Creating techniques - Blood Stream Sect
After all, Bai Xiaochun was much more experimented then what his body or his cultivation would suggest. He had lived for countless years before being reincarnated and now that he was in the arcane pocket realm, he could recall all of his experience much more easily. For someone who already had enlightement on the Essences of all things, it meant the arcane pocket realm was an incredible opportunity!
Now I can help the future River-Defying Sect by creating techniques that will make the younger generation stronger AND increase their chances in becoming devas!
Suppressing his excitement, he took a few deep breath to calm himself. Using the Frigid School Will-Evolving Incantation as inspiration, he had some ideas how to make two Core Formation techniques...
The Frigid School Will Evolving Incantation is really incredible. It alter the structure of Heavenspan Water and following the yin and yang principles, it transform it into two things: Will and Frigid. But its weakness is that it has such harsh requirements when it comes to a cultivator foundation. So instead, I need to change the technique by starting from the cultivation requirements... From there, I am sure I can make the yin aspect of the technique manifest other elements then Frigid!
He decided to start visualizing a cultivation technique suited for the Blood Stream Sect, perfect for those who practiced blood cultivation. After a while, he reopened his eyes, who were glistening with the light of augury!
"Blood boil in iron veins"... Although there is countless variations, the Essence of blood cultivation lies in the fire and metal element. Althought the Blood Annihilation World itself focus more on the fire aspect, it's certainly has some metal element to it... Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to create blood swords! If I make blood cultivation the requirement for this Core Formation legacy, it could actually bond two elements to your Core! And if one start absorbing Heavenspan water at the Core Formation stage to cultivate this technique, it will be much easier compared to how I did it at the Foundation Establishement stage!
Bai Xiaochun felt satisfied but then, a thought came up in his mind and he sighed a bit regretfully at the realization:
Unfortunatly, it means only people who cultivated the Blood Annihilation World will be able to cultivate it. Even if I gained enlightement in the Essences of all things, it seem I cannot ignore the basics... Well, it's not that important. Having more then one technique that can built up the power of Will is what I wanted anyway. Now, let's see... Since you need to use your blood Qi reserves to cultivate it, it needs to be a body refinement technique. The rest should be easy enough to design...
Clearing his mind and as he keep reviewing the legacy in detail until he thought it was perfect...
He decided to name it the Infernal Iron Will Forging Incantation. To start cultivating this legacy technique, you need to slowly absorb one drop of the Heavenspan water and boil it entirely with the blood Qi inside your body. Circulate the resulting blood mist inside your body. The blood vessels will be tempered and become silver lines all over the user's body. It will also make your skin radiate intense heat, turning it fiery red.
As you cultivate this legacy, your body will become as tough as the toughest metal while also making you able to incinerate anything you touch. At the great circle, the silver lines on your body will no longer be visible as your whole body will look like deep sea meteoric iron while the intense heat of your body will be so intense that it will shatter the air around you! That was a very domineering technique that would still be useful even in the Nascent Soul stage!
Satisfied, he started to think about the second technique he wanted to make...
He decided he would make a Core Formation legacy using cultivation pills this time. This way, our hero was certain anyone with the right pills would be able to cultivate this legacy!
Bai Xiaochun was even more inspired this time, completely engrossed in the creation process:
This cultivation method will need three kind of cultivation pills and gives you three different abilities. First, I'll need to improve the recipe of the Breakup Pill so that it become the foundation of your Core. The first ability it will give the cultivator will be supportive in nature, allowing you enter a mental state where it will increase your focus, the sharpness of your mind and your divine sense. If I'm not wrong, It should also make one able to resist soul-search and resistant to pain to some degree. It might not be a flashy technique... but it will still be incredibly useful! Once you finally reach the mid level of Core Formation, it will be completely absorbed, slowly transforming your core into a Plant Core.
At mid level of the Core Formation stage, you'll need a different pill to keep going... And the pill needed will be an improved version of the Aphrodisiac Pill! Only taking the pills in this order would make it safe to absorb Aphrodisac Pill inside your Core, making you completely immune to its effect by the time you reach late Core Formation stage. The ability given this time will be a huge boost to the cultivator's physical prowess and regeneration...
