Happy Tuesday everyone! I know I haven't uploaded recently but I've been sick and busy rehearsing for a upcoming show I'm in. Anyway, when I realized it was upload day I couldn't just skip it for the third time in a row, so here we are! For those of you who missed the last chapter you're probably going to be shocked at these words, but BLAINE CHEATED:((((

That's right, he hooked up with another guy much like in the show. Now Kurt's struggling to recover from this trauma and is trying to move on with his life, leaving Blaine behind as well. Hopefully you enjoy this short but sweet chapter!

As always:

- I do NOT own Glee or any of the characters

- If you notice any grammatical errors don't hesitate to reach out!

- I still have pages of this story saved, so let me know if you'd be interested in seeing more chapters in the future!

- Anyways, enjoy! ️

"Are you okay?" Carole asked, concern in her eyes.

Kurt sat up in his bed, peeking at the clock on his nightstand. He'd been crying for over five hours, and he couldn't even begin to imagine how awful he looked. "I don't know."

Carole nodded, sitting next to him. "Sometimes that's okay. I'm so sorry about what happened."

"Thanks." Kurt took yet another tissue from the box, blowing his nose before adding it to the growing pile on his rug. Normally he'd be completely petrified about the germs, but right now that was the least of his worries. "I just... I never thought it would happen. I thought he cared about me."

Carole hugged her son close, rubbing his back. "He did care about you, Kurt. I know he did. I have no idea what was going through his head at the time, but I do know that you two had something special."

"Maybe. I guess it wasn't enough for him." Kurt's eyes were glassy with tears. "I gave him everything. He was my first kiss. My first relationship." Kurt paused to wipe his nose again. "And I probably shouldn't be telling you this, but I even gave him my virginity."

Carole nodded. "I know, when you came home that night your shirt was on backwards."

Kurt managed a small smile through his tears. "Great, now dad probably knows too."

"You and I both know your father's not the most observant person in the world." Carole joked. "Look, I know it hurts right now. And you're allowed to feel whatever it is you need to." She gave a sad smile, patting Kurt on the shoulder before standing. "Let me know what I can do. Is there some sort of treat you want from the store? Maybe some of that tea you're always talking about?"

Kurt sighed. "Thanks for the offer Carole, but I think I just need some time."

"Okay, let me know if you change your mind."

"I will." Kurt watched her go, shutting the door behind her. He walked over to his mirror, peeking at his reflection. As expected his face was swollen to a point where it was almost unrecognizable. He groaned, immediately grabbing a towel and running it under some warm water, gently wiping his face. Maybe some self care would make him feel better.

He felt his phone buzz in his pocket. He slowly pulled it out, staring at the screen. Mercedes. Kurt opened the message, scanning the text. She wanted to come over.

He hesitated for a moment. Did he want to talk? After debating for a couple of minutes he ultimately decided that yes, maybe telling Mercedes what happened would make him feel better.

About fifteen minutes later Mercedes practically barged into Kurt's room. The second she saw him she rushed to his side, giving him a big hug. "Oh my gosh, what's going on?"

Kurt gave a shaky breath. He was crying again, much to his dismay. "Blaine and I broke up."

"What? Why?" Mercedes said in shock. "Sorry, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I'm just curious, things seemed like they were going well."

"They were. Well, until he confessed to cheating on me."

Mercedes' eyes widened. "Wait, are you serious? Why would he do that?"

Kurt shrugged. "I don't know. Apparently he went home with some random guy from an art show." Kurt felt the anger bubbling up inside of him again. "I just wish he'd talked to me about how he was feeling instead of running off with a stranger. If he was unhappy he could've just said so."

"Kurt, I'm so sorry. I know how much you cared about him." Mercedes paused, deep in thought. "You know, I have an idea."

Kurt raised a suspicious eyebrow. "What is it?"

"What if we sang a song together? Like a duet? I can ask Mr. Schuster if we could sing for the glee kids." Mercedes explained. "We could expose him."

Kurt sighed. "As fun as that sounds, I can't. I'm heading back to Juilliard tomorrow."

"What? But you just got here!" Mercedes protested.

"I know, but I think it's what's best right now. I really don't want to risk running into Blaine, I don't think I could handle it."

