FIRST MEETINGS
Gabriel, O'Donnell, and Erbrun stand before the Acamarian ruling council. The man in the middle in the tallest chair was obviously the Sovereign. Other council members watched the away team with interest. Erbrun watched the council members. O'Donnell kept an eye open for threats. Gabriel watched everyone watching everyone. Morok stood slightly to Gabriel's side.
MOROK "May I present Sovereign Oren of the Acamarian ruling council."
Oren stood.
OREN "Welcome to our planet. We owe the Federation a debt of helping us unite our people."
Gabriel stepped forward.
GABRIEL "I'm Captain Alex Gabriel. These are my officers Lieutenants Erbrun and O'Donnell. I come to represent the United Federation of Planets. I don't wish to use our history as a tool to coerce but I would appreciate that it would be taken into consideration in these negotiations."
Morok raised an eyebrow at that. Gabriel may not seem like a diplomat but he could be a strong speaker.
OREN "You speak plainly Captain and that honors us."
He steps forward to stand face to face with Gabriel. He was slightly shorter than Gabriel.
OREN "As elected ruler of Acamar I extend a hand of friendship to the Federation."
He extended his hand as he spoke.
GABRIEL "As a representative of the Federation... "
He took Oren's hand firmly.
GABRIEL "I accept."
Oren smiles.
OREN "Good. Shall we discuss, Captain?"
Gabriel nods.
GABRIEL "Please."
Oren walks to his seat. Gabriel and the rest of his party stand in the middle.
OREN "The council will now come to order."
Erbrun and O'Donnell shared an uneasy look
