Sakura couldn't help feeling sad for the young couple. She sat down on her bed and tied some bandage wrap on her hands as she thought about the little girl and how cute she was.
'Well, at least no one's dying in this one. Ayane and Xephon. Good to know their names now but still fucking sad. That Kitsune guy looked like a total creep.'
Sakura nodded her thoughts away and noticed the time. Unplugging her phone from the charger and walking out of her room while tying her hair up, Touya was already by the door with a couple of water jugs in his workout clothes.
"Ready brat?" he smirked as he handed her water and opened the door for them.
"Ready jerk" She rolled her eyes as she followed him in. Time to kick some butt!
Chapter 8: Late but it's ok I got your number!
Everyone was pretty active today at the school as they filled the halls waiting for the bell to ring to start the day. People were laughing with their own group of friends rushing to their lockers to grab their stuff. It was Friday and no uniforms weren't required. A certain red-eye beauty yawned as she held onto her boyfriend.
"Why does it feel like I was just here recently?" Meilin said as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.
Akio smiles, his shiny new black eye twitches a bit, "It's school babe, we were just here yesterday and since Monday."
Behind them, Takashi and Chiharu followed closely with Eriol. Both boys wore black jeans with different colored shirts. Takashi wore a grey button-up shirt with a nerdy white Super Mario brothers shirt underneath and Eriol with a blue and white striped t-shirt. Both had chain wallets and chuck shoes.
Chiharu had her white shirt with spots and a black skirt along with flats. Meilin had tight dark jeans and a red shirt that had an evil kitty face with devil horns.
"You know...legends say that the reason we feel like we never left a certain location is that our bodies may have left but our souls stay here till we complete our goal, which means till graduation day!" Takashi said as had a serious look on his face, arm slung over Chiharu's shoulders.
"Oh really? Just like our souls also leave when we're sleeping and go around doing other stuff like watching tv shows and playing with animals at night?" Chiharu replies with an annoyed face. She's used to his silly stories but lately, they've been a little out of this world.
"Or how the only way to drink clean water back in the old days was collecting the rain with multiple jugs of water to last until the next rainy day!" Meilin chips in as she smiles, her eyebrow up.
"Yes!" Takashi laughs out loud while Chiharu punches his side.
The rest of the group sighs at their silly friend as they continue to their lockers. Luckily they have them all close together and can meet up there before and after school.
"Eriol dear, where's our little wolf?" Meilin looked back at him as they reached their lockers.
He shrugs as he puts in his combination to open his locker, pulling out the equipment he would need for the day.
"He said something about being here later today. Slept pretty late last night after training. Guess something was on his mind."
Meilin locks up her locker again as Akio drapes his arm around her while talking to Takashi.
"He's been acting weird since yesterday. Something happened?"
"Not sure" Eriol shrugs "I mean he did have that meeting with grandfather but other than that...wait...well he was the last one to arrive for your guy's tryouts."
Meilin frowns a bit, "Hopefully he snaps out of whatever it is. Can't trust those Aka's anywhere and we need to watch out for anything out of the ordinary!"
"Yeah. Just keep your eyes and ears open" he said that to everyone and they all looked at him and nodded.
The 1st warning bell rang loudly indicating they all had 5 minutes before class started and they all departed to their classes before the second bell rang.

'Ah, shit was that the bell?' Syaoran said as turned his radio off and he got out and locked his car up.
He was wearing all black that day. From his leather jacket, all the way down to his black and white chucks. With his Bag in hand, he started to jog up to the school, putting on his headphones, continuing the music he welcomed that morning. A couple of other students were running as well, all trying to beat being tardy.
'I had to dream about her Last night huh? Sheesh, what is it about that girl that I can't get out of my head?!'
He ran towards the building, yanked the door open and he quickly walked to his locker. Growled as he opened it and grabbed his books. He sped off to his first class of the day, singing a bit of his music.

