Plato's Children
Christine
Humiliation,
At the hand I had been dealt,
Plato's smug face when he forced the Enterprise's first officer to kiss me,
And the restraint that Spock attempted to use to halt the force.
Suffocation,
As the air left my lungs,
Choking me at the realization of Plato's cruel plan,
I felt my throat tighten.
Anticipation,
Of what I coveted for almost three long years
Spock's lips absorbing mine,
Our mouths becoming one,
Our tongues dancing around each other's mouths,
But at what price?
Exploitation,
Forcing a Vulcan to convey actions for feelings that he doesn't hold,
My heart wept at the idea that my dream would come true through coercion against Spock's will and desire.
It was as shattering as a supernova.
Resignation,
That this would be the only time I would ever kiss Spock in my life time,
But it gave neither of us joy.
I wanted to curl up in a ball and die.
Instead, I vowed to disregard him and depart the Enterprise.
