60 months & 1825 days.

That's how long it was since she heard the voice on the other end. 60 months of not hearing a single word of where the hell Elliot has been. She was beyond mad, but knew she must keep that in check for her son's sake.

"Uhhh Elliot, umm hi"

"It's so good to hear your voice Liv."

"No DON'T YOU DARE START WITH THAT BULLSHIT"

"Look I know your upset with me..."

"Hell right."

"But um could we get dinner and talk please?"

After a long 60 seconds, she finally responded with

"Okay fine."

"Same address and all" he gently replied

"Fine, see you at 6."

After she hung up with Elliot, she went to check on her son.

"Have a good time mom."

"Wait, what?"

"Yes, I heard. Go talk to him. And also..."

"What?"

"Maybe try not to get so angry. And keep him close because I like him."

"I'll try. See you Noah."

"Bye."

She went home and showered. Then she tried to decide on what to wear.

God damn it why is it so hard to choose a damn outfit. You're mad at him, remember?

Since Olivia hadn't gained that much weight from the time she last saw Elliot, at the Police Ball; she hadn't needed to buy much of anything new. She was never one for florals and flowers, but rather for black slacks, and not so noticable colored undershirts. She did however save some of her favorite dresses. Take the red cocktail dress. The color always went well with her natural Olive tanned skin. She sighed as she thought about what was waiting for her.

It's just to talk Olivia, just to talk.

She quickly fixed her makeup, and pulled out her nude colored heels, and black handbag. Same address, her ass. She pulled up to the familiar brownstone in west queens. The house she always imagined was hers and Elliot's with a ton of toddlers running around. Olivia, get yourself together. Your pist with him, stop thinking about kids; especially with him. She took a deep breath and knocked at the door.

"Hey Elliot."

"Hey come on in."

"Uh, would you like something to drink?"

"Maybe red wine."

"Okay."

She breathed in the warm scent of pasta. It was always true what people said. Elliot and Olivia were long lost twins. They could read each other's minds.

"Olivia?"

"OLIVIA?" yelled a voice

"Hmm? Oh what?"

"I just asked if you would like to sit down."

Embarrassment was immediately noticeable on her cheeks.

"Uhh yeah. Thanks"

They sat in silence for what felt like years, but in reality it was probably just a few minutes.

Elliot didn't know how to approach his partner and best friend. Since his untimely departure, and nothing said to Olivia, they grew apart. Him feeling guilty for not only what happened on that fateful day with Jenna, but also for the fact he selfishly left without even a word to his friend.

"Uh Olivia...?" He started

"Semper Fi Elliot! Semper fucking Fi. Don't they teach you in the Army that you don't desert those you care about- your brothers in arms? God, I am your brother in Blue! You left me. Now I know that I am nothing special..."

"You are special, Liv."

"Stop calling me Liv. You lost that damn privilege when you left me."

"Li- Olivia."

She put up her hand, as an indicator that she wasn't finished

"And all that time, I was thinking about you. Hell, you didn't deserve me thinking about you. But you know what? That is what happens when I let people in, to get close to me. I care about them even when they don't care about me." She spat.

"Did you not even think that it might crush me? Or was I just not that important?"

"Olivia?"

He reached out across the table and took her hand. Surprisingly, she didn't pull away.

"Liv I need you to know, that me leaving was not your fault. I did it because I was selfish. I was broken to start with, but I was even more broken." I thought that you didn't need me with all my problems weighing down on you."

"But I needed you El."

"I know that. But again, at the time I thought that you were better off without me."

"Partners, for better or worse." She mumbled.

"So I left. It broke my heart in a million little pieces, because I was leaving the one thing left that kept me alive."

"But why?"

"I don't know. I tried killing myself 3 of 4 times. I never succeeded. Thank god because If I did, I wouldn't be able to see how beautiful you've gotten."

"I uhhh..."

"Wait Liv, I haven't finished"

"When Kathy and I divorced, all I could think about was that I got to be with you."

"And then... uhhh..." He said as tears started to form in his eyes.

"What happened El?"

"Kathy committed suicide."

Without a second thought, she went over to him and took him into her chest and held him while he sobbed.

"I'm right here. I won't leave you."
