I grew up in a small village, Jakku, taken in by a junk boss, Unkar Plutt, after my parents abandoned me at age five. Plutt taught me how to scavenge around his junkyard, and that's how I earn a daily meal. As a foster parent, he had to make sure I was attending school and that I didn't starve to death. But everything came with a price, in my free hours I always worked for him.

I never had a childhood, with parents that never cared about me, and a foster parent that always reminded me that I wasn't worth anything, I was just a nobody from Jakku. And for years I was only that: I was Nobody.

In High School, I was always fighting someone, because I was bullied a lot. Maybe it was because I was wearing always the same outfit, even if I was washing it every night, it was the same ripped jeans, a brown shirt, and leather boots. That it was clean it didn't matter.

As you can guess already, I had no friends. I had no family. The only way to keep my mind busy was to scavenge for any mechanical parts around Plutt's junkyard, and after all the years working there, I became one of the best. I wasn't only good at scavenging things, I could repair and fix them. I was Plutt's best mechanic.

However, it was not only by working at the junkyard that I earned the title. No. I read, study and the only thing that kept my mind busy were machines. Cars, motorcycles, anything that had to do with mechanical devices, I wanted to know. I needed to know.

I was 18 when my luck broke its leg, and opportunities cross my path. The University of Washington-Seattle Campus offered 6 Mechanical Engineering Degree programs. It was a large public university in a large city, larger than I ever visited. I was given a scholarship and the opportunity to attend one of the Bachelor Mechanical Engineering Degree programs.

Finally, there was a ticket to get far away from Jakku, far away from all the ugliness. I might have earned a scholarship, but I still had to pay for my accommodation and my life supplies. I was about to decline the offer when a miracle happened.

Plutt gave me a card of another Junkyard that was located in Seattle. Chew Bacca was the owner, but everyone called him Chewie, Plutt said: 'You will not earn much, but it will be enough to pay for your rent and a daily meal. Just tell him, I send you.'

I knew Plutt for 13 years now, he had been my nightmare, I hated the man. He never hit me or did something physical to me, but he always belittled me. I was never enough, I was just a scavenger, a nobody. But that day he acted more of a parent figure than anyone ever had.

He allowed me to leave Jakku, he found work for me and even gave me money and transportation for my journey to Seattle. The transportation was an old black truck Chevrolet C10 model of 1967.

I left Jakku after graduating High-School, I had all my belongings with me. The truck that Plutt gave me, my graduation certification, my enrolling form for the university, Chewie's card, the outfit I was wearing, and a few clean underwears. Nothing else. I reached Seattle with almost nothing.

But I had with me something that I never had in my life: Hope! I finally could have a future, even me the nobody from Jakku, could have a place to start over. And start over I did.

I have been living for almost five years in Seattle. As Plutt promised I managed to find work at Chewie's place. Though that place has nothing to do with Plutt's junkyard. Chewie's place offered classic cars, he took those old pieces, rebuilt them, and refurbished them. Then he sold them at a higher price. I managed to earn there more than I ever dreamed of.

Chewie was an amazing boss, well he is now a best friend, he helped me a lot. He even is the reason I found my internship in one of the largest engineering industries; Solo Mechanics. The owner is one of his best friends. Chewie personally dragged me over to meet his friend Han Solo, who actually accepted my internship at Solo Mechanics. And he assured me after my internship I could work there as a mechanic.

My life on campus was amazing as well. On my first day already I met Rose and Finn. They were as well studying Mechanic Engineering. There I made one more friend Poe, Poe was a few years older than us and was finishing his master's degree in Airforce Engineering. Now he is one of the best mechanics in Skywalker's Air & Engines.

I have recently found out that Han's brother-in-law owns the place. Luke Skywalker. And if that wasn't surprising enough, Han's wife is a politician, Leia Organa. I was taken back by Han's family. I thought Han was just an ordinary guy, he is very assured about himself, but I never knew he was so high-powered.

Anyway, Rose and Finn already worked at Solo Mechanics, I was a year late because I failed in a few of my classes. Because I was working long hours at Chewies I ended up missing my exams. The guys and Chewie were so angry at me, but I didn't mind. Honestly, I could work forever at Chewie's place, it feels closer to the work I always knew.

But now that I graduated from university, the guys and Chewie insisted I should want more of my life. That's how Han came into the picture. They keep telling me to have more confidence in myself, and although I do have, sometimes, the bare truth that I am a nobody from Jakku still rings in my mind.

Here, I am now, almost a year after, I finished my internship at Solo Mechanics and now I work there as a regular mechanic. Rose and Finn work in different departments, but we still meet each other at work. And do you want to know a random fact, those two were dating for almost four years and they are getting married this year. Amazing.

Even Poe, who we thought always as a player and single, has been dated for a few years with Zorii. She was a photographer a few years older than Poe, but she had managed to make Poe get steady. Zorii was amazing.

Everyone has figured out their lives, the only single is I. But honestly, when it comes to dating, I am just not dating material. I always end up messing up. I went on a few dates with Poe's friends. But it ended up in disaster. Everyone has given up and decided that I will end up single for the rest of my life.

I had friends, friends that were my family, I had a small apartment to live in and a place to work. I didn't want anything else in my life. Life was fair and gave me so much more. I was happy now. I wished things would remain like that.

But I was wrong, nothing remains the same. The true adventure started one day suddenly when Han announced he was ready to retire and in his place would come his son. I mean we didn't even know that Han had a son. But boy, he had a son, and just not only an ordinary son.

We would find soon what kind of person his son was, although, how bad could things get, he was Han's son. Everyone seemed not really affected by the news. Surely they would miss Han, but how worse could his son be?

Poe had met him once, and by his experience, he said: 'I am just feeling lucky right now that I am not working at Solo's mechanics.' He didn't go into any details, but I already knew things would be bad.

How bad? Well, read the following chapter for that!
