"Well you should, I deserve it..." Whispered Elliot quietly

"Yes, I am mad that you fucked me over multiple times, but I guess I feel the need to help others when they are down... I mean my squad did that for me..."

"I'm glad..."

"Look Elliot, just because I said that I wouldn't leave you, doesn't mean shit okay? Don't think that this is me giving you the okay to get inside me pants or me open up to you."

"I understand that, take your time, I don't care how long it takes you."

Smiling gently, she nodded her head

Benson Apartment

Arriving back at her apartment after what had gone down, she was grateful that she could sit down and relax. Noah was at counseling per the physiatrists advice. Her son had been through so much, and between fighting for the victims, and fighting for her sons being, she was grateful that someone else took hold of the reigns for once. Though she would never admit that.

She was greeted by the sound of a collar shaking and a panting dog. That was also something that had happened recently- A dog had been adopted. A small English bulldog named pepper. Fin loved Bulldogs, and wouldn't shut up about how adorable and loyal these critters on four legs were. She finally caved in and bought one. It seemed to help Noah as well.

"Hey Pepper girl, and how was your day?"

"Woof"

Thinking about what happened with Elliot, she couldn't help but think that normally, trust takes years to build. Yes, that was true but with Elliot, it seemed so easy to go back to trusting him. But she was scared.

Actually "Scared" doesn't begin to describe her conscious. Or her gut. She was always taught more or less to trust her gut and let that be the ultimate deciding factor. But what if that was leading her to a shattered heart? The same one that occurred all those years ago; in the dimly lit captains office back when Cragen was the captain.

She also knew that Elliot was a good guy who was plagued with flaws. Between a tumultuous marriage, and the guilt of the Jenna shooting, who could blame him? He was only doing what was right, and trusting HIS gut.

It was time for her to decide
