ARRIVAL AT ACAMAR

The three crew members materialize on the surface. Erbrun immediately starts scanning. Morok approaches them. Gabriel steps forward, Erbrun on his left, O'Donnell at his right. Morok has a small group with them that appear to be servants.

MOROK "Welcome, Captain."'

GABRIEL "Thank you, Councilman. Allow me to introduce my officers. Lieutenants O'Donnell and Erbrun."

Morok looks questionly at Erbrun's scanning.

ERBRUN "I'm sorry this is a tricorder, simply a scanning device to help me learn more about your world."

MOROK "No apologies necessary, Lieutenant. Curiosity can be quite virtuous in certain contexts."

ERBRUN "Indeed as a scientist curiosity is quite essential in my field."

MOROK "Indeed. What is your field, Lieutenant O'Donnell?"

O'DONNELL "I'm head of security."

MOROK "Well we can certainly appreciate the need for security."

O'Donnell inclines his head in agreement.

MOROK "I'll take you to the council. Please."

Morok gestures for them to follow him. Gabriel walks beside him with O'Donnell and Erbrun follow close by. The servants take up the rear. GABRIEL "Councilman Morok, may I ask a personal question?"

MOROK "Why am I on the council despite the fact that I'm obviously not a politician or a diplomat?"

GABRIEL "Get that question alot?"

Morok smiles.

MOROK "Just self-aware, Captain. I'm a farmer by trade."

GABRIEL "Why did you come to the council then?"

MOROK "My district is mostly rural and frankly no one else wants the job."

GABRIEL "I see."

MOROK "I just want to serve my people."

GABRIEL "I definitely understand that."

MOROK "I can see that about you."

They walk into the council chambers
