The Legend of Zelda
Memory's End
(Initially titled: Death of the Royal Family)
Preface
This is a sequel to my other fanfiction, The Legend of Zelda: After the Wild. If you haven't read that one yet, you will be missing out on a lot of context and character relationships. I have written this story in a way that fully expects you to have read the previous story.
If you have read that already, then go on ahead, reader!
Prologue
The war torn fields of Hyrule were piled with dead bodies and a foul stench. Despite the bravado of the Hyrulean forces against the menace of Demise's army, the battle left many shaken and broken. A bright light enveloped the land, and all of a sudden, as if it were in an instant, everyone was starting to get back up. Even the dead. Everyone rejoiced, as the menace of the enemy had left the field, and everyone would be capable of going back to their lives, if even a little traumatized. However, the Queen of Hyrule, Zelda, looked around with tears in her eyes, and then knelt down covering her face with tear droplets seeping through her hardened fingers. Her Knightly companion, Link, comforted her by patting her on the back, and even he himself started tearing up. Their daughter, Hilda, vanished to a separate dimension, one where she supposedly belonged to. The former king of evil, Ganondorf, looked down in shame, even though he had nothing to do with Hilda's disappearance.
While Zelda and Link mourned for their daughter, a young Hylian named Poump stood tall with his companions, Tipa, Uten, and Zhago. They were standing proudly at the victory they had taken. The cold corpse of Veerus laid eerily on the ground, stenching within her armor. Their journey had led them here to this moment. Saviors of Hyrule, and rich from their mission in escorting the foul monsters off of the mainland of Hyrule and onto a secluded island.
A few months have passed, the Yiga Clan has finally fused together with the Sheikah Clan, in which they live in peace and harmony. All remaining monsters left on the field were brought onto the secluded island away from Hyrule, and Poump and the gang continued to live their lives fruitfully, putting their well earned rupees to good use and applying the lessons they learned on their adventure to their good will.
6 years passed and eventually, during an organized banquet, Hilda returned from Lorule, the other dimension. She embraced her parents, Link and Zelda, and together, they welcomed her back to Hyrule, her home. Her legacy. Her birthright. The Kingdom of Hyrule for the past 6 years underwent an unprecedented period of peace. Never broken by any conflict that could've befallen the land. True peace was achieved.
