Chapter 1:
Lucy was struggling to keep up with Natsu's pace. He was running towards the village where he can hear a fight going on. "Natsu come on! Can you slow down just a little please!" Lucy shouts through her gasps for breath. "No can-do Luce!" There's a fight going on and I wanna be part of it!" after saying that he speeds up even more with Happy keeping pace with him by flying above him.
"Hey, Happy! Can you please carry me?" Lucy asks in a huff. "No can do Lushi! You're just too heavy. Lose a few pounds and I'll think about it!". "Why you! Don't ask me to get you some fish ever again Happy!" Happy almost falls from the sky when she says that. Before Lucy could blink the blue cat had his arms under hers and was lifting her off the ground.
"I knew all I had to do was mention never buying fish for you again to have you fly me!" Lucy states with a massive grin on her face. "You're such a meanie Lushiiii!" Happy says with tears in his eyes. Lucy giggles and says, "But you loooooveeee me." Turning the phrase on the cat.
"Hey! slowpokes! Can you guys talk about this later when we're done!" Natsu says while running even faster towards the sounds of the fight. "Yeah, yeah. We're coming Natsu." Lucy says rolling her eyes. This time Happy giggles a little.
Once in the town, the trio is shocked as to what is happening. There strange black-robed figures running about chasing and fighting the villagers. Lucy and Natsu share a look and jump into action. How could they attack a poor defenseless village!
Of course, the answer is simple. They are a Dark Guild. Even after the fall of Zeref Dark Guilds still existed. They just weren't as powerful. But soon enough Lucy quickly regretted underestimating them.
Not the whole guild was powerful but there was a small handful of them that were clearly in charge. One in particular. One who was clearly the leader. One that, if not for her, would have certainly killed Lucy. There were five of the strong ones, including the leader.
The one was a literal demon who had the ability to turn invisible, one was an Earth mage that could give Jura a run for his money, one was a takeover mage like the Strauss siblings and the other one was an illusion mage.
The leader, however, didn't use his magic once. Well, not that Lucy could see him use it. That's if the person is a he. The problem was that all of them wore masks covering their faces, they never spoke and the cloaks they wore didn't help much with identifying their body shapes.
While Natsu was busy fighting the earth and illusion mage Lucy was trying to keep her eyes open for any indication for the demon that went invisible and opened Loke's gate to handle the takeover mage. So far Loke has been able to handle the person, but then a blast, most probably from the demon, came hurling at him. He only just made it out of the way. The distraction gave the takeover mage a chance to get the upper hand in the battle.
Lucy decided to open Sagittarius's gate to help Loke. As for Lucy, she may have found where the demon was shooting from. She will only be able to confirm it though if the demon shot another blast. Finally, Loke and Sagittarius were able to defeat the takeover mage. Lucy closed their gates after thanking them. She observes her surroundings, keeping her eyes open for the invisible demon. Out of the corner of her eye, Lucy sees another blast moving towards her.
That's it! She found him. "Stardress: Taurus!" Lucy used her increased strength to send a pile of debris toward the area where she saw the blast come from and to her joy it hit her target. The invisible spell lifted from the is her chance! "Stardress: Sagittarius!" She aimed and shot the demon multiple times. The demon didn't get back up making Lucy feels proud for being able to take down at least one of the dark mages by herself.
Her celebration didn't last long though. Because when she wasn't paying attention, the leader of the group attacked her from behind. Lucy let out a shrill scream at the amount of pain she was feeling. It felt as though a thousand knives were piercing her flesh. Cutting deep into her. At Lucy's scream, Natsu looked over.
What he saw terrifies and maddened him. Lucy was lying on the ground writhing and screaming in agony. And standing above her was the leader of the group. He (or she) was obviously using magic. But what Natsu couldn't understand was why he couldn't sense or smell the magic.
Another scream pulled him from his thoughts. He's gotta help Lucy! "Happy!" Natsu shouts for Happy and without hearing what Natsu has to say Happy knows immediately what to do "Aye Sir!" Happy flies towards Lucy and her torturer at great speed.
But before he could grab her the mysterious leader grabbed him by the neck and flung him aside. Happy hit a wall with an awful thud, falling to the ground in a heap. "HAPPY!" Natsu was even more pissed now than ever. First Lucy. And now Happy. Natsu got rid of the last person he was fighting quickly, which is the illusion mage. He hit the mage with a powerful Fire Dragon Roar.
After taking out the mage he storms towards the leader. "How dare you hurt them!" He shouts in fury. Then finally the leader speaks revealing a surprise."There is nothing you could do to stop me Natsu Dragneel." A female voice said. Natsu growled his response "Oh yeah. Watch me!" He threw a fire Dragon wing attack to his opponent. But when the dust settled, she stood in the exact same spot with not even a scratch. "Who are you?" Natsu asks the woman.
I am your worst nightmare, Natsu Dragneel.