Just before going into his classroom, he saw Sakura walking opposite him from the hall. His already short breath got caught and he saw her smile as she waved at him. His cheeks were burning and smiled back as he pulled his headphones out.
'Play it cool Syao. Use that Li charm gramps said to use. Or whatever he was talking about.'
"Hey! Running late too huh?" He asked as he stood in front of his classroom, slipping his headphones in his pocket. Both of them naturally walked up to each other closely and were still smiling.
"Yeah but I'm always late" Sakura blushes as she tucks her hair behind her ear.
"I guess luckily I was late today too...got to see you again." he smiled a bit, not moving his eyes from her at all.
Sakura laughs and tries not to blush as she holds her book close to her chest.
"I'm lucky too for sure!" They both laughed a little.
'What is it about this boy that makes my heart want to run out of my chest?'
"So...I thought earlier and..." She pulls out a sheet of paper from her notepad and writes down something quickly, She hands him the paper.
"Just in case you wanna ditch class again or something"
Syaoran stood there shocked.
'I'll be damn….Thanks gramps!'
He clears his throat, finding his voice again, "Most definitely! Maybe that date instead?"
He winks as he turns to go inside his first class, still not breaking any eye contact.
Sakura walks into her classroom backward as the last bell rang, not believing she did that. But hot damn she's not letting this opportunity pass at all!
'Please don't think I'm weird!' She thought as she sat down in her class.
"Well well well...Someone looks a little more awake than usual?"
Sakura looks up at the nerdy boy sitting in front of her. He had his black hair neatly combed over and his thick black glasses hiding his ruby eyes.
"Morning Xue...just had a little bit more coffee than usual is all!" She smiled as she tried to hide her embarrassment while setting her things out for class.
"Uh-huh...so tell me...He tall, dark and handsome, or is it Mr. Annoying's asshole that everyone thinks you're going to end up with?" Xue smirks as he pokes her desk.
Sakura blushes "shhh no it's nobody! I'm just really hyper and I had to run here from my house!" she said as she even tried to convince herself.
Xue nods, both his eyebrows up pretending to believe her. "Right right...if that's what you're telling yourself then"
Sakura pokes his back "Jerk. Anyways... Can you help me a little with this math problem from homework later?"
"Sure sure...We'll get that grade up in no time, cherry" He winks and turns around to face the classroom as the teacher begins the lecture of the day.
Sakura opened her book up for the class and started the lesson of the day. Most of the class time was quiet and just listening to the teacher dragged on while writing notes. In the middle of the lesson though, she suddenly felt her phone vibrate in her backpack next to her. She pulled out her phone quickly without the teacher seeing her and looked down at the Anonymous message.

The number was unfamiliar but she was hoping it was who she thought it was.

-oh ok just making sure it's you. It's Syaoran if you're wondering who's texting you-
She can die happy now! She made sure to save his number on her phone.
~lol oh why? Do you think I gave you a different number or something?~
-Yea sort of. Idk you're pretty popular and I'm just a punk loser nobody. Didn't think you would wanna give me your number-
~What?! You're not a loser! And I honestly don't care about popularity. You're one of the few who talk to me. Like actually have a one on one conversation.~

Sakura smiles and looks up from her phone. Everyone was still writing notes down as the teacher's voice sounded dull as ever. Pretty much the same as every day. She looks back down at her phone and replies.
~Steady. Not sure what's going on but luckily my friend helps me out a lot and I'll probably hear of it later if I don't pay attention~

"Miss Kinomoto, is there something so important on your phone you graciously would like to share?"
Sakura looked up and all eyes were on her. She stumbled as she stood up, pocketing her phone away.

