Hey everyone! Hopefully your week's been good so far. So I know that some of you may have skipped over the previous chapter due to the disclaimer at the top, so I thought I'd just go over the key points so you aren't completely confused.
Basically, Kurt turned eighteen and received a tape that his mother made him before she died. In the tape she pretty much told him how proud she was of him and that he was going to do great things. Blaine also got him a gift which turned out to be a promise ring! Him and Kurt also gave up their virginity to one another, and Rachel and Finn are having a little bit of trouble in paradise.
Anyway, that's about it! This chapter doesn't contain anything worthy of a disclaimer, but there is a slight mention of nude photos near the end. Other then that there's nothing too questionable.
As always:

Enjoy!
Kurt's heart was pounding in his ears. He stood in the middle of the hallway, envelope in hand. He knew that this moment would affect his whole future, and a part of him almost didn't want to open it.
"Come on, you can't hesitate forever." Rachel said with a smile. "Let's open them together on the count of three."
Kurt nodded, still as stone. "Okay, three... two... one!"
Both friends ripped open their envelopes, pulling out the paper inside. Rachel let out a squeal, jumping up and down. "I got in! I got in!"
"You did?" Kurt was jumping up and down with her. "That's amazing Rachel."
Rachel paused, concern in her eyes. "Did you not make it?"
"I haven't looked, I'm way too nervous." Kurt confessed.
"You have to open it, come on!" Rachel pleaded, hanging onto his arm like a leech.
Kurt let out a nervous laugh. "I've kind of missed having you around, even though you do annoy me most of the time you're over here. I'm glad you and Finn got back together."
"Ugh, me too. I was nervous we never would." Rachel snapped out of her lovesick trance quickly, turning back to Kurt. "Stop trying to change the subject! Just open it already!"
"Okay, fine." Kurt slowly unfolded the paper, nerves eating away at him. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. Finally he looked. He immediately gave a sigh of relief.
"Well?" Rachel asked, trying to peek over his shoulder.
"I made it in!" Kurt exclaimed.
"Ahh! I can't believe we're going to Juilliard!" Rachel was screaming now, clapping her hands with excitement.
"What's all the noise about?" Carole asked, coming out of her bedroom.
"Oh my gosh, were you asleep? We didn't mean to wake you." Kurt suddenly felt guilty.
Carole laughed. "No, I was just resting. Now, tell me what's going on!"
Rachel was barely able to stand still as she spoke. "Kurt and I got into Juilliard! We just got our acceptance letters!"
Carole's face lit up. "You did? That's such great news! We need to go out and celebrate, how does pizza sound?"
Kurt awkwardly rocked back and forth on his heels. "I'd love to, but I kind of was hoping to go tell Blaine. He made me promise to let him know immediately. Could we do pizza tomorrow night instead?"
"Of course we can. And don't worry, I won't tell your father." Carole winked, heading towards the kitchen.
"Speaking of telling people, I should go tell my dads! Maybe I'll stop by McKinley to tell Finn too, I'm sure he wouldn't mind being pulled out of football practice for a few minutes." Rachel rambled, stumbling to the door in her excitement. "I'll see you later!"
"See you!" Kurt called after her. As soon as she was gone he pulled on a pair of shoes. In all of his excitement he barely looked at them- so what if they matched his outfit? "I'll be back soon!" He called, grabbing the keys before running to the car, quickly starting it. He was almost too giddy to drive, and at one point was inches away from taking down one of their neighbor's mailboxes. When he finally got to Blaine's he practically sprinted up the steps, knocking loudly on the door.
Blaine opened it after a few minutes, soda in hand. "Kurt? What's going on?"
"I got in!" Kurt blurted. "I'm going to Juilliard!"
Blaine threw himself at his boyfriend, embracing him for what seemed like forever. "I'm so proud of you, that's a huge accomplishment! I'm going to miss you like crazy."
"I'll miss you more. But hey, at least you'll still have glee club when I'm gone. And we can FaceTime every night." Kurt babbled, face flushed.
Blaine chuckled. "Yeah, I know. It won't be the same though."
"I'll be home for Christmas break. And again for spring." Kurt assured him. "We can hang out all day once I get back if you want to. And who knows, maybe you'll join me there in a year."
"I hope so. And you're right, we'll be okay." Blaine smiled warmly, taking Kurt by the hand. "Nice ring."
Kurt rolled his eyes. "Thanks, someone gave it to me a couple months ago and I still haven't taken it off."
