Sonic the Hedgehog: Surprise Siblings

Sonic and Tails are at Tails's lab in the Mystic Ruins, Sonic being the guinea pig for Tails's DNA machine. Its purpose is to help lost orphans find the identity of their parents. Sonic was the perfect choice as he doesn't remember his parents.

Sonic: You sure this is going to work, Tails?

Tails: Yes, Sonic. I have tested the dangerousness of this machine, there is no danger to be found.

Sonic was happy to have Tails in his life. Not only did Sonic not remember his parents, but Tails didn't remember his parents either. To help the fox and to keep himself sane, Sonic and Tails signed legal contracts for Sonic to adopt Tails as his little brother. They have been brothers since they could remember. If there was anyone who knew each other, it was these two.

Sonic: Good, I don't want to be transformed into any unpleasant forms. My DNA has been transformed one too many times.

Just then, Amy Rose, Sonic's self proclaimed girlfriend, has run into Tails's workshop trying to find Sonic so she can spend some time with him.

Amy: Sonic! Hi!

Amy embraces Sonic in a hug.

Sonic: H-hey Amy.

Sonic always stammered when Amy was around. It was not because he had a crush on the girl, but it was because her sense of presence, if not calm and Happy, it was filled with love and overbearing. She also has a tendency to become furious when there was a huge obstacle getting between her and Sonic.

Sonic looks over Amy for a bit before noticing something different about her. Her top quill on her head was poking straight up.

Sonic: Hey Amy, not to be rude, but you have a little something… *he points to his forehead*

Amy brings out a mirror from her Hammerspace a gives it a look

Amy: Aw shucks, this happens every day. I can't believe I forgot to brush this morning

Amy brings a brush out of Hammerspace and brushes furiously sending hair follicles all around. One of her hairs flies onto the tray of Sonic's hair.

Sonic: Do you always bring a mirror and brush with you everywhere?

Amy: Well of course, I need to look perfect when following you around.

Tails gets done working on a side project and heads to grab the tray of hairs for his machine.

Tails: I know you don't have such a big ego anymore Sonic, but people and mobians care about how they look in public.

Sonic: I know, I just didn't know Amy carried around a mirror and brush in her hammerspace.

Amy: Watcha doing Tails?

Tails: Oh, Sonic is testing out my new DNA machine, since Sonic and I are orphans, this DNA machine is built to find our parents.

Tails carries the tray for the machine to scan the DNA

Amy starts thinking about her parents, but she can't remember anything about them.

Amy: H-hey Tails?

Tails: Yeah?

Amy: Do you mind if I watch? And after Sonic and you do it, may I try?

Tails: I don't mind if you watch, but this is Sonic's DNA. I shouldn't be the one to answer. And Of course you can try.

Sonic: I don't mind Amy watching either, at this point, she's part of the family.

Amy: Aww Sonic, that's so romantic!

Tails chuckles a bit before hearing a ding from the machine signifying it's done.

Tails: That's weird, I was expecting to be done earlier.

Tails checks the tray to see Amy's strand of hair.

Tails: Hey Amy, looks like you'll get your result earlier than expected.

Amy: Why's that?

Tails: When you were brushing your hair, a strand of it fell into the tray.

Sonic and Amy sit down on a few chairs to see their results.

Machine: *brings up a blue strand of hair* Sonic Maurice Hedgehog *brings up a pink strand of hair* Rosy the Rascal

Amy chuckles at her biological name, she hasn't used that name since she had changed her dress.

Machine: Sonic Maurice Hedgehog: Parents: Jules Hedgehog and Bernadette Hedgehog *the machine brings up an image of the two*

Sonic: *blinks* Who? I have been all around the world, and I have not seen nor have heard of them at all.

Amy: Maybe they are in another world, we aren't too unfamiliar with different worlds.

Tails: Yeah, remember Chris?

Sonic: Yeah, that's true.

The machines continued with its Analysis.

Machine: Rosy the Rascal: Parents: Jules and Bernadette Hedgehog.

