(So about that schedule I was talking about… Yeah sorry I dropped the ball on this one. Here's some filler, expect the next chapter by the end of the week. Thanks again very much for staying tuned. I love each and every single one of you.)
Chapter 6:
Ikidzu groaned, tossing and turning in her bed. Thinking about tattling about Doronuma's scandal made her stomach turn. That's exactly what it felt like too, tattling on somebody. After all, she was snooping somewhere she shouldn't have been, regardless of the reason. She wishes she never found out what Doronuma was doing, to begin with. It would sure make sleeping easier, but she can't just let her continue to steal from the team.
The other thing that was nagging at her was whether or not anybody would believe her. The only person she could think of would be Itoku, but she would believe her regardless. She wasn't exactly close with any of the other members, they only respected her because of her position as vice-commander. She rolled over, grabbing her phone from her nightstand. She had to talk to somebody about it or she wouldn't get any sleep. She dialed Itoku's number and waited.
"Ughhh… Hello?" Itoku answered. She sounded like she just crawled out of a lake.
"Hey, you got a minute?" Ikidzu asked.
"It's twenty past midnight! What the hell do you want!" Itoku cried. She was frustrated but covered it with friendly playfulness.
"This is going to sound crazy, but hear me out. I need your help to expose Doronuma." Ikidzu said.
"You couldn't wait until morning to tell me this? I'm in, don't get me wrong, but why did you need to tell me now?"
"I… just needed to tell someone. So here's the scoop. Doronuma is funneling money for the Tankery team into her account. I did some of my research, and it's illegal apparently. I don't want to get her thrown in jail, but I can't just let her keep doing it. Here's the other problem. I have no proof that she's doing it, except for what I saw on her laptop."
"So you want me to get proof… Right?"
"Yeah. I know it's a lot to ask but you're the only person I can trust to help me."
Itoku sighed heavily into the microphone. Ikidzu moved the phone away from her ear slightly to alleviate some of the noise. "Fine." Itoku groaned. "I'll get it to you before the next club meeting. If you want my advice, that'd be the best place and time to call her out."
Ikidzu smiled. "Thanks, Itoku, you're the best!"
"Damn straight. I'll see you tomorrow." Itoku said.
"Alright, see ya!" Ikidzu pressed the end call button on her phone and rested it back on her nightstand. It certainly felt better to tell someone and get help to expose Doronuma. She rolled back onto her side and finally felt enough peace to fall asleep.
"Remember, this is all going to be on the test. Study your notes, and be ready to take more tomorrow." Ikidzu's history teacher said. Ikidzu packed all of her supplies into her bag, and by the time she was done the dismissal bell rang. All of the students, including herself, stood up in unison and left the classroom, and started walking in separate directions to their next classes.
The hallways were filled with chatter, horseplay, and smell above all else. It didn't smell bad, it smelled the complete opposite. The scent of lemons and bleach assaulted Ikidzu's senses. Someone must have just cleaned the hallways, or maybe the bathrooms. From behind her, Ikidzu felt someone tap her on the shoulder. She turned her head to see who it was.
"Here's the evidence. Take a good look at it." Itoku said, handing Ikidzu a paper folder. Before Ikidzu could even respond or thank Itoku, she skulked back into the crowd of students around them and disappeared. "Weirdo." She said under her breath. She tucked the folder under her arm, and walked to Art class, her next period. She'd have plenty of time to read it there
