76 Blacktop Obsession-

"Guys, this blood isn't mine. Is she okay?" Letty walked over, blood all over her chin and hands. Her voice made Kaidyn open her eyes and gasp once she saw all the blood.

"Letty, what are you doing?" Roman asked, frowning. Kaidyn looked at Letty, her eyes going wide.

"I need to go to change, this blood's not mine." She explained. "I think she might have kicked me with her foot." Lettty said, holding up her arms that were covered in blood where Kaidyn could see the blood. It was almost as if Letty was letting her see the blood on purpose.

"Kaidyn, look at us and talk to us, babygirl." Tej coaxed, waving Letty away with an angry look. Kaidyn began to struggle to get up. Roman covered Kaidyn's ears.

"You need to go with that triggering bullshit." Roman ordered, annoyed and pissed off at Letty.

"I'm gonna kick…" Shayde jumped up, looking at Letty. Shayde knew Letty knew that blood was a trigger for Kaidyn. She knew she had to be doing this on purpose.

"You're gonna sit right here." Carter grabbed the back of her shirt, holding her back. He put his arms around her to keep her from charging Letty. "Relax. We still need to talk upstairs and you need to behave." He whispered in her ear. He glanced at Kaidyn, his eyes meeting hers for a brief moment.

"I need to get out of here." Kaidyn began to breathe hard, shaking her head. "Pleaseeeee, let me go." She begged, beginning to kick and scream. "I just need to get up." She begged. "I CAN'T BE HERE." She screamed, panicking.

"I'm sorry I didn't realize." Letty said, looking upset. "I just wanted to tell you guys to check her foot." Letty said, shaking her head.

"Just go and change please." Hector said, taking the cap off of the needle, shaking his head.

"She busted those stitches, Brian." Han said, looking at Kaidyn's foot as he held down her legs. Shayde got up to go look and Carter held her in his lap, almost hurting her from how hard he was holding her.

"No, you will stay here. She's being too crazy for you to get close to her." He warned, his voice low as he smirked at Kaidyn from behind Shayde.

"She won't hurt me. I need to help calm her down." Shayde whispered back in a furious whisper.

"That's why we have hired help, Sweetheart." He reminded her, squeezing her tighter.

"She can calm her down quicker than any of us can." Han informed Carter, letting him know they could hear him and trying to help Shayde out.

"I don't care. She's still not allowed over there." Carter snapped, sounding irritated.

"It's fine, Han. Can you just go over there and help?" She asked.

"Yup, that is what the hired help is for. I am on it." He shook his head, walking away, angered at how Carter was treating Shayde.

"Damn, I figured the stitches may not hold, it was a pretty deep cut. Can she have some more pain meds? I need her completely out to fix that. And I am gonna need some more light and bandages." Brian said, quietly.

"Yeah, I am on it." Hector nodded, drawing up the medication as he watched Brian.

"Come on, Blondie. You're okay. Hey, can you see me?" Roman asked, looking at her. She nodded, breathing very fast. She was almost hyperventilating. She looked over to see Shayde and began to really breathe faster.

"Hey Lil Sis, you're okay." Han stepped in front of her view, blocking Carter and Shayde. Kaidyn's breathing slowed down a slight bit.

"My nose is bleeding in my mouth." She said, turning her head. Blood came pouring out of her mouth. Her eyes rolled back in her head and turned pale and clammy.

"Oh Shit." Roman said, looking at Brian, panicked. "Brian!" He said, getting worried. "Brian, she bleeding ...a lot!" he said, looking up with panicked eyes.

"Stay calm, Ro. It's just a nosebleed." Brian promised, breathing hard as he rushed to stop the bleeding cuts and was working as fast as he could.

"Here Kaidyn, suck on this washcloth for me and we can get that out. You're okay, girl." Hector said, leaning over to look her in the eyes. "It's okay. You are okay. I promise." he coaxed.

"Hector." She held her arms up, choking from trying to talk.

"I'm here, girl." He promised, taking her hand and holding it.

"I don't feel okay, Hector." she whimpered. "I don't feel okay, am I okay?" She repeated and asked, looking very pale.

"You're okay. I promise." Hector nodded.

"We got you, Kaidyn, we're all here, your whole crew." Roman promised, rubbing her cheek tenderly. He looked at Brian nervously, hoping he wasn't lying.

"You sure she's okay? She's losing color." Jesse said nervously.

"Is she gonna be okay?" Tej asked quietly. Brian nodded, focusing on working on her foot.

"She's okay. I'm watching her." He promised. Shayde looked away from Carter, more pissed off than she could explain at the moment. She had to fight to keep her hands busy and her body from shaking from so much anger.

"THAT hurts really bad." Kaidyn screamed, coughing up blood that made her gag, kicking her leg when Brian touched it. She gagged more. She began to choke.