Amy: Wait, wait, wait, wait wait wait. What?!

Sonic: Did the machine just say you have the same parents as I do?

Tails: Maybe it's a glitch?

Machine: Sonic and Rosy: Relationship: Brother and Sister

Sonic and Amy stare at each other dumbfounded at what the machine has depicted.

Sonic: This is strange, I never thought of you being my sister, I thought of you as like, one of my best friends.

Amy looks shocked for sure, but she looks amazed and a little… hurt.

Sonic: Amy, you okay?

Amy: Yeah… I'm okay

Sonic: Amy, I know when you're not okay, and that is now. Also, I'm apparently your big brother, it gives me more incentive to figure it out.

Amy: It's just… All these years, I have been chasing you, chasing you for love, I love you Sonic. In a romantic way, and… then today, I have been told by a machine that you're my brother. Were all those years wasted?

Tails motioned to Sonic to give him and Amy some alone time. Trusting his brother to raise Amy's spirits, Sonic went to the kitchen to make himself a chilli dog.

Tails: Amy… from experience. I can say that those years were not wasted

Amy: Why? I was chasing my brother for like 6 years for him to become my boyfriend, that's awkward.

Tails: Hey, you didn't know, that's no excuse. And… you know what *starts whispering* just between us two, I kind of had a bit of a crush on Sonic when I was 5.

Amy: *whispering* really? *stops* Well what made you accept that you two were brothers?

Tails: It was when I became less obsessed with Sonic and started to give myself more independence.

Amy: But we became less dependent on Sonic around the same time, you defeated Eggman's Egg Walker and I destroyed Eggman's robot to grab the birdie. But I still have romantic love for Sonic.

Tails: Everyone is different, but I think of your case, it was competition.

Amy: Competition? But, as far as I remember, besides me, no-one has a crush on Sonic.

Tails: Hmm, your obsession of him had all the signs of love competition though. Maybe… yeah that might be it.

Amy: Tails…

Tails: Do you remember when Sonic and Megaman stopped Eggman and Wily?

Amy: Yes…

Tails: During our adventure, we ran into Shadow, and when he Chaos Controlled away from us, we faintly remembered a 2nd Genesis Wave, before the one Sonic stopped. Perhaps that Genesis Wave possibly made us forget our parents, forget all about our pasts.

Amy: That's scary to think about. That our parents are out there worrying about us, and we're not writing back.

Sonic walked in with a plate with 5 chili dogs on it.

Sonic: Hey, you okay Amy?

Amy: About the years wasted, I am feeling better, but Tails has considered something a little scary.

Tails: That the genesis wave we barely remember probably made us forget about everything about our pasts.

The Chilli Dog that Sonic was holding was dropped to the ground.

Sonic: That is scary, but don't worry sibs, we can find our parents.

Amy: Now that is going to take some getting used to.

Tails: Yeah, but now we are literally a family.

Amy: Oh yeah, we got this, little bro *she punches Tails's Arm*

Sonic, Tails and Amy laugh.

Meanwhile on a different world in Knothole

Jules: Hey Honey

Bernadette: Hey Jules.

Jules: So how was your day with Aleena?

Bernadette: It was great. Aleena has great taste in restaurants.

Jules: Haha, did Manic or Sonia intrude on your guys's relaxation?

Bernadette: You mean your offspring with Aleena? No they didn't, they were off to get Mecha Sally and derobotize her.

Jules: Wait, is she back?

Bernadette: She is in the middle of the process. Ah, if only Sonic was here to see his friend back to normal.

Jules is now feeling bad.

Jules: How long has it been since he has disappeared?

Bernadette: It's been 7 months now. Sonic has never been gone for this long.

Jules is starting cry

Bernadette: Hey hey, don't cry. Rotor is currently making something to find him.

Jules: I hope so, I miss him so much.

Bernadette: I miss them both. Sonic and Amy, but we must not give up on them.

Jules: They probably don't even know they're siblings.

Bernadette: They're smart, they'll figure it out.