And finally, once you reach the late stage of Core Formation... You'll need to absorb an improved version of my Fantasy Pill! At this point, you'll be able to send a pink mist out of your body on a very large area. That mist will create a world of illusions, one that will override all six senses of your opponents. And since the illusions created inside would be forming from one deepest desires, it will be almost impossible to counter or dispel them within the same realm of cultivation AND without a steely resolve!
Bai Xiaochun kept working on the technique to make sure it was perfect and couldn't be improved further. After a long time, he was finally satisfied. Truth be told, he was also very proud of his work. He loved those two cultivation technique so much that he almost wished he could replace his own Core Formation legacy with one of them.
I shall name this second legacy technique the " Succubi Mirroring Will Incantation ". Perfect! It perfectly copies the Succubi racial abilities but without their wicked nature. And I am sure the River-Defying Sect will make sure to not encourage such behavior.
Bai Xiaochun kept sighing in contentement. Making a quick calculation, he suddenly realized he had used 4 days of time...
From that point, he then decided he would attempt to create a completed version of the Sun-Moon Vast-Sky Incantation. He knew the future River Defying Sect wouldn't own a complete deva realm cultivation technique so he might as well create one for them. Althought deva techniques were far more complicated then Core Formation techniques, Bai Xiaochun had cultivated this one before by combining it with the Cloud Lightning Forefather Transformation. Since he had a foundation to work with, it was able to complete it in only 36 hours.
Having only a day and a half left, Bai Xiaochun decided to use his remaining time left to do a few things. First he created a few pill recipes for future pill concocting sessions. Then he started to think about the future events that have yet to come and wrote some of them using a cypher for his future self to remember. And finally, in the last hours remaining, he started polishing his Arcane Gravitational Repulsion technique... and started working on creating a new technique, combining the Heavenly Watchdog Eclipse Cover and the Blood Annihilation World.
One week passed and Bai Xiaochun was ejected from the arcane pocket realm. The elder guarding it was surprised when Bai Xiaochun walked off. Somewhat, this kid gave him the impression to be older and smarter then he look. And now, his cultivation felt way more incredible then it had one week earlier. Bai Xiaochun was still too muddleheaded from his return from the arcane pocket realm to appreciate the elder reaction but he heard the elder saying there Gongsun Yun came here a few days ago and that he had to send him away. Bai Xiaochun learned only now that the arcane pocket realm had a cooldown time between each uses. As such, Gongsun Yun would only be able to enter it next month.
Bai Xiaochun was glad to hear that, as he had forgotten to give something crucial to Gongsun Yun. There was simply too many prying eyes at the celebration ceremony they had before for his return. He returned to his immortal cave to make sure he was in prime condition for what was coming next. Three days later, he had completely recovered. Eyes glistening with malice, he looked inside his bag of holding and took one magnetic sphere from inside. He had put the flesh mask inside during his trial of the Fallen Sword Abyss. Before breaking the sphere, he activated his Heavenspan Dharma Eye to make sure the flesh mask containing Nightcrypt soul's wouldn't fly away. Grabbing it, he talked to Nightcrypt directly with half a smile on his face:
" Nightcrypt, come greet Lord Bai. Or maybe you would prefer I throw that mask in the water of the Heavenspan River? "
Hearing this, the mask trembled. Nightcrypt spirit slowly rose up from the mask. His face was a mask of terror. Not in his wildest dreams would he have guessed that Bai Xiaochun would know a way to deal with this seemingly indestructible mask but also know his name!
Trembling a little from fear, he bowed deeply: " This Nightcrypt apologize if I offended Lord Bai in any way. Please have mercy on me!"
Bai Xiaochun chuckled: " Do not worry, I am going to spare you... and bring you back to the Blood Stream Sect. Only together we will be able to get the relic of eternal indestructibility after all. And if you want to live, you'll need to work with me. Do not worry. If you work up with me to the fullest, I'll do my best to compensate you in the future. But do not forget you are working for me now, not for them! "
Stunned, Nightcrypt felt like it was striken by a thousand bolts of lightning. Under Bai Xiaochun gaze, he felt like every secrets he had was being exposed. And from what Bai Xiaochun was saying, he did not work for the mysterious group who had implemented him as a spy in the Blood Stream Sect... but still knew about what this mysterious group was doing. He felt stuck between a rock and a hard place. But since Bai Xiaochun was in control of his existenceright now, he couldn't go against him so he quickly agreed.
