It was a cold winter's day in Elmore city. It was the middle of December and it had been snowing for the past two days. At the Watterson's house our favorite thirteen year old blue cat was now starting to stir from his bunk bed as he let out a small groan.

Gumball slowly rubbed his eye lids with both hands before he opened his eyes. He tosses his blanket off of his body so he could sit up in his bed, he turns his body so that his legs were hanging off the side of the bed with his feet hanging a few inches from the ground. He lets out a long silent yawn before he gets up off the bed and makes his way to his bedroom window and what he saw put a huge smile on his face. "Great, it's still snowing outside." He says as he saw the pure white snow fall from the sky and land all over his neighborhood, making it look like a winter wonderland. Gumball always liked the winter season. He liked how the snow felt when it touched his fur and how nice it felt when it landed on his tongue. After a few minutes of him enjoying the wonderful sight outside He turned around to the small dresser that was beside his bed to see that his brother's fish bowl was empty. His brother Darwin who was a fish never slept on the bed at all even though it was a bunk bed and whenever anyone in the family would ask why he just said that the fishbowl felt cozy so they just went with it.

"Hmmm that's weird he's usually never awake before me. I wonder why he woke up so early?" He asked himself as he brought his right hand to his chin and that is when it hit him in the face like a brick wall. Because it had been snowing for the past two days it meant that there would only be so much hot water to use to take a shower. With this new information in his mind Gumball ran out of his bedroom and headed straight for the bathroom. He was about eight to ten feet from the bathroom before the door opened up and Darwin stepped out of the bathroom door with a towel wrapped around his waist. Darwin saw Gumball and smiled at him as the blue feline stopped right in front of him."Hey Gumball you're finally awake." Darwin said in his happy go lucky voice.
Gumball was panting a bit to catch his breath before looking up at his brother as he hoped to heaven that his happy go lucky brother had not used up the last of the hot water."Darwin please tell me you did not use up the rest of the hot water?" He asked hoping that there would be at least a little bit left for him to use for a quick shower at the most.

"I think there is a little bit left Gumball." Darwin said with a smile on his face as he walked past Gumball so he could head to their bedroom to get dressed for school.
Gumball turned around to thank his brother before turning back around and walked into the bathroom where he then closed the door behind him. He quickly got to work on taking off his pajamas so he could jump into the shower. As he turned on the water he felt the hot water hit all over his body."Oh man this feels so go... AHHHHH cold, cold, cold!" He yelled as he found out the hard way that they were out of hot water.

Gumball quickly jumped out of the shower, his body shaking like a leaf. "Man that was cold as hell." He grumbled angrily as he grabbed his towel from the shelf and wrapped it around his waist as he walked over to the bathroom counter and grabbed his toothbrush and toothpaste but his luck was not going to be any better as when he went to squeeze the tube of paste only a small amount came out, not even enough to really brush his mouth fully making him sigh in defeat. He took a deep breath and looked at himself in the mirror and smiled. "It's ok Gumball so what if your day is starting off awful it's fine because after today it's winter break where you are going to have a lot of fun." He says giving himself a pep talk which seemed to do the trick so after he finished brushing his teeth he walked out of the bathroom and headed to his and Drawin's bedroom so he could get dressed. It took our main character a few minutes to get dressed but once he did he slowly walked down the stairs to the living room. When he got there he saw his dad sitting on the couch watching some kind of Christmas program on tv that had something to do about a guy making a deal with his son that if he made it home before Christmas that he would win the car they worked on together. Gumball just smiled at this and walked by him. He walked into the kitchen where he saw Darwin, Anais, and his mother. His mother was pouring herself some coffee. Since it was getting close to Christmas, she and the rest of the workers from The Rainbow Factory were given the rest of the month off. Which was good for her because she and Richard still needed to go to the store and buy the kido's their Christmas gifts. Gumball walked up to the kitchen table and sat down in a chair that was right beside his brother but not before grabbing himself a bowl and spoon first. He then picked up the box of cereal that his two siblings were eating and went to pour himself some but of course there was only ten pieces of cereal that fell into his bowl making him frown before looking at his brother and sister who were not looking at him so they missed the daggers he was sending them. Gumball closed his eyes and took in another deep breath as he told himself that it was fine and that things would get better. He then picked up his bowl and poured the little bit of cereal he had into his mouth and smiled.

