AN: Hi guys, I'm back with the story. Thank you for all nice reviews for all of my stories and for letting me know that you're missing my writing. Its great to know that my work is being appreciated and it's a great motivation to continue.

I managed to finish the studies with the final exam. Moved across country, started a new job and went through a breakup. So, life kept me a little bit busy over the past weeks *lol* But its fine now and I hope that I can write more chapters and stories in the future.

After dinner, Jane took care of the dishes while Maura brought Brian to bed. She felt lonely. Something she wouldn't have expected when getting married. In fact, she had never felt that lonely when she was still a player she mused. A clicking tongue made her turn around. Maura was standing in front of the present she had posed onto the counter before starting the dishes.

Fists against hips, Maura made an angry face. "You should stop spoiling him. He already got a present from us. Besides, you're already his favorite, so no need to bribe him!" Janes eyes widened.

"I don't bribe him with anything." She said astonished about the allegations, but Maura shook her head and gave her a disgusted look. "Of course, you do Jane. You only take care of the fun part from parenting. But its me who does the hard job. Its me who must scold him if he does something wrong. Its me who must do all the explanations…" Maura's voice trailed off and Jane lifted her palms towards the ceiling as she tried to ignore the false allegations. "Fine, what do you want me to do?" she asked annoyed and received a deadly glare from her wife.

"You don't even see the work, do you?" the doc spat, and Jane scoffed before taking a deep breath. "Okay Maur. I don't wanna fight. Would you please tell me what this is all about? Its not about the present right? Nor about who does which work. You've been grumpy and distant for weeks. Please, tell me what's wrong." The last sentence was spoken in a pleading and rather soft tone. Jane's desperation was obvious. She wanted to make things work. She loved Maura and couldn't imagine living without her. A feeling she had never thought she would ever get with someone.

She slowly lifted her eyes which stopped at the staircase. Brian was crouching close to the railing, his tiny nose sticking through the openings. Jane's heart broke, when she became aware of the tears that were streaming down his face.

"What?" she asked when realizing that Maura had something. The doc gave her an incredulous look. "You don't even listen to me Jane!" she yelled, and Brian flinched. "I said that I want a separation. This is not working for us." She repeated and Brian ran upstairs. Only then Maura became aware of the witness and turned to follow the boy.

"Let me." Jane pleaded but Maura only shook her head in no. Jane's head sagged between her shoulders as she watched Maura leave. Her feet somehow carried her to the master bedroom where she grabbed a suitcase and carelessly threw pieces of clothing inside. She quickly closed the suitcase when she heard Maura's footsteps approaching the room.

The doc had tears in her eyes as she saw Jane standing in the middle of the room with her suitcase in hand.

"I'm sorry." Maura whispered, slowly stepping towards Jane who watched her cautiously. Jane's heart melted slowly. "Maur, its okay." She whispered and saw Maura stop in her tracks. What the hell was going on now? The brunette wondered and cringed. Without thinking and following an instinct she closed her hand firmly around the handle of the suitcase and walked by Maura.

Once in the garage she slammed the door behind herself and jumped into the car before Maura could follow her. She didn't anyways but if she had she would have seen the first tears streaming down Janes face as she drove the BMW out of the garage.

R&I

Jane gratefully accepted the bottle of blue moon Peter handed her before sitting down into the armchair on the brunette's right-hand side. He studied her in silence, waiting for her to say something. She had called him after aimlessly driving around town for almost two hours and after her last tear had dried on her cheek.

He hadn't hesitated to invite her and to offer her the guest room. Jane knew that he was waiting for her to talk but couldn't bring herself to say a word. Her throat felt soar from crying and her brain hurt from thinking. She led the bottle to her mouth and took a swig of beer. Was it really over with Maura? Maybe it was better. If their relationship derailed so quickly it couldn't be solid… Jane took a deep breath and finally looked up from her lap.

"I don't want to talk about it. Not now anyways." She sighed. Peter nodded. "Shower?" he asked, and it was her who nodded now. "Or maybe drown me in the bathtub." She joked halfheartedly. He gave her a warm smile. "You were always a fighter, Jane. You overcame more obstacles than any other person I can think of. Whatever will happen, you're going to survive this as well." He said and bent forward to pat her knee.

Jane scoffed but said nothing as she followed him to the guestroom. The bed was neatly made, and Jane dropped onto it after closing the door behind herself. Her eyes wandered around for a while as her hands lay in her lap. The ringing of her phone brought her back to reality and she quickly glanced at the display to see the airlines dispatcher number.

"Rizzoli." She answered after clearing her throat. After being out of the flying circle for a while she didn't recognize the young woman's voice who told her about another shortage of pilots. It was Saturday and she was asked to do some inland flights the next day. She would be available as the academy was closed Saturdays and Sundays and it would help her to collect more flying hours which she needed to keep her pilots license.

Hence, she didn't hesitate and agreed on doing the job. She also hoped that work would keep her mind of the horrible things happening in her life. Even if it was only for a few hours. Her brain and her heart needed a rest.

The woman from dispatch sounded relieved and Jane gave a sad smile. She would receive a text with the details within the next thirty minutes. Instead of waiting she walked into the bathroom to take a shower.

R&I

After a surprisingly good rest, Jane stood in front of the mirror, glancing at her reflection. Realizing how much she had missed flying, she couldn't help but smile. Her appearance got rounded up when she put the captain's hat onto her head. Then she grabbed for her keys and briefcase and walked into the dining room where Peters family was sitting around the table eating breakfast.

Peter whistled in approval as he saw her in her uniform, and she smiled. His wife smiled at her and handed her a plate with scrambled eggs. Peters' kids were fighting over a toy and Jane chuckled as they reminded her of similar scenes in her childhood when she and her brothers used to fight over toys constantly.

At the same time her heart became heavy because she also thought of Brian. Wondering how he was, she pushed the eggs around her plate. The boy had endured enough pain for his lifetime and now Maura and she were adding plenty. It made Jane feel sick to the stomach and she gave up on trying to eat. She pushed the plate away, glad that Peters wife wasn't offended. She gave the brunette an understanding and warm smile instead.

Jane realized how lucky she was to have such good friends and gladly accepted the hug from Peter before leaving the house. Neither of them has ever been great huggers, but Peter who had some sensitive antennas knew when Jane needed this kind of support.