Syaoran frowned. They were just texting back and forth and she stopped?
He sighs and looks back at his phone double-checking. Maybe he should text to see if they are still cool.
-Hey you ok? Every-
" !"
He quickly looks up to see every pair of eyes in the room looking right at him. His teacher, , looks like she's about to explode.
"I understand that you don't want to be here but you've been on your small device since class started!"
Syaoran swallowed. Shit.
"Maybe a little time in the hallway time would not only help the students around you learn today's lecture but also help you think about the importance of paying attention! Or detention...your choice"
Syaoran frowned and got up from his desk, chair screeching loudly as he started walking up to the front of the class. Ms. Funai held out her hand and Syaoran handed her his phone.
"I'll give this back to you at the end of class. Come back inside when the bell rings Mr. Li"
Syaoran rolls his eyes as he walks towards the door and exits out of the classroom, he pauses as the door slammed behind him.
No way.
Not only was he glad he was just standing in the hallway instead of getting detention, but also glad that luck was on his side. Guess he wasn't the only one who got caught.
"Sakura?"
Sakura was in the hallway as well, standing with her back towards the locker, she sheepishly waves at him.
"Guess we got busted huh," she says giggling.
Syaoran just smiles and nods, " I was wondering what happened. Told you I was bad for business" he winks.
Sakura smiled back a bit, biting her lower lip.
"I honestly don't mind" she winks back and smiles wider seeing him blush.
Both were so lost at each other's smiles they didn't even notice the figure watching them as he approached them.
"Sakura! Is this trash bugging you?" Riku stood in front of Sakura glaring at Syaoran.
"I told you Li...stick with your kind. Unless you're already done with the used chicks you have following you and your shitbags"
"Riku! Stop! He's not doing anything!" Sakura hissed, trying not to alert the teachers.
"Ahhh Riku! Good morning! My day wouldn't be the same without you and seeing your face at least early this morning" Syaoran joked as he smirked, leaning back against the lockers.
"Funny Li, always knew you were a clown but not a funny one" Riku smirked.
"Riiight...now if you would excuse me I'm trying not to get a detention so please continue minding your own fucking business and Please don't try to act all cool in front of the pretty lady," Syaoran grunted as he turned his attention elsewhere.
Riku looked back at Sakura, who was not at all amused looking and smirked as he looked back at Syaoran.
"She sure is pretty Li, definitely not the same trash kind of chicks you usually get"
Sakura barely saw how quick Syaoran was to step up to Riku. His face inches away from him, hands balled into a fist. He frowned but kept his posture straight, not moving his eyes away from the stupid jock brat in front of him.
"Say that again, Riku. I know you just want to start something. Believe me, it's been a while since we've rumbled," Syaoran said while he took his jacket off and tossed it to the side.
"True, though I'm glad this is happening now because I wouldn't want to embarrass you in front of your family of freaks" Riku puffed up his chest.
"Hmm right...Wouldn't want Meilin to beat your ass again right?" Syaoran smirked.
Sakura quickly got between them, pushing them apart from one another. Kinda hard when they both grab onto each other's shirts, looking like they were ready to strike.
"HEY HEY NO! Stop! Not here!" she looked up at Syaoran, hoping to get through him.
The minute he felt those emerald eyes on him, it was like an instant pull to look back at her. He did for a mere second and loosened his grip on the idiot's shirt.
Riku yanked him, "Don't try to look like the good guy in front of her!" He pushed Syaoran back against the locker, pushing Sakura out of the way.
"RIKU STOP!" Sakura ran up to Riku again and tried to pull him off as Syaoran gave him a deadly glare.
"Go ahead asshole, do your fucking worst! But try harder, I'm not Meli-" Riku threw the first punch. Both boys started swinging as Sakura stepped back.
"GODDAMNIT GUYS STO-"