"Turn her head to the side, it's running down her throat." Brian ordered, watching Roman gently turn her head and seeing more blood pour out of her mouth.

"That's not good. That's a lot of blood, Brian." Roman said, his voice going up an octave.

"Roman, I need you to stay calm for her, okay? It's not helping if you freak out." Brian advised.

"Oh. I am calm. I am completely calm. Everything is copacetic, Homie. It's all good, Kaidyn. I am just messing with O' Connor here." Roman grinned at Kaidyn with a nod and a smile.

"Roman, shut up." Tej rolled his eyes.

"Easy there, Rapunzel, Brian's trying to help you. No knocking him out. I am gonna give you some more pain meds to help okay? Can you take some deep breaths for me?" Hector asked, tying a tourniquet on her arm.

"I'm dizzy." Kaidyn said, moving her head from side to side. She struggled to get up. "Let me get up, I'll be okay." She begged. "I don't want to be here. I want to go home. Please." She begged.

"This is your home." Carter said from where he was sitting.

"Carter, stop it. If you want to talk to her, I am going over there." Shayde warned, shaking her head, her fists balled up. She was not sure why Carter was being how he was being but she was getting pretty tired of it.

"They need help. I'm gonna help, Shay. I can't sit back and watch." Dominic got up and made sure to explain to Shayde what he was doing so she didn't shoot him. He went to stand by Roman and Hector towards the top half of Kaidyn.

"Dom, I need you to hold her arm still for me." Hector said, looking relieved to see some backup.

"I got it. Go." he said, bending down to help. "Kaidyn, how you doing, Kiddo?" He asked, watching her squirm. He rubbed her arm. "You're okay, Kid. We got you." He promised.

"I want up." She said, sweat starting to form on her forehead from fighting and trying to get up.

"I see that. How about we try to relax? I promise you it will all be better in a few short minutes." he said, his voice very calm and even. He wiped her mouth with his free hand. More blood came out of her mouth.

"I can't breathe, Dom." She cried, her voice a whisper as the medication got into her bloodstream. "I'm gonna die." She promised.

"No one is dying on our watch." Tej promised, rubbing her leg from where he was at.

"Give it a few, it will pass. I'm right here and making sure you're okay. You're breathing. It's the meds." Dominic promised. She stared at him wild eyed and intently like she wanted to talk but couldn't. A few seconds later she passed out, her body going limp.

"I think we should be good now. Let's get her on the table, guys. I can't do this with her on the floor." Brian said.

"Do we need to call a doctor?" Carter asked, looking at Brian.

"I think she needs to be looked over, yes." Brian nodded, his eyes holding Carter's intent stare, as if he were being tested. He wasn't sure why Carter was acting the way he was tonight but he knew this was the real Carter and he was likely going to get worse the more they were there.

"His flight will be here tonight. Whatever she needs will have to wait until tonight but Brian's gonna fix her until then." Shayde reassured him. "Thank you for helping her. Sorry I couldn't be over there to help." She said dryly, feeling Carter's grip on her leg tighten. She drew in a sharp breath.

"We appreciate all of you guys helping." Carter smiled at the group.

"Is this guy for real?" Roman muttered.

"Shut up, Rome." Brian hissed, as Tej made some noise as he 'dropped' something on the floor. Brian looked at Tej with a grateful smile and Tej nodded at him.

"I got blankets to lay her on." Jesse said, spreading the blankets out on the table. He was shaking, stressed from seeing Kaidyn in such a state.

"Thanks Jesse." Brian said. "Can you please go find me a light we can bring over here?" Brian asked. "You might have to look in another room." He nodded.

"Thanks for keeping him busy, Brian." Dominic said, knowing Brian knew how to read Jesse as well as he did.

"Yeah, no problem." Brian nodded, his eyes back on Kaidyn's foot.

"Brian, is she okay?" Tej asked, moving up to Kaidyn's side, holding her hand, watching him intently get a needle threaded for the stitches.

"Brian is all this necessary?" Letty asked.

"Oh look, it's Letty the girl who likes to traumatize Kaidyn." Roman grumbled.

"Excuse me?" Letty asked, her hand on her face where she had gotten kicked.

"Just saying. You knew she couldn't handle blood. Shayde literally told you she sees blood in flashbacks and yet there you were, in plain view of her to make sure she saw it." Roman accused.

"I told you I was just concerned about her foot." Letty defended herself.

"Enough. We don't need this right now." Carter ordered, his lips clenched together in irritation. "Brian, what is the situation?" Carter asked.

"Even if we get her to a doctor or we get a doctor here, she's gonna need this wound closed. I am gonna try to stitch up what she busted." Brian said, breathing lightly but shakily as he concentrated.

"Do whatever you think is necessary. I know you have the background and training" Carter nodded.

"No prob. I need everyone to try to stay close in case she wakes up. This is gonna hurt like hell and she might wake up." Brian said, taking a deep breath. He was hoping Shayde didn't pull a gun on him.

