"SHE WHAT!?"
"Sirius, we've already told you three times," James said.
"Read it to me again," he demanded.
"She states: I got sorted into Slytherin. I really hope you are not mad at me or disappointed. I told the hat to put me where he thinks I would succeed. She then goes on to say; It's kind of lonely and cold. I'm the only girl first year. The rest were boys. "
"Why? The hat must be wrong."
"Sirius, that hat is never wrong. Plus she feels lonely. Go there for a few days and talk," Lily said.
"Fine." Sirius stormed off.
Back in her Slytherin dorm alone, Stella was wide awake. She wanted to talk to Harry but she was nervous. It felt like someone poured cement in her stomach and it had hardened. She didn't know what to expect. Harry hated the Slytherin house, who is to say his thoughts won't change because of her. She slowly walked down her dorm stairs to the common room only to run into Draco.
"A Potter in Slytherin. Who would have thought."
"Definitely not me."
"Yes, how is it that you got into Slytherin anyway? I mean you're a half-blood."
"I don't know that's just where the hat put me."
He looked at her curiously for a few seconds then nodded and walked off. Stella walked out of the comment room and started heading for the Great Hall. When she got there she could feel eyes on her. She looked around and saw Harry and his friends looking at her. Stella took a deep breath and walked over to him.
"Hi, Harry. Do you mind if I sit down?"
"Yes, we do mind. We don't talk to Slytherins."
"Ronald! Be nice."
"No it's fine Hermione if that's how he really feels I'll go away," Stella said.
She walked out of the Great Hall having eaten nothing and stormed outside. She had thought of going to Moony but decided against it. Stella sat down with her back against a tree and zoned out. To an onlooker, it might have looked like she was staring at the lake in wonder. But in reality, she was missing the comfort of home. She didn't belong at Hogwarts. At least that's what she thought. She didn't like the idea of people looking down on her just because of the house she was in.
After a while of pondering a dark shadow draped over her. She snapped out of her mind and looked up. It was Snape.
"Come to boast?"
"No."
He sat down next to her and they slipped into a comfortable silence. After a while, he spoke up.
"I heard what Weasley said to you. Must have been devastating."
"It was. I wasn't even talking to him anyway! What gave him the right to speak to me when I was asking my brother."
"He has his own thoughts and ideas about Slytherins that makes him dislike us. But you mustn't let that get into your head."
"I wasn't."
"Sure looked like it."
"Okay fine I was."
"I know."
He smiled at her when she gave him an intense glare. He got up and offered his hand to her. He pulled her up and they walked back to the castle side by side in comfortable silence. That was until the Weasley twins ran up to them and Snape took away house points.
"That's not fair," George said.
"You were running in the hallway."
"So? Everyone does," Fred replied.
"Ten points each. Don't make me take fifteen."
"Sorry."
Snape walked off and the twins glared at his back. When he was out of sight they turned to Stella.
"We wanted to say that even if you are a Slytherin."
"We don't care and still want to be your friend."
"No matter what ickle Ron thinks."
"Awww thanks, guys," she pulled them in for a hug, "in fact was thinking about a prank we could do on Ron."
The twins grinned at her.
The next day to say Ron was mad was the very least you could describe it. He came storming into the Great Hall with his hair green and silver. He stomped over to his brothers and Stella.
"Showing off your Slytherin pride today Ron? I appreciate it," Stella said.
"So you're the one behind this? I demand you to change it back."
"Oh ickle Ron," Fred said, " That will last about two days at the least."
"At the least!? You expect me to walk around like this for over two days?"
"We could shave it off," George offered.
Mumbling angrily to himself he walked over to the Gryffindor table and sat down with his arms crossed. Stella grinned at the twins.
"What a way to start the year."
That night Stella was in the Slytherin common room doing her work when the door swung open and Draco walked in with a big black dog at his feet.
"This dog was sitting outside or door. Do any of you recognize it?"
No one spoke a word.
"It's just me in my room. I could take it for a few days," Stella said recognizing the dog immediately.
"Fine." Draco nudged the dog over to Stella with his foot. Stella stood up and motioned for the dog to follow her as she walked to her room. When she got in she shut and locked the door.
"What are you doing here?"
The dog morphed into Sirus and he sat on her bed.
"I just wanted to see how you were doing. Man, it has been a while since I sat on one of these."
Stella raised her eyebrows at him.
"Well, Ron hates me and is turning Harry against me. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that I am in Slytherin. But other than that I'm doing fine"
It was Sirius's turn to raise his eyebrows.
"Ron is turning Harry against you?"
"Yes! I asked Harry if would mind if I sat by him and Ron butted in and said 'Yes, we do mind. We don't talk to Slytherins'."
"Yes, but that was Ron, not your brother."
"But Harry didn't even defend me. Hermione did! Oh well, it is what it is. Can you stay tonight?"
"Yeah. Padfoot wants to cuddle."
He stood up and turned back to his dog form and hopped on her bed. Followed soon after by a tired Stella. With her best friend by her side, she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
Man, it's been a while. There's really no excuse other than I had no motivation to write. I'll try to take the time to write from now on. I really hope you liked this chapter. Please tell me your thoughts and if you have any ideas for a chapter.
