Chapter 15

The wedding between Jason and Rose took place a little later than expected, but it was worth it. To see Jason and Rose together for real, the smiles on their faces.

"I don't know Candy, but I think Jason seems to be even happier than we were when we finally got married!" Jeremy said as he and Candy walked to the refreshments. Candy just smiled and was contented to be held in Jeremy's arms.

"Rose, did you know that no one else can make me as happy as you can?" Jason said with a smile that went from ear to ear. Rose looked at him and noted that he looked as if he had just finished school and had been able to kiss his first crush. They were both happy and well suited.

Joshua looked at Jason and said to them:

"You know big brother; it took quite a few years, but I haven't seen you this happy since…"

"Joshua, go on?"
"Well, I was going to mention Jonathan's mom but…"
"But that was another time and place. Rose makes me very happy, and I am glad for that." Jason said as he stood at the table with the wedding cake.

Rose looked at him and he looked at her and then without a word, she took the first slice, and he opened his mouth and she put that piece in just as neat as she could. He took his piece of cake and did the same for her.

There was music dancing and reminiscing all around.

Chris and Molly and Richard and Merilee were sitting nearby in some chairs when Biddy came over and started to talk to them, she forgot that Chris was not Captain Clancy and asked if he had his little stash in his cabin.

"Well, mi lady," said Chris in his best Clancy impression: "I don't think I have any but with any luck Lottie will have some for sure!"

Biddy smiled and then remembered and almost felt bad, but everyone turned her sadness to joy as they let her hold the baby.

Toy and Jeremy and Lin and Candy all were reminiscing about their excursions and how Toy and Jeremy met. Meanwhile: just after midnight, Jonathan and Elizabeth slipped out of the party and went over to her uncle's house to sit and visit and make their own plans.

"I really don't care if it is fancy, I just want to be with you Jonathan!" Elizabeth said

"Well, given that we have an 'event coordinator,' Biddy, I think we will have to take what we can get." Jonathan said as he chuckled.

Elizabeth sat on the sofa and Jonathan sat next to her. They just sat holding each other. Soon they fell asleep. When Aaron and Sarah walked in, they saw them, Aaron was about to make a fuss, but Sarah stopped him and said to get some blankets. She then had Aaron help put the blankets over them. They went upstairs, Aaron stopped fuming and enjoyed the company of is wife Sarah.

Christopher and Merilee and the children were packed and ready to leave to go back to the San Juan Islands. Toy and Lin Soon decided to see if they could find a little house to live. Their son would be able to enter the UW and their daughter planned to be a teacher for the Chinese children in Seattle. Molly and Richard stayed as well, Molly set up a school for the deaf and Richard worked with Barnabas to establish his own law practice, along with Absalom.
