Hi everyone, so this is an idea I've had for a while and managed to get a lot written up for. It's a fairly long story about Kyle and also his brothers as well. I'll be uploading regularly and would love to hear what people think about it :)
After living in the Bay with his brothers for a while now, Kyle had finally settled into the family and was getting on with his brothers well. Kyle and Casey had agreed to put the past behind them and to focus more on being civil for the sake of their family and because they had too much to lose by being so young themselves. Casey started to realise that after finding out Kyle wasn't that much older than him and needed a family to be there for him, like Casey had his whole life.
A couple times that had questions about his past that Kyle couldn't answer. They just wanted to know more about their brother but he never had the answers they wanted. They knew he hadn't come from a good childhood so never wanted to press him about it too much, they just hoped that one day maybe they would find out more. Kyle knew he would tell them one day, he just never knew when the right moment would be, wanting to forget about it himself.
Braxton House
"Kyle, I need you to work a double on Friday and the afternoon Saturday, can you do it?" Brax asks his brother where he sat at the dining table while he sorted out the new rota for the upcoming weekend.
"Yep, that's fine. Aren't you going to a meeting this weekend in the city?" Kyle double checks, feeling like he had something else on but couldn't remember.
"Yeah, Ricky's coming with me but there should be plenty of staff to cover us." Brax says as Kyle sits on the couch. "You can have the start of next week off instead." He says.
"Okay." Kyle nods in thanks, glancing at the door as Casey walks in.
"All set for our night out this weekend?" Casey asks. "The boys confirmed they're all free."
"Oh…" Kyle mutters, now remembering that he agreed to a night out with Casey and their friends.
"What?" Casey asks, folding his arms.
"Brax needs me to work and I agreed." Kyle says.
"Brax!" Casey moans, staring at his brother. "We had this planned for ages now!"
"How is that my fault, he agreed to it." Brax shakes his head.
"In my defence I forgot that it was happening this weekend." Kyle says. "I can always come on another one the next time we plan one."
"You said you were coming on this one." Casey groans. "Why do you always forget?"
"It's not my fault, you know I have more responsibilities as manager. Just because the gym isn't open all night ruining your plans." Kyle says.
"You didn't have to accept the job as manager, I could have given it to someone else." Brax says.
"But the pay is better and you weren't willing to give me a pay rise if I didn't accept it." Kyle shrugs.
"Glad to know the business means something to you, Kyle." Brax shakes his head.
"Well it's better now, but it gets in the way of life." Kyle says. "If you took on an extra staff member, I think I could live my life more and not have to miss out on nights out."
"As manager it's your responsibility to cover the restaurant when I'm needed elsewhere for meetings. You knew that when you accepted the promotion." Brax stares at his brother, not impressed he was arguing over it.
"Kyle, I'd leave it if you want to live." Casey laughs, recognising his eldest brother's expression from the times he had caused arguments over things he didn't like. "We can do a night out another time, it's not like it's going to be the last one ever! Just make sure next time you book it off properly so this doesn't happen again." He smirks.
"I will be. I'm not missing out on another night out just to serve drunk idiots and people without IDs." Kyle says, avoiding Brax's stare.
"Not that people without IDs will be served or you'll be fired quicker than you were promoted." Brax warns.
"I don't serve them and you didn't promote me that quickly." Kyle mutters.
"I'm going for a shower while you are murdered for not keeping your mouth shut." Casey laughs, walking off into the hallway, Kyle frowning as he turns to his eldest brother, understanding what Casey meant now.
"I was joking about that, please don't fire me." Kyle quickly says.
"You're on your last warning." Brax firmly says, even though he was joking, he knew Kyle wouldn't work that out.
"When did I get the two other warnings?" Kyle frowns.
"Who said you needed them?" Brax asks. "I'm the boss, I can do what I want."
"Yeah but you wouldn't fire me for no reason, even you're not that evil." Kyle lightly frowns, trying to think about when he did get them.
"Don't assume I'm not, I've killed in cold blood." Brax calmly says.
"Yeah but that was years ago wasn't it? Doesn't mean you're the same now."
"You were the last person I nearly killed, does that count?" Brax asks, lightly smirking at Kyle's face.
"You wouldn't have killed me, you said so yourself before you walked away." Kyle says.
"Doesn't mean I meant it." Brax shrugs. "Now are you done so I can get the rota to Angelo's?"
"Yes." Kyle nods, frowning as his brother gets his things together before walking out.
Pulling his phone out, Kyle went on it for a bit, putting in the group chat that he couldn't make the night out anymore. Not long later, Casey came back out, winding his brother up about what Brax said. He found it funny that Kyle found it hard working Brax out, they all struggled at times. Him and Heath had grown up with Brax raising them both, so they had longer to work it out, Kyle didn't get that, so he didn't get the same experience as them.
"He will murder you one day, he's been close once." Casey shrugs, trying to hold in a laugh.
"He was only close because he just found out I kidnapped you, that was a valid reason. I don't see how questioning him would make it worse." Kyle says as Heath comes home from work.
"One thing you should have learnt about Brax by now is that you never question him about anything, unless it's to do with your job or whatever." Casey says, Heath agreeing with him.
"I learnt that the hard way growing up." Heath says, grabbing a beer from the fridge before joining them on the couch. "He goes easy on you two because you're only kids, so think yourself lucky."
"Kids?" Kyle raises an eyebrow. "I'm 20, I'm not a kid."
"Compared to me and Brax, yeah you are." Heath says, switching the TV on to find something to watch.
"Don't argue with him as well." Casey smirks. "You should really know Heath is worse than Brax in that respect."
"Yeah, a sprained wrist proved that to me." Kyle rolls his eyes.
"I never meant for it to go that far, you're just a sook." Heath shakes his head, remembering the massive lecture he got from the eldest Braxton when he got the call from the hospital about the incident.
"Hardly, you just don't realise how heavy you are, especially when you're drunk you didn't even know your own name." Kyle says.
"I'm not heavy, it's called muscle training." Heath says. "I need to prove to Brax that I can manage the gym and not have anything to go wrong, that means I need to know how all the machines work and make sure they work properly."
"No it's because you're trying to impress Trina, who might I add is a married woman." Casey says. "You don't see me checking the machines every time a certain girl walks in, and I'm a manager as well."
"Well she wasn't acting married when she kissed me the other day, or all the times before that." Heath says.
"It's called an affair, something that is going to get you into a lot of trouble when Liam finds out it's you." Kyle says.
"He won't ever touch me, I'll make sure of that." Heath says. "And would she really sneak around like this if it wasn't going to go anywhere?"
"You know it's not always like it is in the films, and the girl never chooses the other guy?" Kyle says. "Trust me, she won't choose either of you."
"Yeah, and how would you know that?" Heath asks.
"My ex cheated on me and she didn't choose me or the other guy, she went for someone else." Kyle says, thinking to himself. "Actually, I think she was sleeping with him as well."
"See, so she still went for a guy she was cheating on you with." Heath says.
"And who's to say Trina doesn't have a third guy as well?" Kyle retorts. "She's already cheating on Liam with you, so there's nothing stopping her from cheating on both of you with someone else."
"You better shut your mouth before I shut it for you." Heath glares, now questioning himself and she had been secretive to him, he just put it down to their affair.
"Now would be the time to shut up." Casey tells his brother.
"Very funny." Kyle mutters, all of them focusing on the TV instead.