Now that Bai Xiaochun assured Nightcrypt cooperation, he started to prepare his things and do rounds around the Sect. Among all the visits he did, he went to see Gongsun Yun for a private chat. To Bai Xiaochun surprise, Gongsun Wan'er was there as well and Gongsun politely remarked he had no secret for his sister and asked if she could stay. Smiling, Bai Xiaochun said he didn't mind, saying he only had a few instructions for him:
" I'll be leaving for a journey very soon, I want to seek experience outside the sect. Next month, you'll be able to go to the arcane pocket realm to seek enlightement. But I'm counting on you to seek enlightement on the first part of this secret magic before you seek enlightement on your cultivation legacy..."
He then picked a jade slip from his bag of holding, giving it to Gongsun Yun. As he was about to read it, our hero added a reminder with an intense glare:
" And remember, only the first part. Do NOT start cultivating the second part at least until I come back from my journey. Trust me, you'll have enough to seek enlightement from with only the first part and your own cultivation technique. If you did as I said, I'll give you even more good fortune when I'm back. "
Gongsun Yun was startled but he promised up and down to do just as Bai Xiaochun said. Smiling, Bai Xiaochun rose up and turned around. As he was about to exit the immortal cave, he said: " And don't tell anyone else about all of this please. I'm trying to keep a low profile. If you want to thank me, respect this wish of mine. That's all I ask."
The Gongsun twins were so surprised that words were stuck inside their throats. Sundenly, Bai Xiaochun seemed much older and wiser, like a member of the oldest generation. Only after Bai Xiaochun left the immortal cave that Gongsun Yun remembered he still had to read the jade slip. Once he realized what it was, he started trembling. His eyes seemed like they were about to pop out of his skull!
" T-That's... The Waterswamp Kingdom... He-he just gave me the Waterswamp Kingdom secret technique! "
The Gongsun twins were unsure what was going on with Bai Xiaochun or how he could get a second copy of the Waterswamp Kingdom. After all, it was well known he had used the technique inside the Fallen Sword Abyss. In their minds, it couldn't be the same jade slip because every sects had strict rules on that matter.
After a long discussion among themselves, they both admitted that they couldn't bring themselves to hate Bai Xiaochun as before. They were even wondering if Gongsun Wan'er should try to convince Bai Xiaochun to follow him on his journey for experience. Somehow, she had being charmed by his fearsome apparence in the Fallen Sword Abyss and by his generosity.
But little did they know that Bai Xiaochun had visited Gongsun Yun last and was already on his way to the Luochen Mountain time by the time they finished this discussion. Soon, he put the flesh mask on and went inside the Blood Stream Sect territory.
Nothing eventful happened until he received his mission to refine a corpse so he could qualify for the new trial of fire. Once he was alone with the corpse, Bai Xiaochun started to revise the incense he would be making to make his emerald zombie...
I need to make it a bit stronger this time. I got to adjust the formula so that its at the peak of Qi Condensation stage...
He revised the corpse refining incense he did last time and try to add more corpseflowers as well as a few key ingredients. After he was done concocting, he was pretty satisfied that the incense created was long as long as his middle finger. However, recalling the time he had took to get to the creation of his emerald zombie, he had to wait for half a year to be able to use it if he wanted to maintain the timeline.
There was nothing that could be done in the matter so he left the corpse refinery and returned to his residence to refine blood Qi and train his other techniques. After sixth month has passed, he used the incense he had created a few month earlier to create his emerald zombie. He was prepared for the result and he ran outside as soon as he began to see the green strands.
When confronted by Xu Xiaoshan, he laughed in a laugh that sounded both surprised and full of pride:
" This day will be remembered as the day as I, Nightcrypt, created a brand new kind of zombie! "
The words shocked everyone around Bai Xiaochun and that made them hesitate for a moment. That left plenty of time for Bai Xiaochun to call his emerald zombie to his side to protect him, as well as all the other zombies now in his control.
Xu Xiaoshan was stunned for a moment before taking a deep breath and scream: " You still destroyed my corpse refinery! I deserve compensation and its the same for all the zombies you took control off with impunity. Otherwise, do you think all of us here will let you live another day?! "
With Xu Xiaoshan fanning the flames, the others began to curse Nightcrypt again and started to show signs of aggression. Bai Xiaochun remained the same but inwardly, he was afraid he would have to fight so many Chosen.
