Hey guys I wrote this when I was about 14, and now i'm 21 and in college which is fun, but I got an email saying someone favorited my story and I thought I would write another chapter for that. So here ya go, may be more may not be depends on how the semester goes.
Percy Pov
It was so bright, gods why is it so bright?
I woke up and was blinded by the gilded marble surgical ward, it seemed tacky, but also screamed Apollo.
I guess I'm on Olympus, in Apollo's temple? All the other beds are empty, where's Annabeth?
All I can remember is fighting the Giants, and the Gods.
Gods they are terrible, why did we think we could rely on them, even when fighting for their existence they couldn't be bothered to show up.
I couldn't even count on Dad, I thought at least he would show up.
Percy began to rise out of bed but was stopped by the slicing pain rippling across his chest.
"FUUUUUUUUUU" Percy flopped back into his bed grabbing at his bandaged chest.
"Help! Is anyone there?"
"Hello? Annabeth? Apollo? You guys there?"
Percy spotted a handle hanging above his bed and begun to pull himself up, biting his lower lip.
His bandages slowly began to turn crimson as he walked out of the ward, barging through a door Percy noticed dozens of picture frames of different women standing with Apollo.
"Of course. As soon as they have his kid he leaves them, so much for love." Percy mumbled.
How could the Gods just abandon their own children? Leave them to be slaughtered by monsters and tortured by the dregs of society.
Percy ran his fingers over the cigarette burns on his chest, and grimaced at the memories of Gabe.
Where was Annabeth? Percy wondered, she wasn't there when he woke up, and he was on Olympus surely, she would be here with him.
He began to run, bursting through the temple doors, Percy leapt down the marble stairs onto the cobble stone streets of Olympus and began to sprint towards the throne room.
Wise girl had done a great job with the place, he hadn't seen it since the battle of Olympus and by then it was practically in ruins. He'd have to tell her how great of a job she had done when he saw her.
Rushing through the streets, Percy began to panic, memories of the past few days began to arise; painful memories.
"ARGH" Percy collapsed onto the deserted streets of Olympus began clawing at his hair as memories of Tartarus reemerged.
"No, I didn't leave her, she's not gone! I remember her, she's alive! She was fighting Orion with me!" He screamed into the cobble stones of Olympus.
As he looked up, Percy saw the towering pantheon of Olympus, meeting place of the Gods designed by the love of his life. Surely his answers would lie inside.
Percy began running up the stairs in leaps and bounds, desperate to find Annabeth, Thalia, anyone who could give him an answer.
Percy grabbed at his pocket and felt Riptide extend in his hand as he shoved open the door.
Apollo pov
"Batman!" was Apollo's first thought, but then he remembered it was 'where are they'.
Hestia pov
Hestia was shocked, Percy was quite possibly her favorite demigod, and hearing that he was almost killed nearly destroyed her. Athena was truly in a state of decay though, she didn't even look up at the disruption.
"Percy, please, who are you looking for" Hestia asked, but she knew exactly who he was looking for, everyone in the throne room could tell who he was looking for.
"Don't play coy with me Hestia, where is she, where's Annabeth? Is she alright? Is she safe?" Percy's voice began to falter as his memories of Tartarus continued to come back.
Athena stood up next to Hestia, and slowly walked towards Percy, stumbling every few steps.
"Athena…I….Where is she, where's Annabeth?" Percy whispered as Athena got closer.
The throne room was dead silent, a pin falling could be heard and hearing Percy ask about Annabeth made the gods and goddesses hang their heads in shame.
"She's gone Perseus. My baby girl is gone. I couldn't be there for her, I couldn't protect her" as Athena finished, she fell into Percy's arms and started to weep uncontrollably.
Percy remembered. He remembered Tartarus, the cold obsidian slicing his feet, the burning sensation as he drank from the Phlegethon, and worst of all, he remembered watching Annabeth jump in front of an arrow meant for him.
Percy sank to his knees while holding Athena, pain rose in him like a fire as he started to tremble.
"I'm sorry Athena. I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough to protect her, it should've been me. I should be lying dead in Tartarus instead of her. I'm so sorry" Percy began to sob into Athena's shoulder
Not one god moved, Artemis felt such shame for even thinking about turning the Hero of Olympus into a Jackelope, but she couldn't have known it was him, the shameful feeling lingered though
Zeus coughed and began to speak
"Noble Hero, we are so sorry for your loss, as well as the loss of the other brave heroes who sacrificed their lives to save Olympus and our way of life, you have our—"
Zeus' speech was cut short as Percy gently laid Athena down and ran at Zeus, jumping onto his throne and shoving Riptide against the king of the god's neck. Ares began to get up from his throne but was stopped from a glare from both uncles
"Listen here you selfish son of a bitch, everyone I've ever cared about is dead, and it's because of you. My entire life is ruined due to your hubris, I'm done dealing with your bullshit, start cleaning up your own messes."
Percy pulled his sword off of Zeus' neck and leapt of the throne, Artemis just stared awestruck by the entire spectacle. The Hero of Olympus, cursing the very leader of the institutions he had sworn to protect, turning his back on the very gods who shared his connection to Annabeth and his fallen friends.
As Percy walked past the pantheons large doors and began to descend the steps, Artemis looked to her father, king of the gods, rubbing the spot where Percy has held his sword. She looked at her father, and her family, and began to chase after Percy, hoping to talk to him before he went to wherever he was going.
