GH4 19: Mystery Solved.
(Nan Vernon: Love Hurts)
Love Hurts
Love scars
Love wounds and
Marks
any heart
A male police officer named officer John Smith led Olive, Justin, Max and me, holding the 90s cellphone, out from around the farm-house where we saw several police cars parked on the property, with their top-lights flashing and male and female officers patrolling the scene. After i had rescued the boys from the marsh-pit, officer Smith arrived at the scene, introduced himself, and informed us that he'd responded to my 911 call.
DJ, Snoop-D, Hip-hop and R-K all had their hands cuffed behind their backs, as officer Smith informed us that he and the other cops had arrested them when they had ran out from around the house.
not tough, not strong
enough
to take a lot of pain,
to take a lot of pain
Two male officers put DJ and Snoop-D in the back of their police car while two other cops, a man and a woman, placed Hip-Hop and R-K in the back of their police car. Officer Smith led us over to a female officer wielding a pen and note-pad and left us with her while he went to his police car to radio in the arrests and rescues, as well as two ambulances for the bodies of Brendyn and Bobby, which i had suggested after telling him about their bodies being in the marsh-pit.
Justin, Max and i each started giving our statements to the female officer as she wrote down what we were saying on her note-pad. I also gave a statement that i believed DJ and his gang had turned off the power at Justin's place by messing with the fuse-box outside in the back of the house.
Love is like a cloud,
holds a lot of rain
Love hurts.
Ooooh, Love
hurts
The two ambulances soon arrived at the scene along with a News van, with the two hospital vehicles' light's flashing, and they parked. Male paramedics got out of the back of the vehicles, with two pairs of them carrying black body-bags, and they all ran to the back of the farm-house to head into the marsh to retrieve the bodies. Meanwhile, a female News reporter, with a wireless microphone, exited the News van with the camera-man, who was carrying the camera, ready to do a report on the ordeal.
I'm young
i know,
but even so
i know a thing or two
I've learned from you
I've rally learned a lot,
really learned a lot
In the marsh, the four paramedics fished the bodies of Brendyn and Bobby out of the marsh-pit and placed them inside the body-bags, followed by zipping them closed. Two of the paramedics picked up the body-bags and they and the rest of the other two headed back for the ambulances.
Love is like a flame, it
burns you when it's hot
Love birds
Ooooh, Love
birds.
The female News reporter, meanwhile, stood in front of the camera the camera-man was holding and was giving a report on what had happened as paramedics came from around the house, with two of them carrying the body-bags containing the bodies of Brendyn and Bobby.
Some fools think of
happiness,
blissfulness,
togetherness
The paramedics went over to back of the ambulances and the two paramedics carrying the body-bags placed them on gurneys inside, followed by the group getting inside the ambulances themselves, then closing the double-doors to both vehicles, and the ambulances drove off, heading for the hospital.
Some fools fool themselves, i guess, but
they're not foolin' me
I know it isn't true
No, it
isn't true
Officer Smith came over to us, led us over to his police car, and opened the door, allowing me, Olive, Justin and Max to get inside, followed by closing the door. He then got in the driver's side, backed up, and then left the farm-house property, heading for the hospital.
Love is just a lie learn to
make you blue
Love hurts
Ooooh, Love
hurts
Ooooh, Love
hurts
We later arrived at the hospital and rushed inside through the glass double-doors that opened automatically, with officer Smith at our side. He ran up to a male doctor and asked him to check Justin and Max out and make sure they didn't have any serious injuries of any kind. The doctor came over where we were and led Justin and Max off with him. I, with Olive following, went over to one of the seats in the waiting-room and sat down in it.
As i sat, i stared at the 90s cellphone. The whole reason i ended up here in this period in the first place. With help from a lightning-bolt, that is. But it wasn't like i had taken it for keeps. The only reason i took this phone was to do a history project on the 1990s decade. And boy, did i learn all i needed to know. I got way more than i'd bargained for though. I had only had this phone for an entire day and it had caused me more trouble than i could handle. But at least four good things came out of this nightmare.
I learned about the 90s...i solved the mystery of the two missing boys...their killers had been caught and were going to prison...they're bodies had been found...and i managed to rescue Justin and Max. Those were all good things to be proud of. No questions asked. But there was still one question that needed answering.
