Chapter 4
Peter and Alternate Peter walked down a sidewalk in Queens.
"Okay, Peter," Alternate Peter said. "You really think Green Goblin will come to Queens?"
"Yes," Peter replied, "you said he came to Manhattan and then Brooklyn. So, most likely he will come to Queens next."
"Good thinking, P," Alternate Peter said. "First sign of Green Goblin, we put our suits on and take care of this guy."
"You don't already have your suit on underneath your clothes?" Peter asked.
"Why would I do that?" Alternate Peter asked.
"Wow," Peter said. "I think that blonde hair dye is seeping into your brain."
Alternate Peter looked over to see giant mural of the original Avengers on a brick wall. This included Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, and Hulk.
"Look at that, P," Alternate Peter said. "The original Avengers before the additional heroes. It's just so unfair that Mr. Stark will not let me join!"
Peter looked at the mural. Seeing Black Widow and Iron Man brought tears to his eyes.
"P?" Alternate Peter asked concerned.
"I'm sorry," Peter said with his voice breaking. "It's just so hard to look at this."
"Oh," Alternate Peter said. "I'm sorry. I forgot about your Mr. Stark."
"And Black Widow," Peter cried. "She's dead too."
"Wow," Alternate Peter said. "I'm really sorry."
Peter took a deep breath and wiped the tears from his face.
"Thanks," Peter said. "Well, we'd better focus on…"
"Peter?" a voice asked.
Peter and Alternate Peter turned around to see a young girl their age. The girl wore a pink top and jean shorts. Her hair was cut medium length and dark red. Her eyes were dark blue.
"Hello, Mary Jane.," Alternate Peter said with a nervous smile.
"M.J.," Peter said.
Mary Jane looked at Peter.
"I'm sorry," Mary Jane said. "Do I know you?"
"This is my cousin," Alternate Peter said. "His name is also Peter Parker."
"Wow," Mary Jane said. "Two Peter Parkers. I bet that gets confusing."
"We mostly call him P," Alternate Peter explained.
"Well," Mary Jane said. "It's really nice to meet you, P."
"You too," Peter said.
"Well, I'd better get to the library before it closes," Mary Jane said. "I can't believe we have to do research papers using only library books as sources. What a dumb assignment!"
Mary Jane walked off and Peter looked at Alternate Peter.
"She's very pretty," Peter said.
"Back off, Parker," Alternate Peter said. "She's mine!"
"Chill," Peter said. "I have my own M.J. back at home."
Suddenly, a pumpkin bomb landed next to them. Alternate Peter grabbed Peter and ran. The explosion caused them to be thrown in the air. They then landed on the ground. The two Peter Parkers quickly stood up.
"You okay?" Alternate Peter asked.
"Yeah," Peter replied. "What was that?"
"It was a pumpkin bomb," Alternate Peter replied. "That's the main weapon Green Goblin uses."
"Pumpkin bombs," Peter said. "Interesting."
