A/N I'm only gonna say this once since this is a given. My hero academia belongs to Kōhei Horikoshi. Kohei Horikoshi!

Normal is different for every human, creature, and living thing. In this world having wings or strange powers are normal. And not having any powers at all is a rare and strange occurrence. Our normal is what was once not normal. Normal has been changed so greatly that in the end; is anything truly normal? What right do we as humans have to dictate what is normal for humans when humans have become so diverse; so different from each other that a cinder-block can be somebody's head and a cat head another's? Someone can be invisible while others are part bird but not really. And the mailman can levitate small objects with his mind while your neighbor can swap colors with everything she touches. The former normal is thrown out the window. Things that seem impossible and inexpiable are normalized with a single phrase.

"It's just a quirk"

It's just a quirk and everybody continues like normal; as if it's all business as usual.

That girl has four eyes: just their quirk.

That man has wings and he's flying above us all: just their quirk.

That small child is lifting that vending machine above her head: quirk.

That lady can heal with a single smooch: what a useful quirk.

Everybody has a power that makes them different and it's a badge they wear with honor. Because it's their very own superpower; their very own quirk. What's next? Simple. With everyone's differences celebrated we live to use our new powers to better society. We learn, we grow and expand. The world is now 100% equal with quirks becoming common place and everyone lives happily ever after.

But the world is not a simple place. There are always going to be 'bad' people in the world no matter the era. As there will always be good people too. So with our new found quirks we try to normalize them by making laws to prevent them from being abused. And of course, there are laws against murder, but it still happens. As there are laws against speeding and those are broken every day. So, if you had the power to (and the lack of conscience to boot) why not snatch that lady's purse? The police are bound to the law too. You can easily use your quirk if things get rough and if the police can't stop you who will? Yeah so criminals took full advantage of their quirks and super-powered crime is not fun when you're the victim.

And that's when the government realized with these new powers, we will need to instate new checks and balances to deal with the new surge of crime. And that's when shit really hit the fan. Let's fight fire with fire and BAM. Those who use their quirks to harm others are named villains; and the perfect way to deal with villains? Heroes. Yup we have now come full circle. Where powers that were once only seen in fiction have become normal. So are the Heroes and villains.

And yes they do wear spandex and costumes.

So yadda, yadda, yadda. Heroes are normal and so are villains. Quirks are individual and personalized powers that are all too common. And the world continues to go round. There's your big THING every now and then to add to the textbooks but it's all just the way things are.

And isn't that normal. And if you couldn't tell by now I honest to god hate the word normal. Because Now with how society is with quirks and heroes and villains. I am not normal. Or i wasn't until I was diagnosed as quirkless and that was where this whole thing began.
