Chapter 8

Peter, Darcy, and Alternate Aunt May sat at the table while Darcy did some research over alternate universes.

"So," Darcy said. "What made you want to become Spider-Man?"

"Well," Peter said. "A spider bit me while I was on a field trip, and then I got spider powers. What made me want to become a superhero was my Uncle Ben getting killed by a robber who broke into our apartment."

"I'm so sorry," Darcy said.

"My Ben was killed too," Alternate Aunt May said. "We were on a walk in Central Park for our anniversary when we were mugged. Ben tried to fight off the mugger and the mugger shot him right in front of me. He died in my arms."

"I'm so sorry, Aunt May," Peter said.

Alternate Peter and Norman entered the apartment with a bunch of gadgets.

"We're here," Alternate Peter said sitting some gadgets on the table. "And we brought some technology."

Darcy excitedly dug through the gadgets.

"Every physicists dream!" Darcy cheered. "I'm in heaven!"

"Who's she?" Norman asked.

"This is Darcy," Alternate Peter said. "She's helping us."

Norman looked at Peter.

"And I'm going to assume you're the Peter Parker from another universe," Norman said.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Osbourne," Peter said.

"You too," Norman said.

Norman looked at Alternate Aunt May.

"Hey, May?" Norman said. "Can I use your bathroom?"

"Yes, Norman," Alternate Aunt May replied. "Use the one in my room. The guest bathroom is being remodeled."

Norman quickly entered Alternate Aunt May's bedroom and shut the door. He then sat his bag down on the bed. He pulled a pumpkin bomb out of the bag.

"Do it!" Green Goblin's voice said.

"No!" Norman whispered. "I don't want to kill Parker!"

"Do it!" Green Goblin's voice said. "Kill them all!"

Norman sat the bomb on the bed, went into the bathroom, and locked the door. Peter knocked on the bedroom door.

"Mr. Osbourne?" Peter asked. "It's Peter from another universe. Are you okay?"

"Yes!" Norman hollered.

Peter opened the door and gasped at the sight of the bomb. He quickly picked it up and walked into the kitchen.

"I just found this!" Peter said, holding up the pumpkin bomb.

"In Mr. Osbourne's stuff?" Alternate Peter asked. "Why would he have a pumpkin bomb."

"That's a bomb?" Alternate Aunt May asked. "Let's call the police."

"And tell them what?" Darcy asked. "Hey, there's bomb in my apartment and the Green Goblin is using my bathroom!"

"Maybe it's not what it seems," Alternate Peter said.

"Mr. Osbourne is the Green Goblin," Peter said. "That's the only explanation."

"But he's my best friend's father," Alternate Peter said.

"I'm sorry," Peter said, walking towards the door. "We must evacuate the building!"

Alternate Peter and Alternate Aunt May followed Peter out of the room. They then stopped and turned to see Darcy packing up her computer and the gadgets.

"Seriously?" Alternate Aunt May asked.

"I have years of research on this thing," Darcy said. "And this is Oscorp technology!"

Darcy put her computer bag on her back and followed everyone out.

"How do we evacuate the building?" Alternate Peter asked.

"Are you serious?" Darcy asked irritated.

Darcy pulled the fire alarm and the alarm sounded loudly.

"Let's go," Darcy said.

The four quickly went downstairs and exited the building, followed by the residents of the building. Once outside, Darcy looked at Peter.

"Hey, Peter," Darcy said. "Give me the bomb."

"Why?" Peter asked.

"Maybe I can reprogram it," Darcy replied. "If I can manipulate it just right, I may be able to send you back to your universe on a molecular and atomic level."

"So, you literally want to blow him up to send him back to my universe?" Alternate Peter asked.

"Exactly," Darcy replied.

Peter sighed and handed the bomb to Darcy. Darcy carefully took it and put it in her purse. Alternate Peter and Aunt May watched as well.

"You're putting a bomb in your purse?" Alternate Peter asked.

"Not a good idea to say that out loud," Darcy said. "You and other Peter take care of Mr. Green. I'm going to my lab to work on this. Good luck, Parker."

"Aunt May," Alternate Peter said. "Go with her."

"Yeah," Peter said. "We'll take care of the Green Goblin."

"Okay," Alternate Aunt May said. "Both of you stay safe."

"We will," Alternate Peter said.

Darcy and Alternate Aunt May got into Darcy's car and quickly drove off. Peter looked at Alternate Peter and nodded. They quickly went into and alley and took off their clothes to reveal their suits underneath.

"Okay," Peter said. "Let's go catch Mr. Osbourne."

The two Peter Parker's put on their masks and began climbing up the wall. Suddenly, a young man pointed at them.

"It's them!" the young man shouted. "There's the two Spider-Men!"

A crowd of people walked over to them and cheered.

"Spider-Man!" a young girl shouted. "Have long has there been two of you?!"

"Hush!" Alternate Peter said.

"Everyone get away from the building!" Peter shouted. "Green Goblin's here! He has pumpkin bombs!"

Suddenly, an explosion came from a window. Everyone screamed and ran away. Both Peter's fell from the wall and onto the ground. Green Goblin burst through the wall on his hoverboard.

"You can't stop me, Parker!" Green Goblin shouted. "Or should, I say Parker's?"

Green Goblin threw a pumpkin bomb on the ground. It began lighting up.

"Peter!" Alternate Peter shouted before grabbing Peter and running.

The force of the explosion threw both Peter's into the air. Alternate Peter landed on Peter. Green Goblin hovered away. Both Peter's stood up.

"Are you okay?" Alternate Peter asked.

"I'm fine," Peter replied.

Peter looked to see the apartment building heavily damaged.

"Can't say the same for your apartment," Peter said.

"At least we got everyone to safety," Alternate Peter said.

"Spider-Mans!" a voice screamed. "Help!"

"Mary Jane?" Alternate Peter asked before looking up.

Green Goblin held Mary Jane on his hoverboard.

"Mary Jane!" Alternate Peter shouted. "You let her go!"

"Okay," Green Goblin said evilly. "I'll let her go!"

Green Goblin let go of Mary Jane and she began to plumet.

"No!" Alternate Peter shouted.

Green Goblin swooped down and grabbed Mary Jane once more.

"I'd choose your words carefully, Parker!" Green Goblin shouted.

"Peter?" Mary Jane asked confused.

Alternate Peter took off his mask, revealing himself to Mary Jane.

"You're Spider-Man?" Mary Jane asked.

"And so am I," Peter replied, taking off his mask as well.

"Your cousin is Spider-Man too?" Mary Jane asked.

"I'm not really his cousin," Peter said. "I'm actually from an alternate reality."

"Really?" Mary Jane asked. "How?'

"Well," Peter said. "You see…"

"Not important right now!" Alternate Peter shouted.

"Sorry," Peter said.

"You let her go this instant!" Alternate Peter shouted.

"Dude," Peter said.

"I mean, you bring her down here at once!" Alternate Peter asked.

"You want her?" Green Goblin asked. "Then come and get her!"

Green Goblin rushed away with Mary Jane still held captive.

"Peter!" Mary Jane screamed.

"Mary Jane!" Alternate Peter shouted.

"Don't worry," Peter said. "We'll get her….We'll get…"

Peter fell to the ground unconscious once more. Alternate Peter leaned over and began shaking him.

"Come on, Peter!" Alternate Peter shouted. "Wake up! Don't do this now! Wake up! I need you!"
