"Conspiracy"

"Hey, hey, don't look at me like that, I'm just saying, Izuku doesn't look much like All Might, even if their Quirks are similar."

Shoto scowled harder at the ginger boy with whom he had shared his Power Point presentation. Instead of replying to Weston, he slid again to the picture of Midoriya Inko and, even though Shoto said nothing, the other boy seemed to understand.

"Alright, I can see where he gets his looks from, okay." Weston analysed the evidence again, and added, "But still, maybe you should do some digging on Izuku's life before U.A, what if, like, you find out he has a dad that's not All Might?" Seeing Shoto's glare threaten with returning, he quickly added, "And maybe it turns out All Might is an estranged uncle rather than father, eh?"

"Pff." Shoto deadpanned. "And maybe Phantom is not Fenton but his long lost twin"

"Oh, seriously? Then why didn't he come back to his family instead of turning to vigilantism? The Fentons are obviously embarrassing, but they are nice with their kids, and if they were abusive enough to make one of their kids run away, I think their OP vigilant secret sibling would've taken Danny and Jazz away with him." Noticing he had risen for the bait and given a rationalized answer to a nonsense option, he said, "Besides! That's not my point! Danny Fenton is Phantom and it's obvious but people don't want to believe just because of a change in color palette." Weston grumbled. "Honestly, in the age of Quirks…"

"That, and the many different Quirks he has."

"That too." Instead of taking it as a jab, Weston used it as ammunition. "People are literally seeing all the things Phantom can do, and get stuck in the 'that's not possible' part of it instead of going beyond and looking at him, actually seeing him, and knowing it's Danny!"

Shoto waited until the other boy had calmed down after his rant, and said in a low voice, "I think it's also the fact that Fenton says he's quirkless still; if someone had that many Quirks, why not show at least one in their day-to-day life? Why not save themselves the discrimination?"

The freckled boy deflated at that, and sat back down next to his fellow truth seeker. "Yeah, I don't get that either, he could just, kick Dash's ass whenever he's being a jerk, but he doesn't…"

They remained quiet for a while, mulling things over, thinking of people's motivations.

"It's not very common for people to suddenly develop several Quirks, either…" Shoto said slowly.

Weston just shrugged his shoulders. "It may have something to do with his parents' job, they're both scientists, after all."

Then both conspirancist minds went to another being with a big fat bunch of Quirks that had made the news not long ago, and twin shivers went down their spines.

"Do you think Fenton may be All for One's secret child?" Shoto asked before he could stop himself.

Weston opened his mouth. Closed it. Looked up in consideration. And finally answered.

"Nah. Besides the fact Danny isn't Asian, he looks a lot like his dad."

Shoto hummed in consideration, and then it hit him.

"Do you think Phantom is All for One's deceased secret child that now possesses Fenton's body and grants him his Quirks sometimes, and that's why Fenton is still technically quirkless?"

It was great having a truth-seeking buddy.
