They sat with their family and friends at the captain's table this night. Speeches were held and little films of growing up Jane and Maura were shown. Janes commented by Frankie who didn't spare them the weed growing event which made everybody laugh heartedly. Everybody but her mother who huffed.

But when she caught Janes eyes, she smiled proudly. They silently toasted to each other and exchanged warm smiles. Jane had to admit that Frankie and Arthur did a great job in commenting the films.

It was obvious that Maura had hidden a lot behind her books and been the shy one, while Jane had already tried to conquer the world aged 6 on her first bike. She had been wild. A tomboy climbing trees and seeking for adventures. They were totally opposite. But how had Maura once said? Opposites attract each other. But there were also many things they had in common.

Jane kissed her softly and Maura kissed her back with a grin. "Look at us." Jane whispered proudly, kissing the tip of Maura's nose. When the films had ended, Frankie announced that it was time for the wedding dance.

Maura was the first to stand and she took Jane's hand, leading her to the dance floor. They moved elegantly into each other's arms when the song began to play. Jane had chosen the song Perfect from Ed Sheeran and Jane felt Maura studying her over the song choice. "Do you like it?" she asked, and Maura smiled. "Yes. Its wonderful."

"Thank you for making my dream wedding come true." The doc said and Jane nodded as she easily guided them over the dance floor. "You're welcome."

They stayed after the song had ended and other people began filling the dance floor. Frankie danced with Maura and Jane with Arthur. Then they switched before dancing with many other people. Jane tried with Dusty, but they weren't made for dancing together. They stopped and chuckled because it gave them an awkward feeling. They were just too similar. But Maura and Dusty hit it off well. Jane watched them form the sideline with a smile.

Dusty was from Boston and working as a Police officer. She wanted to become a detective. It had been quite fun to discover that Frankie and she knew each other because they had been to police academy together. Hence, the Rizzoli clan had gathered a new member. Her mother had already adopted her and was on the lookout for a suitable partner.

Jane wasn't surprised when Angela interrupted the dance of Maura and Dusty to present her a sympathetic and shy looking woman. "She's a doctor." Angela told the women Maura proudly after she and Maura had arrived at the sideline.

The three of them watched how the two women began chatting and dancing. And for once in her life, Jane thought that Angela had matched the perfect couple. Well, maybe the second time, Jane corrected herself when thinking how her mother had tried to bring her and Maura together by inviting the doc to their family dinner.

"Seems like you're getting really good at this." She said to Angela who was beaming. "Yes. Only took me a few decades of exercise with you." She winked jokingly and Jane laughed. "Now it's time to find a match for Frankie and Tommy." She mentioned and Jane nudged her playfully. "Good luck with that." She joked and they shared another laughter over their glasses of champagne.

It was only later, when Jane and Maura had a moment to themselves when Jane took the ringer of her finger. "It's okay." She softly whispered when Maura looked scared. She handed her ring to Maura and made her read the inscription. It said Team. Then Maura slipped hers off, suddenly understanding and then laughing when reading Rizzles on hers. Jane grinned. Team Rizzles forever she said and gently bumped against Maura's shoulder.

"Yes!" Maura exclaimed doing a fist bump with Jane.

R&I

The rest of the vacation passed quickly. Too quick for Jane's taste who could get used to days of talk, sex and excursions with Maura. They had occasionally slid over the topic of kids but never talked serious.

One day, Jane found herself sitting on the deck of their home, looking out into the garden, and imagining a swing seat in it. Maybe a sandpit too… she proceeded to watching herself with a toddler out there, teaching him or her all the important things in life like learning how to walk, riding a bike and climbing trees. Maybe even baseball. She became aware of the smile tugging at her face and sighed.

She had to leave soon for a flight to Bombay. India had always been one of Janes favorite destinations. The spices, the food…. And she shuddered because something shifted in her. The readiness to give this up for something else.

The had been married for six months now and still juggled between their differing working hours. It's been a month already since Jane had received a possible ticket out. Her eyes went to her watch. The one she had received from her instructor years ago.

He had called and told her that he was about to retire, and that the airline would be only too glad to consider her as his follower. This meant teaching students. No more travelling. No more spices in India as well. But also, and she thought that she liked this thought, no more leaving Maura for days.

After taking a deep and shaky sigh she dialed her former instructor's number. "I'm in." she said after he had picked up at the second ring. "When do I start?"

Of course, they had to look for a good time to change. The airline was suffering a lack of pilots, so taking one out of the timetable would hurt. On the other hand, Jane's mentor was going to leave in two months and he wanted some time to hand over the business. All parties agreed on Jane staying in the cockpit for one more month.

R&I

At the airport they went through their routine of meeting in the garage, joking about relationship life, talking about the weather and planning the flight. Jane tried to memorize it all for later. Everything went smoothly and they were midflight a few hours later when Jane stopped eating her lunch/dinner whatever. It was sometimes hard to tell as a pilot.

Peter who sensed that something was up gave her a serious glance. "Are you pregnant? Oh please don't tell me that you'll stop and leave alone to this madness."

Jane chuckled and followed his hands which were pointing out to the most beautiful sky. When she didn't reply right away, he swallowed. "You are going to quit, aren't you?" he sounded sad.

"There always comes a time when we have to move on Peter. I mean, look at you. You're ready to take the captains exam. Soon you will sit on the left hand side and I'm very proud of you."

His eyes went out to a cloud which was afar like his stare. "I know. So, where are you going and when?"

Jane sighed. "I'm going to teach at the academy. I'll start next month. And no, I'm not pregnant. But I'm actually thinking of having a baby with Maur."

She spoke the words aloud for the first time, not even knowing what Maura was going to think about it. But yes. She somehow felt like raising a little human although not knowing if she would be good at it.

Peter smiled. "They can be pretty annoying, but its also rewarding to have kids." He said and Jane soaked up the information. "If you should ever need parenting advice, don't call me but my wife." He chuckled.

"I'll call you for escape then?" Jane teased him. "I would hope so." He replied with a grin.

"I promise that we won't lose touch. You'll still be my friend." Jane honestly said and Peter nodded. "I hope so. Who else is going to tease/torture me otherwise?" Now it was Janes turn to laugh.