Fortunately for him though, the commotion had attracted some elders who reported the situation to the Corpse Peak's grand elder. He suddenly appeared in the crowd, looking at the green zombie with glistening eyes.
Seeing the Corpse Peak grand elders, the other's temporarily let go of their anger to bow to him and greet his arrival. Althought Nightcrypt looked fearless and pleased with himself, Bai Xiaochun was relief inwardly. He also saluted the arrival of the grand elder, who ignored everyone to approach the green zombie to examine it.
Once he received the rewards from the grand elder, Bai Xiaochun was approched by Xu Xiaoshan. He regretted that he had rilled up the crowd of cultivators earlier to hopefully gain compensation. He apologized profusely to Nightcrypt who kept an irritated expression. Sighing, he gave the recipe of the incense used to make the emerald zombies to Xu Xiaoshan. Nightcrypt voice was cold but his tone was otherwise polite: " Senior, I still need you to give me a grade for my assignement. I hope if I provide you with the way to make the emerald zombies that you will forgive the damage done and that you'll be giving me a passing grade at the very least."
Xu Xiaoshan was so happy that he gave Nightcrypt the best of grades for his assignement. There was still a few months before the next trial of fire and Bai Xiaochun focused on his cultivation during that time. However, once he reached the five mammoths stage, his cultivation of the Undying Muscles because much slower. Fortunately, Bai Xiaochun had other techniques to train diligently.
Sometimes, he would even take the time to write small stories where the main character was always heroic, pure, smart, brave and insanely strong. During his writing sessions, he would sometimes take out the jade slips he wrote in the arcane pocket real and destroy them once he was satisfied with what he wrote. By the time he destroyed the last one, all those original jade slips were destroyed, replace scrolls of papers.
During the next trial by fire, Bai Xiaochun was shaken to his core to see Song Junwan once again. He glanced at her but then had to lower his eyes and close them. This had required quite a bit of willpower from his part. She was as beautiful as he remembered, if not more. He was conflicted but among the wifes he had in the past life, she had given him the most lovely daughter in the whole world.
Last time, my acting had being flawless but there is no way I'll try to replicate the same conditions this time. Too risky. I'll just have to be more careful.
Song Junwan had sensed Bai Xiaochun gaze and could even sense how choked and emotionnal he had become after looking at her. Song Junwan knew the effect she could have on men and presumed instantly he was being overhelmed by her beauty. She instantly find that junior pleasing to the eyes as it was flattering her ego. From the way Bai Xiaochun's lips was quivering and how his breathing was difficult, she couldn't help but feeling touched to some degree.
The trial's events remained the same. In fact, Bai Xiaochun was surprised to see a familiar green grass snake inside the trial. Even worst, it no longer had its mouth's closed because of the Shut Your Trap pill and it did notice Bai Xiaochun. Our hero ran away, cursing himself inwardly to not have improved the Shut Your Trap pill recipe when he had the occassion.
When Zhao Wuchang offered him to become his slave for a sixty year cycle, Bai Xiaochun answer was different this time:
" Zhao Wuchang, I will reward your decisiveness with one Foundation Establishement Pill. If you swear an oath to go on Corpse Peak, I will give you another one! "
Zhao Wuchang automatically agreed to the condition, taking the two Foundation Establishement pills eagerly. He managed to reach Foundation Establishement with a single pill, making the other one he had a reassurance his clan could have the chance to have another Dharma protector in the Blood Stream Sect!
When asked what he wanted to do with the remaining pills by the elders, he answered with a bitter tone in his voice:
" Althought I couldn't reach Foundation Establishement in the Fallen Sword Abyss, I have gained enlightement on the Dao of medicine by studying the way the disciples of the Pill Stream Sect concocted medicine. I finally managed to make a tier 3 poison pill and right now, what I need the more is to increase my success rate when concocting pills. I plan to study those Foundation Establishement pills to solidify my foundation and hopefully, maybe create my own Foundation Establishement pill recipe! "
The elders gasped when hearing he had gained enlightement in pill concocting during the trial in the Fallen Sword Abyss and his answer consolided their opinion about him. And even thought Nightcrypt admitted his success rate wasn't high and that he only managed to make a tier 3 pill recently... he still had crossed that landmark!
