The Storks Are Coming, The Storks Are Coming! Oh My. Story 9

It was a beautiful late April evening as the sun began to set over Bridal Veil Mountain, In the tent which was soon to be retired as the office, by a building closer to town, Jason, Jeremy, their manager Swede, and their two foremen, Corky and Obie were toasting the completion of two big jobs. Jason was certain that a bonus would be awarded since they completed one and half weeks in advance. The men placed their glasses on the table when Jason said "It was not more than two years ago when I would have gladly suggested that we proceed to Lottie's for more celebrating, but I know Jeremy is heading home to be with his very pregnant wife" when Christopher bolted through the flap of the tent. His breathing was heavy and gasped for air as he began "Jeremy, Jeremy". Jeremy grabbed the youth and attempted to calm him, he asked "What is wrong Chris?" Chris took in a deep breath and blurted "Candy broke her water; she wants you home now. Molly went to find the doctor." Jeremy's face blanched, he turned to Jason with a questioning look; Jason pat the back of Jeremy and said "Take my horse. I will pick up my luggage and come to your house. Gentlemen, I believe that is the end of our meeting." The men had a good laugh as Jeremy ran to the horse at top speed. Obie shaking his head "I remember that feeling when Lucinda went into labor. I didn't know whether to yell for joy or throw up." Swede asked, "So what did you do?" Obie replied, "I threw up." Another round of laughter as Jason closed the tent.

As luck would have it. Allyn had been at Jemma's home. Both women hurried over to assist Candy, Molly was now in pursuit of Lottie. With the assistance of both women, they managed to get Candy into a nightgown and into her bed. A sweating Jeremy charged through his front door and ran directly towards the bedroom which he shared with Candy. Allyn was speaking slowly and softly to Candy in hopes of her relaxing a bit when Jeremy hit the bedroom door with such force that he practically projected himself into the middle of the bed. Allyn was quite annoyed since the progress she had made was now almost finished. Jeremy frantically asked "Candy, how are you? What can I do for you?" Allyn had her arms crossed across her chest and answered "You can leave immediately. Do not stay downstairs, go to the bar with Jason. You are more stressed than she is. I am sorry but you are a total detriment. Please go." Jeremy attempted to argue "I will go get water." As he moved for the pitcher, he ran into the table smashing the pitcher to the ground." Lottie had arrived just in time to see Allyn scowling as Jeremy, Allyn asked "Lottie, please get him to leave. He is a bit overwhelmed and I understand that, but Candy's welfare is more important than the Bolt ego. He must leave." Lottie wrapped her arm firmly into Jeremy's and pulled him towards the stairs. Lottie laughed "Jeremy, I swear that I can feel your heart pounding. You do need to calm down. Those children downstairs are going to be looking up to you, this might be frightening for them. I suggest that you take them to the Hale's, I am sure Biddie would want to know as well." Jeremy was not happy and truly wished to return to his wife. As Lottie reached the bottom step with Jeremy in tow, Jason came through the front door with his luggage. Lottie smiled at the sight of her friend "Allyn may skin him alive if he tried to get up there. Drop off the children at the Hale's and go to the bar. Are you ready to join your wife in San Francisco where she is having the babies in a hospital?" As Jason nodded yes, an excruciating scream resonated through the house. Jeremy made a break for Candy while Jason laughed "I guess having two older brothers who were bigger than him taught Jeremy to run with wings on his heels similar to Apollo. Man, that boy is fast. Excuse me." Jason darted up the stairs as Allyn screamed something which no one would ever repeat, grabbed his younger brother, and dragged him a bit unwillingly downstairs. Lottie was waiting with her hands on her hip and her right foot stamping. Lottie somehow managed to look at Jeremy with love and annoyance at the same moment, she informed them "I just sent Molly to round up the men at my place. Jeremy, you had better stay there until called home, I have heard that Allyn is attempting to purchase a skeleton to display in her office, you get in her way again she might use you, I will take the children to Hales , I haven't had a chance to congratulate Rodger and Biddie on their good news" She kissed the two men on their cheeks and bade them farewell.