Both boys didn't stop as the hallways started to get crowded again but this time circling the fight, encouraging the fight to go on.
Sakura stood helpless as she saw both boys fight to the death. Both grunting and swearing as they swung fists at each other's faces. Sakura faintly sees Syaoran's Tattoo on his arm every time Riku would yank his shirt. Looked almost like a wolf with green eyes. Almost.
Then suddenly, Riku got kicked back hard and almost lost his footing. He fell backward till some of the other football players caught him and stood him up back on his feet. His Lip was split and he looked like a nasty black bruise on his cheek was forming.
Syaoran stood tall with his cheek turning red and some blood coming from his mouth. He was ready to attack again till a petite girl with black long hair got in front of him out of nowhere, hugging his waist and pushing him back. Two guys, one with spiky black hair and the other with messy black hair but bright blue eyes stood behind Syaoran and grabbed a hold of him. Both looked like they were struggling to hold him back, as they tried to get Syaoran's attention.
Sakura stood still, still trying to take in what happened so quickly in front of her but even with all the noise people were making in the background, she still felt a little jealous at the girl holding him back.
"Xiaolang Stop! You know we can't do this, you idiot! Neutral grounds remember!" The girl looked at him angrily with her burning ruby eyes as she punched his chest hard, Syaoran barely noticed. She turned around and looked over at Riku.
"Fuck off you little cockroach or I won't hesitate to let my cousin go again to beat your worthless ass!"
Riku said nothing but stared at them with a smirk, wiping his blood off his lip as collected himself.
"Hah like that bastard could do anything. Whatever Li, next time I catch you even looking at my girl, It's your blood I'm going after!"
Sakura's eye twitched 'HIS GIRL? What?'
Syaoran scoffed as Meilin turned to glare back at him "What girl?"
A blue-haired guy stepped in between the two groups "Alright Alright! Everyone! Now settle down, I believe we all know this is all Neutral grounds on this school and all this fighting is prohibited." He turns to Riku.
"Riku I believe? I'm Eriol Hiiragizawa. Pleasure. Now that we all have calmed down, let's not continue on this barbaric situation and go on with classes for today alright? SyaoSyao?"
Eriol smiled as Syaoran grunted. Both boys from either side took an evil glance at each other and nodded hesitantly. Well sort of.
"Remember Li, stick with your kind or I won't hesitate on anything with you or your pack of bitches!" and with that, Riku started to walk off with his group but stopped in front of the frozen girl. He smiled at Sakura as he tried to touch her hand but she pulled away quickly, glaring at him.
"Fuck off Riku" Sakura spat.
He laughed a bit as he continued down the hallway with his team behind.
She felt sick. How the hell did she even consider going out with that douchebag?
People started to disappear in the hallway as Sakura looked at Syaoran.
The girl, Meilin, was arguing with the blue hair guy, Eriol, about something. Both boys holding Syaoran back abruptly let go of him as he gave them both death glares. He quickly looked over at the forgotten emerald beauty. Both angry eyes calmed down as he looked at her with calm features.
Sakura was about to say something until someone tapped her shoulder and she looked back at her teacher.
"Ms. Kinomoto, You may want to grab your belongings to go to your next class." He looked up to the other teenagers in the hallway.
"All of you, go to your classes!" He turned around and followed the other students back inside.
Sakura was still staring at Syaoran but turned to follow her teacher.
'I hope he is ok. Going to have to talk to Riku about this whole 'My Girl' bullcrap he pulled today' she thought as she saw Xue already had her belongings in her bag.
"Xue! You didn't have to..." Sakura said as she grabbed her bag from him and he smiled.
"It's fine cherry, we all heard the commotion from inside but the teacher didn't do anything until the damn bell rang. What happened?"
Both students started walking out with Xue walking with her closely. The minute they were in the hallway and seeing the gang standing there, Xue dropped the question.
Seeing his sister arguing with Eriol and having that look on her face was something he would have to ask later on when she cooled down. There's only one person who can piss her off that much. Wonder what his cousin did now?
Not seeing Syaoran among the teens, Sakura just continued on her way to her next class with Xue behind her.
"You hanging in there Cherry?" Xue asked, concerned about the look she had upon her face.
Sakura nodded "I'll tell you later ok?"
Later on at Lunchtime
The lunchroom was still pretty loud while people chatted away and laughed. The big topic today was the whole fight that happened earlier.
Sakura was sitting at the cheerleader's table on one side of the room near the glass doors, fuming over the whole situation. She looked over at the football team's table and they were all laughing along with Riku as he said something to them.
"Sakura….Oh, Sakura..," Haruka poked at her "Can't have you drool over Riku now!"
Sakura looked back at her "Yeah right, like I would ever want to do that again!"
The whole table stopped and looked at her, eyes bulging out. Sakura looked at all the girls.
"Sorry girls but it's not going to happen" and with that, she pulled out her phone.
Nothing.
No text.
Is he mad at her?
Did Riku ruin any kind of chance she had with him?
Just when she was about to get up to leave her, the phone buzzed.
-I'm alright. So smile ne?-
Sakura Looked up, it didn't take long to see him across the room sitting at his table with his friends. He looked up from his phone and smiled at her. His headphones were in his ears.
~omg Syaoran I was so worried! I'm so sorry that happened this morning! I've never seen him act like that!~
-It's alright. I'm honestly not worried because he's a big pussy and I'm sorry for acting like an idiot.-
~No no it's fine. I'm just... glad your ok :)~
She looked up to see him already staring at her. They had such a blissful moment till his face changed to a worried look. She frowned till someone tapped her on the shoulder, trying to get her attention.
Riku smiled as he looked down at her with an innocent look.
"Hey Sak, just checking to see if you're ok. Still wanna hang out with me after school?" he sounded so pitiful it almost made her gag.
"I'm sorry Riku, but it's not going to work out. Trying to claim me without actually taking me out on a date is a no-go for me. And to act so differently like that...Thanks but no thanks" Sakura turned around back to her food and hoped he would just go away and not make it awkward.
Haruka opened her mouth not believing what was happening. Sakura turned down the most popular guy in school!
"Are you serious? I stood up to that dirtbag for you!" Riku looked disbelieved while pointing over to Syaoran's table.
Sakura turned around quickly and stood up in front of Riku. "What?! He didn't even do anything! You just needed an excuse to fight him and you used me!" She smacked his shoulder, hard "and if you think pulling that tough guy gig would impress me, you're out of your damn mind. Not interested Riku, so buzz off!"
She turned around to sit down and took a bite out of her lunch, feeling much better letting that out to him.
"Oh, I see. Rather be with trash than with me. Huh, guess I wouldn't want something Li wants. That says alot about you!"

