Hi again, I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has read and reviewed my stories. It really does mean so much! I was so nervous to post my first Shamy fic but the response to that and my other stories has been so lovely and a real confidence boost! I have had a few people asking about a continuation of the prompts I have posted, so far they have all been follow ups or prequels to Hello Little One. I don't have any plans to continue them however, I'm still happy to take prompt request.

This one was requested by a guest who wanted me to write when Amy and Sheldon discover they're pregnant with their second baby. Thank you for requesting. Enjoy!

Amy knew something hadn't been quite right for the past few weeks, the odd bout of sickness that seemed to hit her like a train at the most unexpected times throughout the day. The smells that seemed to overwhelm her senses and then there had been that time last week when she found herself crying over some commercial. The events had been so spaced out that she hadn't give them all much thought until now.

She was sat on stage in front of around 200 prospective undergraduate students, she had been asked to prepare a 20 minute presentation on the biology opportunities available at Caltech. She always got a little nervous but never to the point where it absolutely crippled her, she loved science and sharing her passion for field. However, right now as she sat to the left of the stage, just minutes away from being introduced she felt herself suddenly become warm and clammy, her head was spinning and her stomach was doing flips.

With just enough time to process what has happening, she dashed from the stage and made a mad rush for the bathroom where she proceeded to throw up the contents of her stomach. As she wiped her mouth, she was suddenly over come with exhaustion, she had no idea where it had come from, just five minutes ago she'd been absolutely fine.

Her mind quickly went to the presentation that she had just fled from, she felt awful. She hated leaving people in the lurch but she hoped someone had covered because right now all she wanted to do was head home and sleep whatever this sickness bug was off.

Amy had returned home around at 11am, being able to subtly sneak out without being questioned. She hoped word didn't get back to Sheldon, she was just sick and needed to rest. The last thing she wanted was for him to be fussing and panicking. She had slept for three hours before waking up and feeling like her old self again, whatever it was for those three hours had completely knocked the wind out of her sail.

Outside, the sun was starting to set and Amy was prepping dinner for when Sheldon and Emily returned home. She felt guilty for not swinging by and picking Emily up from daycare but with how rubbish she felt when she left work she was in no fit state to look after a demanding three year old. Wednesdays were normally the days when she worked late and she knew Sheldon loved the one day he was able to pick Emily up and that one on one time they spent together discussing their day.

Amy could hear the sound of their voices as Sheldon put the key in the lock, she could hear Emily's excited chatter and Sheldon's sound of approval as the little girl talked his ears off. Emily was such a sociable and confident little creature, Amy had no idea where she got it from, it certainly wasn't from either of her parents.

"Mummy!" Emily squealed excitedly as she ran over to Amy.

"I drawed this" Amy watched Sheldon twitch, she knew he didn't like it when Emily made a grammatical mistake however, she scolded him every time he tried to correct her insisting that it was cute and she would eventually learn. Emily stood in front of her mother beaming as she proudly held up a piece of paper with some people painted upon it.

"Oh wow! Is this us?" Amy asked, noticing that she had painted a little family of three.

"Mmm" Emily nodded. "That's you and daddy and then that's me. I did it for you" she explained as she used her finger to point out the images.

"Oh thank you very much" Amy turned to the fridge and used the magnets to place Emily's painting there. "Oh look at that, it's perfect" Emily stood smiling incredibly proud of the work she had produced, Amy would never get bored of seeing that cheeky little smile. "Dinners nearly ready, want to go through and wash your hands" she asked.

"Okay" Emily turned and skipped off towards the bathroom, the neat plait Amy had placed in her hair that very morning now a dishelved mess on the back of her head that swung from side to side as she skipped.

"How come your home?" Sheldon asked as he appeared at her side in the kitchen.

"Oh, I felt a bit rubbish today at work. Ended up coming home" she refrained from revealing all to Sheldon, he didn't need to know about the sudden sickness and the nap that lasted far too long. "I'm much better now though" she smiled as she stirred the bolognese sauce.

"You know Emily asked me the strangest thing in the car" he moved around Amy, collecting the cutlery so he could start to set the table. Amy loved how week trained he now was. It had taken long enough.

"Go on"

"She asked me when you were going to have your baby" he sounded so baffled by his little daughters question, he had no idea what had set that idea off in her head. Amy laughed.

"Are you sure she didn't mean when are we going to have another baby?" Amy asked. "I know they're working on their family tree at daycare, maybe she was wondering why she didn't have any brothers or sisters" she explained, it seemed like a logical response.

"No, no" Sheldon shook his head as he retrieved glasses from the cupboards. "I asked. She was talking like there was an actual baby" their conversation came to an abrupt end when Emily entered the room.

Despite being hungry, Amy had barely touched her dinner, she had been too wrapped up in the question that Emily had asked Sheldon. She was replaying the words and today's events over and over in her head, now that she thought about the last time she had felt the way she felt this morning was when she was pregnant with Emily. Now that that seed was planted in her head, she couldn't quite shake it off.

"I know I'm not the best at this but I get the feeling you're not telling me something, Amy" Sheldon spoke carefully as he sat down beside her on the sofa, she was tucked into the corner, her knees pulled up to her chest with her arms wrapped around them.

Amy sighed deeply. She didn't know what to do. Did she tell Sheldon what was going on in head or did she wait until she knew for sure? She didn't want him to worry or freak out for that matter but she could feel his beautiful blue eyes gazing into her, demanding an answer.

