A/N: This may or may not become a new story, depending if you like it. If you guys do I will continue my other story too so don't worry about that. This is just the introduction so it is short and may be a little confusing but please enjoy and leave feedback.

This was hands down the worst part of the job. Ziva David hated telling families that their loved ones weren't going to come home. She hated the crying and look of sorrow evident on their faces. She hated that she could understand the pain as she too had lost many dear to her. Ziva had felt helpless during the deaths and knew these people could relate. But this came with the job. She knew that. It may suck but it was her responsibility so she pushed back all personal feelings and knocked on the dark oak door.

There she and Tony, awkwardly stood waiting for someone to answer. To both their shock, a young blonde girl in her pajamas answered. She couldn't be more than seven.

Tony was the first to speak, as usual. He crouched in front of her, "Hey sweetie. Is daddy or someone home?"

"Uh-huh. Danny is here." She enthusiastically replied, while playing with the hem of her shirt.

Before the conversation could get any further, the pair of agents heard a masculine voice yell out to the girl. "Olivia Marie, I told you to wait for me." Coming into view was a teenage boy carrying a toddler wrapped in a hooded shark towel. He was obviously annoyed if his tone and glare gave any indication. He also appeared soaked in water, his shirt had a huge water stain from holding the toweled boy. Seeing the NCIS agents, his scowl grew and his pace sped up until the girl was in his reach. He proceeded to pull her behind him. "How can we help you?"

The wording of the question was polite but his voice said otherwise. He didn't want herself or Tony here. "Is there a parent here? Perhaps your father?"

"No, Scott went out and my mother is at dinner with her college friends. Now do you need something from us or can I go back to putting them to bed?"

"Who's Scott? Is he your father?" Tony asked.

"Tt, no." It was a short answer that told so much to the ex assassin. The disdain for Scott was obvious and she could tell it was a sensitive topic. However, she didn't have time to beat around the tree.

When she began to speak, the teens head shot up. "If he isn't your father who is here? An uncle? Step-parent? Whoever he is we need to speak with the adult in the home."

The little girl started jumping a little behind her brother, "He's my daddy but not Dannys. Mommy had a different husband before Daddy and had Danny. Then that guy left and Mommy had Connor, Me, and Henry with Daddy." Her rambling reminded Ziva of Abby. Olivia was so carefree in spouting this information while Danny tensed.

'Danny' grabbed Olivia's shoulders and crouched down. Then in a softer tone than the woman had heard all five minutes of talking spoke, "Hey Livy, why don't you go to my room and find Con, okay? I need to talk to these nice agents by myself." The girl frowned but with a kiss from the teen, headed down the hallway. Then the boy stood up and his glare was back. "So what happened? NCIS agents wouldn't be here for no reason. Is my mom, okay?"

Tony answered him, with a careful voice. "Buddy we really should wait for an adult. You can't hear this alone."

Still juggling the wet and whiny toddler, Danny scoffed, "First off, I'm not your buddy. Second, I'm the closest thing to an adult here. You can tell me what happened. I ain't dumb. My mom got hurt."

"Not just hurt Danny. Your mother unfortunately was found dead in her car about four hours ago." Tony gaped at Ziva for telling a boy this information but Ziva didn't care. When her mother had died, everyone tried to distract her from the truth but this kid had to know. He already knew something was wrong so what good was hiding it.

Alex's heart stopped. He didn't think that it was true. His mother was the strongest woman alive and sure as hell wouldn't just die. Especially in her car. Tears welled up in his eyes as he gripped the baby for dear life. Then pulled out of his thoughts, a small voice spoke.

"Mommys dead?"

The three elders whipped their heads to the hallway Olivia had disappeared into earlier. There stood the girl now crying and an older boy, who looked about ten but also in pajamas. The boy asked the question. Ziva thought back to earlier in the conversation and realized this must be Connor. Now she had three teary kids on her hands.

Danny approached the two youngsters slowly as if trying not to spook them. They both threw their arms around his neck and cried. Tony and Ziva silently watched the siblings cry. They didn't want to interrupt them but they needed to bring them back to NCIS headquarters. Since there wasn't an adult home, it was the best place for them. Slowly Ziva approached them.

"I am terribly sorry for your loss. I know it is a lot to handle right now but we really need you guys to each pack a bag so we can take you to our work building." She spoke as softly and gently as she could, trying to comfort the children. Danny heard her though since he let go of his siblings, and stood to face her. Without saying a word, he headed to the bedrooms and motioned for the crying children to follow. He proceeded to pack a bag not only for him but the baby and Olivia as well. Then he helped Connor with his. The teens' face held only determination as Ziva led the siblings out of their home and into the car. Since there weren't enough seats, the toddler sat on his lap and Olivia and Connor leaned against him still crying. Danny didn't seem to mind. He gazed straight ahead with a look full of emptiness.

So what'd you guys think? I know it is probably hard to form and opinion from such little words but I hope you will enjoy. I will write a few more chapters and see if you guys even enjoy it.

If it was confusing I wanna clear some things up. Daniel "Danny" is fourteen. Connor is ten. Olivia is six. And Henry is around two. Danny comes from a previous relationship and Scott is his stepfather who he dislikes. He is only rude because he knows something is wrong and because of how his life is. He is responsible for his siblings so he is just defensive. Please let me know what you liked or what you think should be changed. Henrys name is still being debated on because I don't know if it fits but I love the name.
