Chapter 6

Peter woke up on the couch to see Alternate Aunt May sitting at his side.

"Aunt May?" Peter asked. "What's going on?"

"You passed out," Alternate Aunt May explained. "Peter, well my Peter, carried you back."

Peter looked over to see Alternate Peter sitting in a chair.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you," Peter said.

"It's okay," Alternate Peter said. "Are you okay?"

Peter sat up, and then fell back onto the couch.

"No," Peter replied. "I'm still dizzy."

"Maybe you need protein," Alternate Aunt May said. "I'll go scramble you an egg."

"Thanks, Aunt May," Peter said. "But I don't know if that will help."

The doorbell of the apartment began to ring. Alternate Aunt May walked over to the door. She then opened the door to see Darcy Lewis standing there.

"May Parker?" Darcy asked.

"Yes," Alternate Aunt May said. "Can I help you?"

"I'm Darcy Lewis," Darcy replied. "I'm here to see Peter."

Alternate Peter walked over to Darcy.

"I'm Peter Parker," Alternate Peter said.

"No," Darcy said. "I mean the Peter Parker from another universe."

Peter raised his hand and Darcy walked over to him. She then examined him.

"Are you with S.H.I.E.L.D. or something?" Peter asked.

"Don't talk," Darcy said. "I need to concentrate."

Darcy continued examining Peter.

"Interesting," Darcy said.

"What's interesting?" Peter asked.

"Did I not just tell you not to talk?" Darcy asked.

"Sorry," Peter said.

"This is Peter Parker seems to be an exact copy of the Peter Parker of this universe," Darcy said. "Well, except for the stupid blonde hair."

"How do you know he's from a different universe?" Alternate Peter asked.

"I'm a scientific genius," Darcy replied.

"Can I ask you a question?" Peter asked.

"I said stop talking," Darcy said.

After examining Peter for a few minutes, Darcy walked over to kitchen table and took out her laptop. She began typing in the information. Peter, Alternate Peter, and Alternate Aunt May walked over to her.

"Peter of the other universe," Darcy said. "Can you tell me how you got here?"

"I went into the basement of Avengers Tower, sat on this chair, and my foot hit a button," Peter replied. "Next thing I know, I'm waking up in an alleyway of this universe."

"Sounds like you got here by a molecular and atomic way," Darcy said. "It caused a strain on your body, which is now shutting down. At this rate, you only have 23 hours, 2 minutes, and 34 seconds to live."

"I'm dying?" Peter asked shocked.

"Yes," Darcy replied. "The only way to save you is by getting you back to your universe by using a similar molecular and atomic device. It should even out the effect."

"What if I just use a portal to get back to my universe?" Peter asked.

"You'll die," Darcy replied.

"What if I we find something or someone that can grant a wish?" Alternate Peter asked.

"The magic route," Darcy said. "The likelihood of that in 160 million to 1. He'll die before we can find it."

"But what if I…" Peter started to say before Darcy cut him off.

"You'll die!" Darcy exclaimed.

"If I…" Peter started to say.

"You'll die," Darcy said.

"If…" Peter started to say.

"You'll die!" Darcy shouted.

"Can you just let me say…" Peter started to say.

"You'll die," Darcy said. "You'll die, you'll die, you'll die. You are going to die unless we get you home on a molecular and atomic level."

"So, there's no hope," Peter said.

"Are you forgetting that we're science geeks?" Alternate Peter asked.

"You're right," Peter said.

"We may be able to create a similar effect if we work together," Darcy said.

"Okay," Alternate Peter said.

"However," Darcy said. "I'm going to need some technology that I don't have access to."

Alternate Peter gasped.

"I know," Alternate Peter said. "My best friend is Harry Osbourne! His dad is Norman Osbourne of Oscorp Industries! Maybe he can help us!"

"If we could get our hands on Norman Osbourne's technology, that would be great," Darcy said.

"I'm going to Oscorp right now," Alternate Peter said. "Hopefully Mr. Osbourne will help us."

"I'm coming too," Peter said.

"No," Alternate Peter said. "I can't risk you passing out on me again."

"But what if you see Green Goblin again?" Peter asked.

"I'm not worried about Green Goblin right now," Alternate Peter said. "I'm worried about you. You're the closest thing I've ever had to a brother and I'm not going to lose you."

"But if you see Green Goblin, I want you to fight him," Peter said. "My life is not worth the lives of other people."

"Okay," Alternate Peter said. "I won't let you down."