Nicole sat down in a chair on the right side of the table right beside Gumball. "Are you kids excited for winter break?" Nicole asked as she took a sip of her coffee as her adopted son beamed up with joy at the question."I am! I can't wait for Christmas so we can open presents and be together as a family." An excited Darwin said happily. "Me too! I can't wait till Santa comes and brings us our gifts, I hope I get that new Daisy the Donkey movie." Anais says as she had been talking non stop about that movie for a month now making Nicole chuckle at her daughter's excitement. "I'm sure you will. That is if you have been good all year." Nicole said teasing her daughter causing Anais to stand up in her chair. "I really have!" She shouted Nicole laughed a little bit and smiled as she got up from her seat, walked up behind her daughter and rubbed the top of her head. "I know sweety." Nicole said as she patted her daughter on the head making Anias smile and giggle.
After a few seconds of this Nicole turned her head to look at Gumball who was just looking down at his empty bowl "Gumball are you excited about the holidays?" She asks her son as she could tell that something was on his mind.

Gumball raised his head up and put a smile on his face that everyone knew and loved. "Well yeah I mean after today I don't have to see or listen to Miss Simian for the rest of the month and it's snowing outside." He says, grabbing his bowl, get down from his seat so he could walk over to the sink and place his bowl in it.
Nicole smiled at Gumball's comment as she knew what Gumball meant, Miss Simian was the meanest teacher in all of Elmore city history and for some reason she always picked on the Watterson kids more than any other parents' kids. 'You think if she hated kids that much she would quit her job.' Nicole thought to herself as she took another sip of her warm dark coffee.

Gumball walked back to his seat as his brother and sister finished their breakfast and got up to put their bowls in the sink as well. As they did this a crazy idea popped into his head making him blush a bit but also smile. 'Hey maybe I should ask Penny if she would like to come over to our house for Christmas.' He thought to himself which just made him smile even more.
With that idea in mind and with a big smile on his face he ran out of the kitchen to the front door. He was about to open it and head straight for the bus stop, that was, until he heard his mother shout his name.

"Gumball Tristopher Watterson come here!" Nicole yelled as she came walking out of the kitchen and up to Gumball. Gumball stopped in his tracks and turned to face his mother. "Yes mom what is it?" He asked knowing that he must have done something wrong if his mother was using his full name.
"Where do you think you are going young man?" She asked as her arms were folded against her chest making Gumball shiver a bit.
I thought his answer carefully so as not to get into any more trouble. "To the bus stop." He says thinking that the answer was fair enough for his mother.
"Not without your jacket you're not mister so go up stairs and put it on." She said in a stern voice that would tell any child that she meant business.
"Aw come on mom, do I have to?" He asks pleading with his mother but with not much luck.
"Yes Gumball, you need to wear your jacket, it is too cold outside for you not to wear it. You don't want to get sick, do you?" Nicole asked in a motherly voice that would make any child give in.

Gumball sighed. "No, of course not mom." Gumball said in a defeated voice knowing that he was not going to win.
"Good now go put on your jacket." She said with a motherly smile as she watched Gumball walk past her and then ran up the stairs to his bedroom where he walked over to his closet. He opened his closest door and looked around a bit till he found his jacket making him smile a bit. It used to belong to her when she was a kid, but since it was too small for her, she gave it to him on his last birthday. It was a black jacket with blue edged cuffs, with blue edged collar, and had a blue metal zipper. To tell you the truth Gumball really liked this jacket. Gumball took the jacket off the hanger and put it on.
He then ran down the stairs to his mother so she could see that he had it on and got a amireing look from his mother thinking it really suited her young boy.
"Okay, can I go now mom?" Gumball asked in a hopeful voice as he really wanted to head out so he could ask Penny about his idea.
Nicole pretended to think about as she wanted to pick on her son some more as the rest of the kids got their coats on as well. "Yes, you can go now." Nicole said with a smile.

Gumball smiled and gave her a hug."I love you mom." Gumball said lovingly as he hugged his mom tightly which made her smile.
"I love you to gummy-puss." Nicole said with a smile.
Gumball then let go of his mom and ran to the door and opened it. "Come on Darwin, Come on Anais lets go!" Gumball shouted as he ran out the door.
"Wait for us!" Anais and Darwin said in unison as they ran out the door to catch up with their brother.
Nicole just chuckled as she watched her three children run away. She waited till the three of them were gone before closing the door and turned around to look at Richard. "Okay Richard are you ready to go to the store and look for the kids' gifts?" She asks with a smile on her face as Richard turns the tv off to look at his beautiful wife. "Yes dear but can I finish this movie real quick?" He asks, causing Nicole to laugh at her child like husband.
