"HEY! What are you doing to him?" One of the boys turned and stared at her, sizing her up before opening his palms and letting explosions go off.
"Tch. Get out of here blue. Or else." He growled and let loose a decent sized explosion. In response, she used her quirk, sending the kids onto their backs. They ran off as Nejire approached the kid on the ground.
She looked at him and noticed several odd details. By no means was he the weirdest thing she ever saw, (he wasn't even in the top ten), but he was odd. He had two toned hair, his roots were as black as the new moon while his tips were blue like an icy glacier. He had a blindfold on his eyes yet seemed to be able to see, looking her in the eyes.
"Thank you" He spoke in a low tone, one easily missed if not paying attention. She helped him up before appearing in front of him.
"What's your name? What's your quirk? Are you from here? I'm Nejire Hado and I'm new! If you're not new, can you show me around? Why do you wear a blindfold over your eyes? Can you still see? Why were those guys beating you up? Are you okay? What-" It was at this point the boy backed into a tree, shaking.
Nejire backed up, her hands held out. "It's okay. I won't hurt you. I promise. Sorry for coming off like that. My friends say I'm too energetic. Like I said, I'm Nejire Hado, and I'm new. I just moved here"
"Noah. Just Noah. I'm not new, per se. And sorry" He looked down, scared he upset her. "I can show you around if you want, Nejire"
Nejire gave him a bright smile before once again appearing in front of him. "You called me Nejire. That means we're friends! Yay! I've got a new friend!" She started to float for a second before collapsing against him.
"Nejire, are you okay? And was I not supposed to call you Nejire? I thought that was your name. I can call you something else if you want" He put one of her arms around him, making it easier to hold her up.
"I-I'm fine. Just...tired" She started to close her eyes before keeping them open. "My quirk, drains my, energy. And don't, you know? You usually, call people, by their, last name" She gave a tired giggle as she tried to stay awake.
"Hey, stay awake. I don't know where you live so I can't take you home. At least tell me that and I can take you there"
Nejire giggled. "You call me by my first name without honorifics, and now you're asking to come to my house. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were hitting on me"
Noah turned bright red and glared at her "Don't think I won't drop you. Cuz I most certainly will. And sorry, it's been a while since I've been to Japan. I've been here a week and know my way around, but I was raised in North America. So I don't really remember Japanese culture. And just tell me"
Nejire pouted. "Meanie. Fine" He chuckled at her and took her to her house. ALong the way, he picked her up bridal style to make it easier on him as she fell asleep. He knocked on the door. A thirtyish looking man answered the door and glared at Noah. He gulped, nervous and shaking under his gaze.
"Why do you have my daughter in your arms?" Noah gulped again and looked ready to run. Nejire woke up from her tiny nap.
"Daddy?" She spoke in a tired tone. "Hey daddy. Meet my new friend. I just overused my quirk, hence why I'm here. He is perfectly harmless" She started to drift off again. "You're comfy Noah. Could you carry me in?" Noah went pale at this point, ready to piss himself under the even scarier glare of the man. Nejire's father then snorted before bursting out laughing.
"Man! You should see your face! It's hilarious!" He roared out while laughing as her mother walked in, saw the situation, put the pieces together and smacked her husband upside the head.
"I'm sorry dear. My name is Yuuma Hado, and this lug is Kai Hado. We're Nejire's parents. It's always a pleasure to meet our precious Nene's friends" She smiled at him and gestured for him to come in. Noah carried Nejire in and tried to set her on the couch, but she wouldn't let go. Her mother giggled. "I think she likes your arms and chest" Noah went bright red again, earning laughs from her parents.
"I'm Noah. Just Noah . It's a pleasure to meet you Mr and Mrs Hado. I'm kinda new as well, yet know my way around. I grew up in North America but was born to a Japanese couple. Sorry for any trouble I caused" Yuuma waved it off.
"Please, call me Yuuma. Mrs Hado makes me sound old. And what trouble would you have caused? Nene's the one who won't let go. If anything, we should be apologizing. So, how'd you two meet?"
"I was getting bullied and she saved me." Noah said bluntly. "I was being beat up and couldn't fight back, since laws say I can't use my quirk, since I don't wanna break the law. Since I don't use it, I'm viewed as quirkless. Hence the bullying. And you don't have to apologize. I have nothing else to do and nowh-" He cut himself off.
"What was that Noah? Nowhat? No, that's not right. Nowho? No. Nowhere? Yes, that sounds right. What do you mean, nowhere to go? And don't you dare try lying to me" Yuuma asked as she and Kai leaned forward. Noah gulped and tried to think of anything to say before sighing.
"I'm homeless. I ran away from home a couple of weeks ago. My father," He spit the word out as if it was acid. "Is a villain. A major one at that. I ran away since he's an awful person. I want to be the opposite of him. A hero. So I ran away. I sleep on the streets and go to school. I'm trying to get into the hero course. I should leave. No one wants a villain's child" Noah stood up to leave, finally getting Nejire off him, but was stopped by a hand. Nejire's hand to be exact.
She pulled him close and slapped him. Hard. His face turned from the force. He looked at her, immediately regretting it as she had a look of pure fury. "Don't you dare say that! You're my friend! I want you around! We may not have known each other for long, but I know that you're a good person! I will prove it to you!" She suddenly burst into tears. Noah stood still, shocked. He gently hugged her, holding her close. "And for saying that, I'm not letting go since you may run away!" She gave him a devious smirk. "That means you have to sleep with me~"
The effect was instant as Noah put a tomato to shame with steam shooting out of his ear. Nejire and Yuuma giggled as Kai roared out in laughter. Nejire stood up, leaning on Noah and holding his arm. Noah looked at Yuuma and Kai for help. Kai spoke, crushing that hope. "Sorry kid. Looks like you're living here for the imminent future. And I got some old pajamas you can wear. Now get to bed"
Noah sighed and was dragged off by Nejire, who was smiling like there was no tomorrow. Kai got up and moved next to Yuuma, wrapping an arm around her. "I think we did okay, don't you?"
"Of course Kai." Yuuma said. "Now, how much you wanna bet they end up together"
Kai chuckled. "It's a question of when, not if. I got within two years"
"I got three years, just before she goes to high school. And loser is on bottom"
"You're on, love" He smiled at her and carried her up to bed.