How were Olive and i gonna get back home to 2024?
I know it isn't true
I know it isn't true
Love is just a lie learn to make you blue
Love hurts
Ooooh, Love hurts
Ooooh, Love hurts
Ooooh, Love Hurts.

Later, Justin, Max, officer Smith, Olive and i were inside the morgue with Mr. Keeble and Max's parents, who had been called by the hospital to meet us here. Justin and Max wore black flip-flops that had been given to them by nurses. Resting on two treys outside of their open mortuary freezer boxes were the nude, gray-skinned, marsh-goo-covered bodies of Brendyn and Bobby, with white sheets that had been pulled down to their hips. The autopsies hadn't been done yet, so the male morgue doctor decided to give us some time to view the bodies before he got started.
"And when Olive and i followed the truck out into the countryside to a farm-house and into a marsh, the guys who kidnapped Justin and Max confessed to them that they had killed the Norman kid and Brendyn. Bobby Norman's death was an accident, but DJ killed Brendyn to keep him from snitching on him and the others. Then when they pushed Justin and Max into the marsh-pit and fled, the bodies of Brendyn and Bobby popped up, and that's how i knew that was where those guys had stashed them last Halloween. That was when officer Smith and the other cops arrived and arrested those goons, found us, and fished the bodies out of the marsh-pit." I explained, telling the story of how Olive and i solved this mystery.
"So then what about the boys' families?" Mr. Keeble asked.
"The police will track them down and have the bodies released into their custody for funerals and burials...so that they can finally be at peace." Officer Smith answered.
"Cool story, Charlotte. You and Olive saved our son and Mr. Keeble's too." Said Mr. Nipper.
"And you helped find the two missing boys who disappeared last Halloween. Nice job." Mrs. Nipper added.
"Thanks." I said. My eyes then glowed gold and i began to have a vision.
/
Montana
October 31st, Halloween-(1993)
In the vision, DJ, Snoop-D, Hip-hop and R-K are walking through the marsh of the abandoned farm-house property, with Hip-hop carrying the body of Bobby in the sheets and cover of his bed, R-K carrying the potato sack of empty jars that once held the bugs, and Snoop-D carrying Brendyn bridal style, with DJ carrying a long walking-stick. The bugs, meanwhile, had all taken refuge inside of Bobby and Brendyn's bodies.
After the murders at the Norman residence, the group gathered up the bodies and the jars, deciding to dispose of them.
The group soon came to a stop when they reached the gritty, mud-like marsh-pit, and DJ stuck the stick down deep into it, realizing it was bottomless before taking the stick out of the marsh-pit.
Hip-hop tossed Bobby on his back in the pit with his sheets and cover and the group watched as the insects began exiting the kid's body through his mouth, nose and ears and began crawling all over him while he was slowly sucked down into the pit as it made sick churning sounds, with the 11-year old's head being the last part of him to be sucked down.
Snoop-D then placed Brendyn on his back in the marsh-pit and it churned as the bugs exited his body through his mouth, nose and ears and crawled all over him as it sucked him down into it.
R-K then tossed the sack of empty jars into the marsh-pit and it churned as it sucked the sack down.

My eyes stopped glowing gold and returned to their normal brown color once the vision was over.
Two visions from the past in one night.
That had to be some kind of record.
The male morgue doctor opened the door and entered inside the room. "Excuse me, everyone? I have to get started."
"Who are you gonna do the autopsy on first?" Justin asked.
"Bobby. I'll keep Brendyn in his freezer-box 'til i'm done with the Norman kid. Once i'm done with Bobby, i'll get started on him." Said the morgue doctor.
"Alright." Justin said.
"Come on. Let's get out of here." Mr. Keeble said before he and the rest of us left out of the morgue, with officer Smith closing the door afterwards.
"Officer Smith?" Justin asked.
"Yeah?" Officer Smith asked.
"Can i ask you a question?" Justin asked.
"Fire away." Officer Smith answered.
"How come Brendyn and Bobby's bodies weren't skeletons when we found them in the marsh? I mean, they had been in there for over a year, they should've been nothing but bones with hair and clothes attached. But instead, their skin had just turned gray. Why is that?" Justin said.
"Honestly...i think it was the marsh." Officer Smith said.
"The marsh? Why?" Justin asked.
