everyone to know that Street and her were together and happy.
"We can do this together." she said, more to encourage herself, looking Street in the eye. He nodded and squeezed her hand again.
"You two are so cute together, it almost melts my heart." For this comment Luca earned two played angry looks. Apologetically he raised his hands and laughed and not a second later Chris and Street joined in.

"So you two lovebirds. As much as I'd like to be here with you, I'm going to go to Hondo and bring the subject up to you slowly. You can follow in about 10 minutes, ok?" Luca seemed totally motivated and somehow he was looking forward to the conversation with Hondo.
"All right," came the chorus from Chris and Street. After Luca walked out, Chris leaned on Street's shoulder.
"I hope everything goes as planned and we don't have to hide after this anymore." Chris sighed. Street held her by both shoulders, making her look at him.
"Don't worry about anything. Everything's going to be fine. It's Luca, he'll be fine." he smiled at Chris and gave her a tender kiss, which Chris nodded into.

"Yo Hondo, what are you doing?" Luca walked over to him and looked over his shoulder. Hondo had a brochure in his hand.
"Hey Luca, good you just got here. I'm looking for a birthday surprise for my Pap and I was thinking of giving him a ride in a classic car. What do you think?" Hondo looked at him, waiting.
"I think that's a great idea. Your dad loves old cars and this way you can also spend a great day together." Luca briefly looked at the brochure and immediately tapped his finger on a particular car. "This is the one you should pick. Great driving experience, nice horsepower and it's a convertible." Luca almost went into raptures.
"Thank you man. I'll call right over there." replied Hondo.
"Ehm boss wait a minute. I wanted to discuss something with you." Luca was getting a little nervous now. Hondo looked at him questioningly. "Have you noticed that Chris and Street have been spending an extraordinary amount of time together lately? So I mean, well, they seem even more familiar than usual. What do you think?" Luca looked at Hondo with a wait-and-see attitude. Hondo couldn't help but grin widely.
"You know buddy, I may not be the youngest anymore, but I'm not stupid. I've been watching those two for a few weeks now and they can hide it no matter how well, but I'm sure there's something going on. Am I right Luca?" Luca was shocked. He swallowed and searched for words.
"I, ehm. Oh man, yes I know it already from the beginning, but I had to promise not to reveal anything. Hondo, I hope you understand those two. They wanted to wait a little bit to see how it goes before they make it public. And - " but Luca didn't get any further. Hondo raised his hand.
"Hey, I'm not a monster, and I thought something like that. I just hope they say it soon." Now Luca was relieved and grinned.
"They're coming right now." he whispered suddenly, as Chris and Street were already in sight.
"Aha, that was a plan of yours, um?" Hondo had to grin. "Well then I'll play a game too." he winked at Luca.
"Don't be too stern with them ok?" Luca was satisfied and nodded to the two lovers.