"I understand. If you stay I could be your personal bodyguard." Mercedes offered.

"I'll think about it."

"Good, because I haven't gotten to see you in months! What's new?"

"Oh, so much. You wouldn't believe it if I told you."

"Stop, I'm trying to eat!" Gabe joked, playfully shoving his girlfriend. "You're so clingy."

"You love me." She said with a wink. Heather was a junior at Juilliard, and after she got the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz Gabe immediately fell in love with her. It was like "love at first sight" as he put it, and they started dating soon after since they got close though the production (Gabe was the tin man.)

Rachel hadn't ended up landing a major role, much to her dismay, and instead was given the part of Dorothy's understudy. She said she wasn't bothered by it, but Kurt could tell she was.

After the big breakup Kurt had thrown his whole being into preparing for auditions, and was pleasantly surprised when he'd landed the part of Oz himself. Not only did he get to yell into a megaphone, but he also got to wear a snazzy outfit. It was a win win.

"You know, you two aren't the only ones here. Some of us are trying to watch Mary Poppins." Kurt joked, rolling his eyes.

Gabe laughed. "Sorry, Kurt. We'll settle down."

"I know that's a lie. Don't worry about it, though, it's fine." Kurt couldn't help but be in good spirits as he watched the two of them together. Heather was perfect for Gabe- she was quirky and weird, which complemented his duncey traits. "I can't believe closing night is tomorrow, it feels like we just got cast yesterday."

"I know, it's crazy. And after this we'll pretty much be halfway done with the school year. Time sure does fly." Gabe gazed adoringly into Heather's eyes, putting an arm around her. "I'm just trying to enjoy every minute."

"Speaking of tomorrow I should probably get to bed. The later I stay up the more tired my voice will sound, and we can't have that." Heather gave Gabe a quick kiss as she stood. "Tomorrow night. My place."

"You're on." Gabe winked, watching as she left.

Kurt gagged dramatically. "That was a conversation I really didn't need to hear."

"Sorry, you know how I am when it comes to sex. Besides, there's a cast party afterwards so you won't need to be here alone."

Kurt sighed. "Yeah, but I'll miss my bestie. Can't your plans wait until afterwards?"

"No can do, Heathers on a tight schedule." Gabe paused, suddenly awkward. "Hey, did we make you uncomfortable earlier? I try not to get too flirty with Heather when you're around, but sometimes I go a little overboard. I just don't want you to get upset."

Kurt rolled his eyes. "Gabe, you don't have to apologize. I don't care about the flirting, I actually think it's kind of cute."

Gabe let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, that's good. I'm not sure if I would've been able to tone things down even more. I just want to be conscious of the fact that you're hurting."

"I'm not anymore, I told you. It's been a few months, I'm over it." Kurt smiled at his friend. It was true, he wasn't in pain about the whole breakup thing anymore. Sure, it hurt for a while, but he was finally feeling like himself again. "I'm glad you're happy."

"Thanks. Hey, we could have some dude time now that Heathers' gone. Maybe play a game or something?" Gabe offered.

Kurt nodded. "Actually, I was wondering if you could help me with something."

"Of course, what's up?"

Kurt hesitated. He knew what he was about to suggest was unexpected at the very least, and he wasn't sure how Gabe would react. "Could you... teach me how to play the guitar? I want to learn."

Gabe suppressed a laugh. "You? Playing the guitar?"

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing, you just don't really have the whole... look."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Gabe sighed. "You want me to be completely honest with you?"

"Yes."

"Your whole aesthetic is just really..."

"Gay." Kurt finished, a smile on his lips. "Gabe, you can just say it. And I know, I'm not all rock on like you are, but I'm trying to embrace new things, and one of those things is learning how to play." Kurt sat criss cross applesauce on his bed, eyes pleading. "So will you teach me? Please?"

Gabe rolled his eyes. "Okay fine, you make a good point. Let's start with the basics." Gabe took his guitar from the case by his bed, taking two picks from the pocket on the side. He strummed the first string, humming along with the note. "That's a high E."

"Maybe I should write these down." Kurt took a piece of paper from his notebook, grabbing a pencil. "Okay, I'm ready now."

The production the next day had gone great- Burt and Carole were there as well as Mercedes and Finn. Kurt felt a sense of relief once it was over, but at the same time he was kind of sad. Performing had been amazing, and he absolutely loved the cast.