Kathleen was pacing more accurately described at waddling in the living room at the Stempel's San Francisco home when Julie and Maggie bought out some tea and a tray of food in an attempt to get Kathleen to eat something. She had her rosaries in her right hand as she was constantly praying for a delivery. In Seattle, everyone thought that she and Julie had gone to Seattle for shopping, but Kathleen had run into some problems suggesting she was having multiples and the doctor suggested that she remain in San Fran for the hospital. In reality, the stay in San Francisco was planned to provide a cover for adding Valerie's baby to their family. Kathleen would return with her twins. Josh had been contacted by Valerie's guards that the baby was on the way 15 hours ago since he was in San Francisco researching he took control for his big brother and went to where Valerie was held. Kathleen was pacing like an expectant father at the same time as she was a very expectant mother.

She finally sat to eat a bit when Maggie asked if she might ask a very personal question. Kathleen reached over and grabbed her sister-in-law's hand "Maggie, you are my sister. Josh has helped us so much. Jason is known to be able to handle anything, this situation has been difficult for him. Ask anything but my weight at this time." Maggie eyes stared down at the floor as she asked, "Do you really not mind taking this baby into your home?" Kathleen giggled "Honestly, I can't imagine being any more excited than I am. I love babies and I am so looking forward to raising them with their father by my side. Jason has some reservations after Johnathan ripped into him about letting me down again which he has not. Jason did what I would have expected him to do to keep everyone we love safe. The baby is Jason's and the baby bears no blame, in actuality considering her mental health issues neither does Valerie." Julie chimed in "Kathleen, you are unreal. I would want to decapitate that woman." Kathleen smiled back "Julie, I spent a couple hours with her. This condition she has there is no real treatment. She claims it is as if she has different personality which can do everything and anything she wants to do. Honestly, I wish that she was capable of taking care of the child. She knows it will break her heart to give the baby away, but she also knows that she is incapable of providing a stable life even if she wasn't imprisoned for murder." The door opened and there stood Joshua Bolt very carefully holding something protected by a blanket. Josh had changed, he was quite stunning in his three-piece blue set which set off his blue eyes. He did not look older but there was something more mature or confident about him. Kathleen stood and reached her arms out to see …

Jeremy, Jason, Clancy, and Aaron had been at Lottie's all night. Most of the close friends had joined them but had returned to their homes. The cook was making them breakfast. Most looked exhausted but Jeremy was ready to go. Jason started "I hate to say this Jeremy, but I have to leave at noon to be with Kathleen." Jeremy growled "Why is this taking so long? I am going over there again." Aaron suggested "I wouldn't do that since I think they have armed themselves with pans and rolling pins since your last adventure going over there. You might get killed. You sister swings a nasty pan." Jason quipped "No need to tell us that Aaron. I had a knot on my head for quite a few days once. Jeremy, I think that I would rather face a tribe of irate Indians rather than Allyn, Biddie, Jemma and Lottie."

Captain Lee Crane and First Officer Quinton McHale entered Lottie's looking for their last decent meal before leaving for San Francisco on the ship, Kathleen. Rebecca Barnes, one of the Irish orphans who was 16 joined everyone at Lottie's since she was going to San Francisco to help bring back the babies. She was thrilled with her assignment as Quinton was her beau. America had been good to her, she stayed at Jason's Castle, she was being trained in cooking, baking, sewing but best of all was her Quinton. She was a red head beauty with green eyes, and he stood 6 feet with red hair and blue eyes. He was a bit older at 24. Captain Crane yelled over to Jason "Are you ready to leave in a bit, everything on board?" Jason laughed "Ready and willing. Oh, Mr. McHale while on this trip, Becky is my daughter. Do you understand what I mean?" Quinton nodded yes while smiling at Becky. Suddenly, Chris charged through the doors. Everyone jumped up in anticipation. Chris excitedly expressed "There are two, but you have to get home to find out whether they are boys or girls. You are going to be the first." Jason congratulate his brother and then said "Make sure you open the doors before you go through them. I will be over in a moment, so you have private time, but I am leaving soon." Jeremy disappeared before anyone else could say anything.

After waiting a few minutes. Aaron and Jason rose to go to Jeremy's. Captain Crane said, "Be ready to board the Kathleen in an hour." Jason laughed and asked the captain "Could you find another way of saying that perhaps everyone please be on deck. Aaron let's go meet our newest Bolts."