Blaine smirked. "I'm glad you haven't. Wanna go grab something to eat?"
"I'd love that."
"And you have extra sheets, in case it gets cold?" Burt asked nervously.
"Yes, Dad. I made sure to pack everything." Kurt loaded another box into the car, taking his dad by the hand. "I'll be fine. It's only three months. Besides, I'll have Rachel there with me."
Burt nodded. "I know. I'm just going to miss you a lot."
"I'll miss you too." Kurt gave his father a hug before stepping back, fanning at his eyes. "Don't make me cry already, we still have a long drive."
Burt laughed, wiping at his own tears. "I know. I'm so proud of you."
Kurt smiled. "Thanks. Can you finish loading these into the trunk? I have some people to say goodbye to."
"Sure. But be back here in twenty minutes, we need to go soon."
Kurt took Carole's car, stopping first to say goodbye to Mercedes.
"I'll miss you so much, Kurt. I can't believe we're about to leave for college." Mercedes sniffled, eyes wet. "You need to call me at least once a week."
"I will, don't worry! I'm sure I'll call you way more than that anyway- I might need help choosing what to wear." Kurt hugged her again. "Good luck at USC. I can't wait to hear all about it during Christmas break."
"And I can't wait to hear all about Juilliard." Mercedes smiled, tears running down her face. "Goodbye, Kurt."
"Goodbye." Kurt headed back to the car. He was dreading going over to Blaine's, but he knew he needed to. Besides, they'd still keep in touch while he was away, he was sure of it.
Blaine opened the door before Kurt could even knock, eyes red. He hugged his boyfriend tightly, neither one of them wanting to let go. "I'll miss you so much." He whispered.
"I'll miss you more." Kurt kissed him lovingly. "Keep Dalton alive with your gorgeous voice when I'm gone, okay?"
Blaine nodded. "I will. Kurt, I really don't want to say goodbye."
"This isn't goodbye. Just because I'm miles away doesn't mean anything." Kurt held up his hand, ring glistening in the sun. "And I have this gorgeous piece of jewelry to remind me of you all day long."
"I can't wait for winter break." Blaine whined. "It's months away, how will I survive?"
"I told you, we'll talk every night." Kurt lowered his voice. "And we'll send nudes. Lots of nudes."
Blaine laughed through his tears. "How do you manage to make things so lighthearted? Aren't we supposed to be sobbing right now?"
"I actually think we're supposed to be kissing." Kurt flirted. Just as they were starting to get into it a car honked behind them, making them both jump.
"We're going to be late!" Burt called from the car. "Finish up!"
Kurt sighed. "I guess this is it. I'll call you the second I get there."
Blaine nodded. "I'll keep my phone on. Oh, and let me know how your roommate is."
"I will." Kurt kissed him once more. "See you in three months."
"See you then."
Kurt climbed into the back of the car, eyes not leaving Blaine's until they turned the corner.
"I guess this is it." Burt scanned the dorm room, looking for anything that might be out of place that would give him an excuse to stay longer.
Kurt nodded. "I guess so. Thanks for helping me set everything up, you guys are lifesavers."
"Of course." Carole dabbed at her eyes with a napkin. "We sure will miss you around the house."
"I'll miss you guys too. I promise to keep in touch." Kurt smiled sadly at his parents. "I'll see you guys soon."
Burt gave his son one last hug. "Have fun." He stood, taking his wife by the hand.
Kurt watched them go, heart pounding like crazy. He was in college now. College. It felt too crazy to be true. He barely noticed how nervous he was until he unknowingly began to fiddle with the ring on his finger. He looked down at it, a small smile on his face. He knew he would be okay.
Just as he was about to head to the cafeteria someone entered the room, dropping a pile of boxes on the ground. "Hey, you must be my roommate."
Kurt's head snapped up at the unknown voice. He found himself face to face with a boy only slightly taller than he was. The stranger was dressed in a faded T-shirt and Jean shorts, and on his feet he wore a pair of birkenstocks. His blonde hair was shaggy and was about long enough to pull back into a ponytail, but just barely. His dark brown eyes seemed friendly as he held out a hand. "My name's Gabe. Who're you?"
Kurt smiled, shaking his hand. "Kurt." He nodded towards the large bag in Gabe's hand. "Wow, you really came prepared."
"Yeah, well, I'm a sophomore this year so I kinda figured the workload would be crazy." He began pulling items out of the duffel, arranging them neatly on one of the desks in the corner. "I have more stuff downstairs, but I couldn't carry it all."