"Nice of you to consult me." Shayde mumbled, starting to get up.

"Where do you think you are going? I didn't say you could get up." Carter whispered in her ear. "I suggest you smile and look pretty or we will have more to discuss in the bedroom when we go to bed." He warned, not in the mood to play nice anymore. Shayde decided to just let it go. "Do we have a problem? Because we can just go now. Looks like they have her just fine." He continued to whisper in her ear.

"No, we are fine." Shayde sighed, too exhausted mentally to keep arguing with him right now.

"Shayde, I am calling the clean up crew to clean up in the garage. It's too much." Han said to Shayde, still in shock at the amount of blood there was.

"Just make sure to run the security clearance and please make sure they get the stairs and the carpets." She nodded. "Thanks Han." She said, feeling Carter's hand on her backside protectively.

"Already on it." He promised. "You good, bossman?" he asked, looking at Carter.
"I'll be okay." He nodded. "Thanks for what you are doing." he said with a nod.

"I am very proud of all of you for working together like a real team." Shayde said, giving a supportive pat to Tej on the shoulder and talking to all of them once Carter let her up.

"Team? Hell, we are not a team." Roman shook his head. "We are a family." He grinned. "Thank you for adopting me." He said, making them all laugh.

"Oh hell, our grocery bill, Carter." Shayde laughed.

"You know it's gonna be bad with me and Roman." Han laughed.

"Yup, I already started my list, Homie." Roman said, fistbumping Han.

"She's all stitched up. She needs to be kept medicated if possible." Brian looked at Shayde. "I tried my best. I am no doctor." He said apologetically.

"It's okay. I appreciate it. You did great." Shayde smiled at him. Carter got up quietly and walked out to the garage.

"Hector, can you do me a huge favor?" Carter asked as Hector came out in the garage where Carter had been standing, just looking around.

"Sure, what's up?" He asked, knowing Carter was bothered by all that had happened.

"Can you help fix that situation between Shayde and Dom? I am not getting in the middle of it but I need them to work that shit out." Carter asked, folding his arms as he looked around the garage.

"Yeah. I'll try my best. You sure all her guns are taken?" he asked, wanting to make sure things were not going to get too tense and Shayde pull a gun on Dominic again. She was known for being ruthless when being angry. That is what made her such a good assassin and protection for Carter all their years together.

"Yup. I got the last one." Carter assured him.

"You okay, Carter?" he asked, concerned. "You don't seem okay," he admitted.

"I'll be okay. I am more worried if Shayde will be okay to be honest." Carter put his hands in his pockets. "If Kaidyn is going to continue to be a risk to Shayde and be this dangerous, we may need to look at institutionalizing her." Carter mused, looking around at all the blood, glass and damage in the garage.

"Shayde's not in any danger." Hector looked at Carter, shocked.

"Oh, she is. How many times has Kaidyn hurt her? Let's be honest, Hector." Carter said, shaking his head with a smirk.

"A few times but nothing out of the ordinary. Shouldn't you be more concerned about the risk Kaidyn poses to herself?" Hector asked.

"My Shayde getting hurt at all is a problem, Hector. You know this. We could always ship her to her grandfather but he wouldn't accept her because she's so broken." Carter sighed in frustration, making Hector's face turn red.

"She's not broken, Carter." Hector objected.

"This is where you and I will have to disagree. If she is going to be a threat to My Shayde, she is not well. Not well people, especially those who can't seem to grow up, belong in an institution." Carter said, staring off, lost in thought. "Look at all the damage she has done." Carter said with irritation.

"Carter, she mainly damaged her own car. Shayde has damaged more than Kaidyn ever could." Hector said, shaking his head. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was beginning to worry if Kaidyn was right, maybe they should not have come to Florida after all.

"I love when my wife destroys stuff, it's showing me her fiery side. That's why I love her so much. She's so ruthless. But my daughter...she needs to learn her place and grow the fuck up." Carter admitted.

"Carter…" Hector said, then stopped. He was speechless.

"Is there a problem, Hector? Hmm?" Carter asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I think you should realize how much Kaidyn means to Shayde. You love Shayde so you gotta be there for Kaidyn too." Hector said, his pit in his stomach feeling sick. He could not believe Carter was talking this way.

"After eight years, Hector, you learn and realize what and who you really miss." Carter sighed. "I don't know if I am cut out to be a father to be honest with you." He said, lighting a cigar.

"Carter, you do realize, if you piss off Shayde by mistreating Kaidyn, she will leave you in an instant, right?" Hector asked, making Carter laugh.

"Hector, you know that is not going to happen. Why do you think I have three gates and an enclosed compound? Hmm? No one is getting off this property unless they leave in a bodybag." He laughed again. "Now go settle this little petty argument between Shayde and Dominic. I expect you to settle it before I have to step in and fix things the Cartel way." He threatened.