Now, as he sat on his bed strumming Gabe's guitar, he felt a sense of comfort for the first time in a while. His thoughts were disturbed as the door to their dorm room slammed open, a disheveled Gabe entering the room.

"Hey, are you still practicing?" Gabe crossed over to his friend, watching as Kurt carefully played a chord.

"How was that?"

"It was actually pretty good. You've only been playing for what, a month?"

Kurt nodded. "About. I think I'm ready to start learning some actual music now."

"I printed these down in the library for you. They're some simple songs that I played when I first started." Gabe handed over a pile of sheet music. "If you choose one I can help you learn it."

Kurt raised an eyebrow as he skimmed over the pieces. "Sweet Home Alabama? I love that song."

"Yeah, well, it's actually super easy. May I?"

Kurt gave a nod, and Gabe took the guitar from him. Without any hesitation he began to play, not even glancing at the music once. When he finished Kurt was in shock.

"That was amazing. How am I supposed to follow it?"

"Oh, you'll do great. Trust me, it's not that hard. Let me show you." Gabe began going over the notes one by one, adjusting Kurt's fingers as needed. After only about twenty minutes of practice Kurt was playing all on his own.

"You're a natural." Gabe joked. "At this rate you'll be better than me soon."

"Thanks for helping me with this. I know you'd probably much rather be spending time with your girlfriend right now."

Gabe shrugged. "I enjoy being your teacher. Besides, tonight I get to spend a whole night with Heather." He winked, a twinkle in his eye.

"Stop, way too much information!" Kurt said harshly, a joking look on his face.

Gabe burst out laughing, and soon they were both in hysterics. "What is happening to me, how am I still in a relationship with her? It's been how many months, three?"

"Yep, and you're still head over heels. At least you chose someone with a good fashion sense this time, unlike your last girlfriend." Kurt joked.

Gabe groaned. "Can we not talk about her? I barely even remember her name, that was such a long time ago."

"It was six months ago! And wasn't her name Olivia? Or was it Megan?" Kurt continued throwing out names, each one causing Gabe to fake even more annoyance.

"Kurt, stop!" He said with a laugh, shoving his friend playfully. "At least I'm in a relationship." He said it lightly, but it caused Kurt to pause, turning away. Gabe immediately put an arm around him, face apologetic. "Kurt, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset..."

"I'm okay. It's just... how is it that we go to a school for acting and there's not a single gay guy here besides me?" Kurt said with a sigh. "Sometimes I wish I was straight."

"What? Kurt, trust me, you don't want to be straight. Girls are complicated." Gabe moved slightly closer to his friend as he said this. "I'm sure there's another gay guy here somewhere, maybe you just haven't found them yet."

"Oh yeah? Who would that be?"

Gabe paused, deep in thought. Suddenly his face lit up. "Oh, I know! That one kid in French with you. You know, the one who wears eyeliner and paints his nails."

Kurt rolled his eyes. "He's goth, Gabe. Plus, I saw him practically sticking his tongue down some girl's throat in the auditorium." He fell back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. "Maybe I'm being over dramatic. The last thing I need is to go through another failed relationship."

"You won't be single forever, you know. You have an amazing personality and your outfits look like they belong in a fashion magazine." Gabe shrugged his shoulders, a smile on his face. "If I were gay I'd totally be into you."

Kurt bit his lip to keep from laughing. "Okay, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to picture you with a guy right now and it's hilarious."

Gabe chuckled. "Yeah, maybe that was a weird thing to say. My point is that you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. There will be other guys, guys way better than that Blaine character."

Kurt gave a small smile. "Thanks, Gabe. Maybe you're right. And even if I'm alone forever at least I'll have amazing guitar skills."

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, there's still a lot for you to learn."

Omg I love their friendship, it's just so wholesome! I know Gabe's giving off Elliot vibes but I think when I wrote his character I based it somewhat off of a Sam and Finn mix- he has guitar skills but is a little bit of an airhead. What do you think about Heather? I debated giving him an s.o. but figured I might as well...

Let me know what ideas you have in the comments! I have this story written up already but am up for any suggestions for the plot right now or in the future. Thanks for reading and I'll update soon!
