Letter sent to Henry Philip Everts from Margaret Abigail Everts

Brother,

It appears that the situation has gotten a bit too dangerous. Far too dangerous for us to continue our mission. I believe that the time has come to cut our mission short. After careful consideration, it is my belief that despite our careful planning and strategizing, this mission was a failure. We were unable to halt any bloodshed and bring back the peace that had been long sought after these past three years. I pray that after this, then maybe the war can be brought to an end. Let us just leave. Please rendezvous with me at the Union Lines so that we may leave the fighting to those who are in the light.

I am begging, Henry. Buster Kilrain has been killed. Lionel has found out the truth.

I'm ready to leave.

Your sister, Margaret.