"Okay, but I don't want you to freak out"

"Amy, what's wrong?" he placed his hand on her knee and squeezed it gently. What the hell was she about to tell him? He knew she hadn't been well, was this actually something serious.

"I was really sick today, I didn't want to tell you earlier because I didn't want to worry you but I threw up at work and then came back here and slept for hours" she explained slowly.

"Amy, you should..."

"The last time I felt like that was when I was pregnant" she finally got to the point, blurting out what had been keeping her mind racing since he had returned home. She watched his face pale and his eyes go wide as he slowly let her words sink in.

"I don't understand, what are you saying?" he asked.

"I don't know for sure" she responded quickly. "It's just with all that and then Emily asking about a baby, I'm probably just over thinking it but they say children can tune in to things like that" she started rambling, Sheldon knew she did this when she was worried and anxious about something. He, on the other hand was surprisingly calm. "What are you doing?" Amy asked as Sheldon rose to his feet.

"We need to get a test"

"Sheldon, it can wait until tomorrow"

"We need to know if you're pregnant Amy. I shall go and get one now and then we can do it whilst Emily is asleep" Amy knew what Sheldon was like once he had got an idea into his head, it seemed that already he had thought this through. He was right really, if she was pregnant again there was no point putting it off until the morning.

No more than an hour later Amy was stood in the bathroom, staring at the test laid out in on the white porcelain surface. The time was ticking by slowly and her mind and heart were racing, when she woke up this morning she really didn't anticipate that this was the way her day would end.

"Is it done? Do we know?" Sheldon asked quickly from where he was sat on the edge of the bed, his hands in his lap where Amy knew just seconds ago he would have been twiddling his thumbs and anxiously tapping his foot.

"No, not yet. I wanted to be out here with you" she knew he would have been right outside the door waiting for her, waiting for the result. She didn't want to find out on her own, she wanted to be right there with him.

"How long do we have to wait?" Sheldon asked as Amy sat down beside him. It was moments like this where he wished he knew what she was feeling, she seemed so vague. He had no idea whether she was longing for the test to be positive or whether she was hoping with every fiber of being that it came back negative. He wasn't even that sure on what he wanted the result to be.

"Not long. A minute maybe" she shrugged, her tone and body language suggesting maybe the latter of Sheldon's thoughts. They sat in silence until Amy announced that it would now be time to check, she twiddled with the stick in her hands, turning it round until her eyes landed upon the tiny window. The window that gave them a glimpse into their future and would change their lives forever.

Pregnant

"Sheldon, it's positive" her voice shook and her hands were trembling. She was pregnant. They were going to have another baby, they were going to become a family of four. Without warning, tears started rolling down her cheeks.

"Hey" Sheldon reached out for her hand. "Aren't you happy?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.

"I don't know" Amy reached up to wipe away the tears that were freely falling from her eyes. She felt so guilty, surely she should be thrilled, elated just like she was when she discovered she was expecting Emily. This wasn't part of their plan, she wasn't sure what their plan was but she didn't think it was this. "I think it's just the shock of it all" she admitted. This was huge news, she needed time to process everything.

"I'll make tea" Sheldon was up and out of the room before Amy had the chance to really hear what he was saying. Of course he would go and make tea, she wouldn't have expected anything less. She pulled herself up off the bed and followed him into the next room, throwing herself down on to the couch. "Here" Sheldon appeared minutes later, a mug held out for Amy.

"How do you feel?" she asked as she took the mug from him and he too joined her on the couch.

"You're right it is a shock but it's nothing we haven't done before" he explained. He was very black and white with his thinking, they had done this before, they could do it again.

"I know that we weren't exactly careful but I just didn't think it would happen so fast" Sheldon wasn't entirely sure what she meant by things happening too fast, maybe it was the timing, although it was common knowledge Sheldon wanted fifteen children, the discussion of a second baby had yet to occur.

"It's not that fast. Emily is three, by the time the baby arrives she'll be nearly four. It's the perfect age gap" he explained. She loved him with all her heart but sometimes she wished he didn't always have a fact to reel off.

"Sheldon, I'm scared" she finally admitted. "This is another little human being we're talking about" Amy's mind was racing, she would have to experience pregnancy, the labor and birth, hormones all over the place and sleepless nights all over again. She didn't feel ready or at all prepared. "And this time round we have a three year old too" she felt more tears sting at her eyes as she thought about Emily. She was still so young, still so dependent on her parents, how would she cope with sharing the attention, how would she cope with no longer being their only child.

"Amy" Sheldon took hold of her hand again. "I really believe we can do this. I know it might not be the way we saw things happening but it is happening. We're great parents to Emily. We'll be great parents to this baby too"

Amy was surprised by how much Sheldon was taking this in his stride. He was usually someone that was so freaked out if things were out of his routine or if things didn't quite go his way. Maybe deep down this was the way he had always wanted things to go.

"Do you really think so?" she asked helplessly. She knew that they could do this, she was just so overwhelmed with emotion that she wasn't processing things correctly. It was a lot to suddenly have to become accustomed to.

"I do. You're a wonderful mother Amy" he smiled as he squeezed the hand he was holding. She felt her mouth turn up in to a smile which subsequently led to her crying again.

"We're really going to do this. We're going to have another baby" she realised more than ever in that moment that she and Sheldon were a team. The best team she had ever been a part of. Together, they could do anything.
