Chapter 37: A Familiar Sniper, Part 1
~11AM~
A man in the shadows of an alleyway was watching a scene where Shary was run over by a car, killing him.
"Hmm… Looks like Shary is gone…" He said. "And they're about to enter Warsaw? There is a checkpoint there before they reach The Bad Blood Organization… I must stop them before they can even come close…"
~JULY 23RD, 2024, 1PM~
Jolanta and her friends have finally reached the checkpoint in Warsaw.
"Alright… It's an abandoned street…" Rostek said. "Not really new for a checkpoint, but we're all gonna go pass through to see what's new."
Jolanta then looks around.
"Very old. People don't live here, I can tell." Jolanta said to herself. "But this ominous feeling… Is this how I feel when we cross to Warsaw?"
Someone on one of the rooftops was watching them from below.
"They have made it to the checkpoint…" He said, "Guess it's time…"
The man then got out a sniper rifle.
"...To assassinate them…" He said with a serious look.
Down below, Kwiat covered her mouth as she sneezed.
"Bless you!" Rostek said.
"Thanks." Kwiat said. "And sorry… I needed it out… Is there anything around here that is giving me allergies?"
"Allergies?" Jolanta said. "What are you allergic to?"
"Cats."
"Oh… I see…"
Marcelina looks down.
"Guys… You don't believe we're being watched, are we?" Marcelina asked.
"Why?" Jolanta asked.
"Because… It's starting to get out of hand now… I feel like someone else here is watching us, but we don't know who he or she is or where he or she is…"
Then, they heard a sniper bullet being shot out. It hit the ground in front of them.
"GAH! What the fuck?!" Marcelina shouted.
Rostek looks up to see the man aiming at them with his sniper rifle.
"It's a sniper!" Rostek shouted. "Everyone get down!"
Everyone then ran while covering their heads. The sniper looked at them and followed them from the rooftops.
"They won't run from me for this long…" He said. "Because I have them in my sights…"
Jolanta and her friends were hiding behind a broken car.
"Hopefully he doesn't find us here…" Rostek said. "This car luckily gave us some room for the four of us…"
The sniper then used the scope on his sniper rifle to spot them with an orange glow while looking under the scope.
"Their heat signatures… I can sense them behind that car…" He said. "That is one of my little tricks… Now…"
The sniper aimed at Marcelina.
"Hrgh… No…" He said. "I've dealt enough damage to her…"
The sniper then aimed at Jolanta instead.
"Sara told me to eliminate her, first…" He said.
Down below, Kwiat saw the sniper.
"Shit! He can see us!" Kwiat shouted at her friends.
"Ok, duck!" Rostek shouted.
Everyone then ducked. The sniper saw that Jolanta moved.
"She's behind the car… I can't assassinate her just yet…" He said. "That car must go first…"
The sniper then used its sniper rifle to shoot a bullet at the car. It then aimed at the floor next to Jolanta's legs, but Jolanta avoided it.
"He is still trying to kill us!" Jolanta shouted.
"We gotta see who that sniper is!" Kwiat shouted.
Everyone then got out of the car.
"They're leaving…" The sniper said as he put away his rifle. "Looks like I'll be making this harder for myself…"
Jolanta and her friends were running out of the abandoned street and to another one.
"Looks like we might be safe…" Jolanta said. "At least for now…"
The sniper meanwhile was climbing down from a ladder.
"I must stop them…" He said. "Before they reach the main building…"
He then went over to see the Surviving Peacemakers catching their breath. He got out his sniper rifle and aimed at Jolanta.
"This will be a piece of cake…" He said. "Time for you to be assassinated this time, Jolanta Joswiak…"
When a bullet is shot out, Jolanta quickly sees the bullet and has Cherry Bomb punch away the bullet with its fist. The bullet then went through the wall.
"The sniper is following us!" Jolanta shouted. "Let's get back into the abandoned street!"
"Wait!" Marcelina shouted as she looked at the sniper. "That sniper… He looks… Familiar…"
The sniper then saw Marcelina.
"Hmph… Guess I gotta introduce myself, huh?" He said. "Deja Vu is pinching me in the back…"
The sniper then walks over to the Surviving Peacemakers and tipped his shades in front of them. Marcelina was the only one shocked.
"M-Mordero?!" Marcelina shouted.
"It's been a while, Marcelina…" Mordero said.
