"Damn Babygirl, you are smart as hell." Tej shook his head as he bent over behind Kaidyn, watching her work.

"It's just busywork." Kaidyn shook her head, looking up at him with a smile. He kissed the top of her head.

"Well, looks like you almost done wit it." Tej nodded, sitting down beside her. He pulled out his phone, his arm around her chair as she worked.

"Oh that's cute. Got your little boyfriend sitting there to protect your ass. I see you, I see you." Roman said, his eyes narrowed as he walked by Kaidyn, still obviously not happy with her. This made Kaidyn giggle.

"Man, go on. Can't you see the girl is trying to work?" Tej asked, shaking his head.

"Don't think this is over, Blondie." Roman said, doing the 'I'm watching you' with his eyes and hands, said walking by the other way now, flicking her ponytail.

"Oh, it's over." Tej nodded, pointing to the door. " Go on. Git." he ordered. He picked up a lemon and threw it at Roman, making Roman act like he had been shot at.

"Homie, this ain't right." Roman shook his head. "She started it. A damn lemon. We s'posed to be homeboys, Tej." Roman grumbled, walking out.

"He's so damn ridiculous sometimes." Tej laughed, shaking his head.

"Right. I don't know what his issue is." Kaidyn grinned. "I thought he was hungry. I just gave him a snack." She batted her eyes innocently.

"I mean, that's the way I see it." Tej nodded, making Kaidyn giggle. It was quiet for a while as Kaidyn kept on working, Tej on his phone beside her. Out of the corner of her eye Kaidyn saw Roman walk back by.

"Wow, he's kinda stalkerish. Is he always like this?" Kaidyn asked, playfully scooting close to Tej. He put his arm around her.

"I got you. Yup, see what I gotta put up wit? You sure you wanna date me? Cause he's always gonna be around." Tej grinned, putting an arm around her as Roman did the I'm watching you' to Kaidyn when she looked at him.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can handle him." Kaidyn assured Tej.

"Yo, Man, let her do her work." Tej said a few minutes later when Roman walked by slowly again.

"This some bullshit, Blondie. Get that work done so we can take this outside and go play in the garage or somethin." Roman said, reaching to ruffle her hair. Tej knocked his hand away.

"No." Tej scolded like he was a little kid.

"Rude." Roman drew back his hand like his feelings were hurt.

"There. I'm done you guys. Like all done. I did every assignment Han gave me." Kaidyn sat back, closing the book, looking satisfied.

"Proud of you Babygirl." Tej squeezed her, making her smile.

"Good. Now you got no excuses." Roman nodded, leaning back and folding his arms.

"Now, if you guys excuse me. I am gonna go do something I have been waiting to do." Kaidyn gathered up all the books, notebooks, and papers.

"Where you going? Want some help with that?" Roman asked, sliding the rest of the books to her.

"No, I'm good, thanks. Is Han still sleeping on the couch in the living room?" She asked, grinning mischievously.

"Yeah, far as I know." Roman shrugged.

"Go check for the girl, man. Where yo manners?" Tej asked, kicking him under the table.

"Ouch." He gave Tej an exasperated look. "Fine. I'll be right back. Sheesh." Roman got up and walked out mumbling about how Tej getting a girlfriend made him a bossy person and came back in. "Yup, he's all laid out like some Egyptian mummy sleeping haha. He's out." He laughed.

"I'll be right back." Kaidyn promised, getting up and putting all the assignments in her arms. "Han! Wake up!" Kaidyn said loudly, making Han's eyes pop open with worry, startling him.

"You okay?" He asked, about to sit up. A startled Han was funny to Kaidyn because she never could rattle him or make him unrelaxed.

"Here you go. All of your assignments." Kaidyn said, tossing them up in the air right above him but on him. "ALL done." She smiled happily.

"Really?" He asked, making her nod proudly. He was now covered in lots of notebook paper and it was a sight that made her laugh.

"Han, I'm done. I did it all. The calculus, the essays, all of it. All six months of work." She said, folding her arms, expecting him to be more excited.

"Good job." he said rather flatly, yawning, not giving her the reaction she had expected. "Can I go back to sleep now?" He asked, acting like he was going to turn over and go to sleep.

"Ugh." Kaidyn turned to walk away, disappointed at his reaction.

"I'm just kidding, That's amazing, Kaidyn. I am so proud of you, Lil Sis!" He jumped up, running to her and picking her up and spinning her around. "All of it? In one go? I told you that you could do it, it was just a matter of doing it!" He said, excited.

"Yeah, you did." Kaidyn looked relieved. She hit him. "I thought you were mad at me, you jerk." she laughed.

"Yeah, paybacks can be harsh, you scared the crap outta me and then you threw it all on me. Did you think you'd get away with that?." Han asked with a laugh.

"Yeah, she got a lot of them paybacks comin to her, cuz." Roman agreed with him.

"See what a monster we have created?" Shayde asked, upstairs, still in bed with Carter. They had been watching Kaidyn and just spending their time together.

"Yeah, you have done a good job raising her." Carter nodded.

"Sometimes I wonder..." Shayde laughed.

"She is terrorizing those boys just like I had hoped she would." Carter agreed, smiling evilly.

"You sound so proud, Daddy." Shayde laughed.

"Very. I just need to talk to that one with the braids and tell him to give her some space." Carter said, watching her and Tej on the monitor.

"Carter, we talked about this. He's good for her." Shayde reminded him, getting up to get ready for the day.

"Doesn't mean I gotta be okay with her dating him." Carter shot back. "You could have consulted me first." He added.

"It kinda does mean that. Exactly that, actually I would have but you would have said no. I think it's good for her." Shayde said, shaking her head as they got up and Carter started to get dressed to leave. "Plus, Roman is with Tej all the time so she's always got them both by her side." Shayde said, shrugging.

"Hmmmm." Was all he replied.

"Don't you hmmm me, Carter." Shayde pulled him by his tie to her and kissed him.

"Is that right?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You really should go. I know you have your men waiting on you. I know you are busy" She said with a sigh as he pulled her in for a close embrace, hoping he would be gone for a while.

"Sweetheart, I gotta go but if you are really really good I can be back tonight." He said, looking in her eyes.

"Really. You sure?" She asked, looking up at him, shocked. "I know you have a lot of stuff to take care of. It's okay if you can't." She said. "We'll be okay if you can't." She nodded.

"I can't promise. I know this girl who does not like promises to be made. She might kill me for making a promise but I'll try my best." He grinned, making her push him away. He pulled her back to him and hugged her. "It's my plan to be back tonight." He grinned.

"Well, I will be here." She took a deep breath.

"How's the head feeling?" He asked, running his thumb over her forehead as she looked up at him.

"It's good. I'll have Brian look at it and make sure it's doing good. No worries." Shayde said as Carter bent over to get his shoes. "We are going to celebrate Kaidyn finishing her classes so just warning you, I might not be able to be up here with you." She informed him.

"Oh, I'll just be happy to see you. I can sit on the bed and watch you on the monitors." He promised, whispering in her ear, making her skin tingle. "Good luck with that down there today." He laughed. He grabbed his jacket and finished getting ready to 'sneak' out. He hated that he had to hide in his own house. It angered him and he was ready for Kaidyn to know who he was. He was trying to be patient but his patience was running out.

"Great, then you'll see me later. Much later." She promised, watching him slip out of the door.