Kurt shrugged. "I could help. I finished unpacking all of my things already, so I don't mind."
Gabe looked up. "You'd do that?"
"Yeah, sure, why not? I mean, we're roommates now, so..."
Gabe nodded, a smile playing on his lips. "That'd be really helpful. I've only known you for a couple of minutes but I can already tell we'll get along great."
Kurt followed him down to the main floor and out to his car, a tiny, green punch buggy. Gabe popped the trunk, handing Kurt one of the boxes. "So, what grade are you?"
"Freshman. I barely know what I'm doing." Kurt joked, watching as Gabe balanced two boxes in his arms.
Gabe raised an eyebrow. "Wow, really? I thought you were older."
"Nope, I'm only eighteen."
Gabe closed the trunk, beginning the walk back to their dorm. "What school did you go to last year? I'm just curious since Juilliard rarely takes freshmen."
"McKinley High. It's this small school in the middle of Ohio, you probably haven't heard of it."
"I don't think I have. But hey, I don't know a lot of things." Gabe's gaze fell on the ring on Kurt's finger. "What's that?"
Kurt blushed. "Oh. It's a promise ring. My boyfriend gave it to me awhile ago."
Gabe smiled. "Cool. I don't think I've ever met someone in real life with a promise ring, I thought that just happened in movies. It's really badass."
"Yeah, well, we like doing cheesy things like this for each other." Kurt unlocked their room door, pushing it open with his foot. "He's a year younger so it's kind of a nice reminder that he's thinking of me."
Gabe nodded. "That's sweet. My girlfriend and I used to do something similar- I gave her a bracelet at the beginning of freshman year so she had something to remember me by when I was away. Obviously that didn't work, we broke up after a week." Gabe shrugged. "Long term relationships just aren't really my thing." He chuckled, sitting down on his bed.
Kurt smiled at this comment. He felt really content, more than he thought he would. Something about hanging out with Gabe was so comforting. "Hey, do you think you could show me the cafeteria? I'm kind of hungry."
Gabe shook his head slowly. "Wow, you really are new. You don't want to eat the food here- for a rich school it's kind of disgusting." He paused to open a box, tossing something in Kurt's direction. "Instant ramen. Trust me, it's way better than any cafeteria mush."
Kurt caught it, a smile still on his face. "Thanks."
"Sure. Let me finish unpacking and we can eat."
"Wait, so he's nice?" Blaine asked, shock in his voice.
Kurt smiled at his boyfriend through the phone screen. "Yeah, we get along great. He's giving me all kinds of good advice, like how not to eat in the cafeteria or use the public restrooms. Did you know that some junior got food poisoning last year? Apparently it was so bad she needed to spend a week in the hospital."
Blaine shook his head. "I had no idea rich school food could do that much harm." Blaine paused, a loving look in his eyes. "I miss you. How long until break?"
Kurt rolled his eyes. "Blaine, it's only been two weeks. You'll just need to be patient."
"I don't know if I can, I just want to kiss you again." Blaine groaned.
"I know. It's not the same." Kurt sighed. "I wish you were here with me. I know you'd appreciate my dorm, it's super modern. Oh, and you would love Gabe."
"Should I be worried about this Gabe guy?" Blaine joked.
"No way. I've told you, you're my one and only. Besides, he's straight."
"I'm just kidding around. I guess we should hang up, it's almost eleven."
Kurt let out a sigh. "You're probably right, I don't want to be tired tomorrow. But keep your phone on, I'm sending some pictures your way." He winked, laying down in his bed.
"Oh, I'm looking forward to those. Talk to you tomorrow?"
"Of course. Goodnight, I love you."
"Love you too." Blaine said, signing off.
Kurt gave a sigh of contentment as he plugged in his phone. He loved college, he really did, but he couldn't wait for winter break.
Thanks for reading! This chapter was definitely very bitter-sweet to write, just because for some reason it made me sad that Kurt graduated...? Idk, I also cried during the show when he did xD. I know that the chances of both Rachel and Kurt getting into Juilliard is like 0.1111 but this is a fiction story so I guess it works! I obviously needed to get Finchel back together in this chapter, I mean, they're endgame so...
I'm also curious what y'all think of Gabe. Do you like him? Dislike him? I'm just wondering lmao since there might be some drama coming up... any guesses?
Anyway, thank you again for the support and for reading this, I really appreciate it! Reviews and ratings are always appreciated (messages are ok to!) Until next week! :)