Bai Xiaochun was surprised: their bickering was even more intense this time around! He recovered quickly though as after all, it was within his scope of rediction. After all, he did took the risk to reveal them he was able to make tiers 3 medicinal pills. However, he didn't let them argue for too long and joined Middle Peak once again, an infatuated look on his face.
The elder of Corpse Peak sighed and once again gave Nightcrypt his medallion, so he could come to Corpse Peak whenever he wanted. Zhao Wuchang followed the elder back to Corpse Peak.
Bai Xiaochun waited for the night to come before going to Xuemei immortal cave and take blood Qi for five breath out of time before returning to his immortal cave. As soon as evening fell during the next evening, he went to Corpse Peak to talk to the grand elder about corpse refinement techniques. When he left, he made sure to steal some blood Qi from Corpse Peak before leaving. He waited a few days then redid the same pattern.
In this timeline, Bai Xiaochun stole Blood Qi from Corpse Peak and from Xuemei immortal cave only. Although he wouldn't admit it, our hero was extremely worried about Master God-Diviner and his mastery of augury techniques. Therefore, he only went to steal blood Qi from Corpse Peak, using his relationship with Zhao Wuchang as a excuse or to talk with the grand elder. He made sure to have no predictable path doing so.
This time, even though the Corpse Peak disciples were getting incensed slowly but surely, nobody could connect him with the events. And since he had sent Zhao Wuchang on Corpse Peak, our "hero" had inside information to rely on. Even if poor Zhao Wuchang quickly realized what was going on and even plead Nightcrypt to stop, it did no good. The only thing he could do was to make sure he had an alibi when Bai Xiaochun was around or pretend to also be a victim of the blood Qi thieving fiend.
As he was about to reach the power of nine mammoth, something new happened... Suddenly, Corpse Peak was constantly being patrolled by enormous amount of zombies! He learned from Zhao Wuchang that every cultivators on Corpse Peak came into an agreement and would send their zombies to patrol at night with the order to attack anyone they see taking blood Qi!
Surprised and afraid, Bai Xaiochun knew that he couldn't cultivate on Corpse Peak any further. In any case, when forming the Berserk Ghost Body, there would be a threshold which he needed to overcome... and would need to do so by absordbing the blood Qi next to Xuemei immortal cave. Only then would he have enough blood Qi to surpass it. Sighing, he realized it was time to go to the next step in his plan...
For that, he went around to do some inquiries. He wanted to be alone with Master God-Diviner but he realized it would prove harder then he expected. Master God-Diviner rarely would leave his immortal cave and the only times he would allow visitors were when he would charge for a divination session. And if you were a Dharma Protector, the amount was even more ridiculously high! Bai Xiaochun sighed and decided the nice way wont work after all as he refused to get advantage off... at least not from HIM.
Bai Xiaochun decided he should go for a more direct approach. After making some preparations, he waited until it was a few hours before dusk to go near Master God-Diviner immortal cave. Then, he crushed a few medicinal pills he had hidden within his fists...
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Got two jobs, working between 48 and 60 hours for the last month... And an amazing girlfriend that can be a bit needy. Wish I had more time but RL makes me VERY busy LOL
In any case, when I was brainstorming, I realized it would make sense that Bai Xiaochun would give the River-Defying Sect the means to raise in prominence during his time in the arcane pocket realm. And I think I did a fair job at creating techniques that fit his own understanding of the Dao, using the techniques he learned in the past and what would he accomplish with such knowledge. With two new Core Formation technique that are both more powerful AND more accessible to every cultivators, the numbers of cultivators able to reach the Nascent Soul stage would increase. And now with a complete Deva realm technique, all they miss is a way for the cultivators of the River-Defying sect to increase their chances in reaching the Deva realm... which will come in due time.
As you can see, Bai Xiaochun decison's were more clever this time while in the Blood Stream Sect. Doing it this way removed the chances of him getting caught by Master God-Diviner and because he was only doing it once a week, even though Corpse Peak was still incensed, the build-up had being slower... and their solution was vastly different from what Middle Peak did lol