"Well, you see, marshes are similar to bogs. See, bogs can preserve human bodies in great detail due to their low oxygen and high acidity. Instead of reducing their bodies to skeletons, the marsh-pit they were in altered the color of their skin and preserved them." Officer Smith explained.
"Oh, i see." Justin said.
"Makes sense." Max added.
"Officer Smith?" I asked.
"Yes?" Officer Smith asked.
"May i ask a favor of you?" I asked.
"Sure, honey, what do you need?" Officer Smith said.
"Could you send some of your cop-friends back out to the farm-house to check the marsh-pit and see if there's any more evidence? I mean, i know you have the bodies and everything-which is the mother of all evidence-and i know it's not my place to ask such a thing, but every bit of evidence counts when you're trying to put someone away for murder. Especially when that someone is more than one person and there's more than one murder victim. I said. I knew from what i had seen in my vision that Bobby's sheets and cover and that sack of jars were still in that marsh-pit and i knew that they would serve as great evidence in court against the killers.
"I couldn't agree with you more. I'll head outside to my car and radio your request to some of the officers right away." Officer Smith said.
"Great. And thank you." I said.
"You're welcome." Officer Smith said before he walked off to head outside to his police car and radio in my request to other officers.
"I'm sorry, Max." Justin said.
"For what?" Max asked.
"For not telling you that i was friends with Brendyn. It's just that i was dealing with so much grief when my Mom died in 1992, i couldn't handle the disappearance of Brendyn in 1993. It was easier not to talk about it and act like it never happened than to acknowledge that it did. I'm sorry." Justin explained.
"I'm confused. Haven't you and Max known each other since the first grade?" I said.
"Since the first grade? Charlotte, Max and i have only known each other since June of this year." Justin said.
"Since June of this year?" I asked.
"Mm-hm. You see, my parents and i are originally from Indiana. But we moved here to Montana last year in March 4th when my Dad got transferred." Max explained.
"Oh. Well...that makes sense, i guess." I said.
"Okay, everyone, let's get these two boys home, showered, changed into a new set of pajamas, and in bed." Mr. Keeble said.
"I'm all for that." Max said.
"Wait. Can i have a few minutes alone with Charlotte and Olive before we go? Please?" Justin said.
"Sure. Take all the time you need. We'll be down the hall in the waiting-room." Said Mr. Keeble before he, Max and his parents walked down the hallway, leaving me and Olive alone with Justin.
Justin and i looked at each other.
"Hey." Justin said.
"Hey." I said.
"I'm sorry for not telling you about Brendyn and that he and i were friends before he went mis-I mean...before he died." Justin said.
"It's okay. You were just dealing with the loss of your friend the best way you knew how. I don't blame you, i would've done the same thing if it were one of my friends." I said.
"Thanks for being understanding." Justin said.
"Don't mention it." I said.
"You know...my Dad was asking me earlier today at school how i thought i was holding up over my Mom's death." Justin said.
"And?" I asked.
"I didn't say much...but if he were to ask me again...i'd tell him i'm doing A-okay. Because i am." Justin said.
"I'll bet you are." I said.
"I think about her a lot, you know. My Mom, i mean." Justin said.
"So do you still think i made it all up? About the phone-calls from Brendyn and the brief encounters with his and Bobby's ghost, i mean." I said.
"Charlotte...i can't explain what happened...but i no longer doubt that it did. And whatever happened...you did a really nice thing here." Justin said.
"Thanks." I said.
Just then, the sound of thunder could be heard from outside.
Wait a minute.
Thunder?
"Sounds like a storm is trying to come. We better go meet up with the others and get home right away." Justin said before he, Olive and i began walking down the hall.
Olive and i then stopped and turned to see the decomposing, gray-skinned, white-eyed ghosts of Brendyn and Bobby, with them still standing in the bugs and the bugs crawling all over them.
A yellow-gold beam of light came through the ceiling, shined down on Bobby, and sucked him up through the ceiling before disappearing.
"Thank you." Brendyn said before a yellow-gold beam of light came through the ceiling, shined down on him, followed by sucking the 12-year old up through the ceiling and then blinking out.
A lightning-bolt came through the ceiling and struck the 90s cellphone i was holding.
Realizing what was happening, i picked up Olive and held onto her as we were sucked into the 90s cellphone, followed by the phone itself disappearing.