Syaoran was watching Sakura the minute he spotted her across the room. She looked out of it and was barely paying attention to her chatty friends at the cheering table.

His music was blasting in his ears, it was to keep from listening to Meilin's rant. He knows that he almost fucked up and damn that woman for not having a mute button!
'Ugh, Li...just text her…'
Syaoran kept debating with himself. Should he be leaving her alone or not. He can't help that nagging feeling to see if she's ok or not. So he texted her and pressed the send button with hesitation. Never in his life would he ever feel so nervous then seeing her reaction and reply to his message till he felt his phone buzz. Syaoran's heart skipped a beat seeing her reply. He needs to make his move on this girl before she slips through his fingers!
After he replied as he looked up to see her. Sakura looked at her message from her phone and looked back up to smile at him. Man can he just stare at her all day if he could. Well, that was before he saw that bastard Riku come up behind her and talk with her. Syaoran was seriously about to get up and take care of unfinished business till Eriol, who was sitting next to him tapped him on the shoulder.
"You ok?" Eriol looked at his cousin with a concerned look on his face.
Syaoran took his headphones off and looked over back at Eriol, "What? I'm fine. Just wondering if Gramps is gonna give me the talk again or not." His eyes went back to look over at an angry Sakura who smacked Riku. Atta girl.
Eriol nodded "None of us told him if you're concerned about that and none of the teachers know about the situation. Luckily Meilin and the guys were their t..." He looked at Syaoran who wasn't listening to him anymore. His eyes were somewhere else. Eriol then looked over to see what was distracting his cousin so much and smiled a bit.
"and so the wolf found his flower..."
Syaoran looked back at Eriol after seeing Sakura sit down again. Guess she took care of that.
"What did you say?"
"Oh, nothing! Cute little cousin..." Eriol took a bite out of his sandwich smiling wide as ever.
"You know how much I hate when you call me that Eri-"
Syaoran was cut off when everyone in the cafeteria room gasped and he quickly looked back to Sakura, Who was grasping her right hand in a fist and Riku was on the floor clutching his nose.
"You fucking BITCH!" Riku yelled and he scrambled up on his feet, nose gushing blood as he glared at her. "You'll pay for this!"
"Say something about me again and next time it'll be more than your nose" Sakura threatened Riku as she grabbed her things and ignored everyone as she quickly walked out of the cafeteria.
Everyone at the Wolf table laughed as they saw Riku look back at them with a dirty look and walked off in a different direction.
"Serves him right fucking prick," Meilin said as she took a bite out of her apple. She was sitting down on Akio's lap.
"Now I hope to make it in the cheer team. She's a badass!" Chiharu giggled as she held on to Takashi's arm.
"Looks like she's something right little-" Eriol looked over to Syaoran but he was already gone. "Hungry Like the Wolf..." He sang a bit as he smiled and took a sip from his drink.
Outside
'She moves fast!'
Syaoran was hoping his gut was right about where she would be at. As he exited the cafeteria, he quickly ran down the hallway and out the door. He made his way to his favorite spot under his favorite tree and there she was. Looking as beautiful as ever. He made his way towards Sakura as she was too busy holding her right hand.
"Pretty brave of you to do that"
Sakura looked up to see Syaoran only a few feet away from her. Not only was it a sight for sore eyes but she almost forgot the pain in her hand.
"Well I couldn't let him get away talking about me or you like that. Pretty sure it broke my friend's heart knowing he was a douchebag instead of the dreamy football hero she thinks he is" Sakura smiled as Syaoran sat next to her.
"May I?" He pointed towards her hand and she nodded as she showed her red knuckles to him.
"Damn I looked away for one second and missed the glorious moment" Syaoran smiled as Sakura giggled.
"Well, hopefully, it won't affect how my team sees me" She sighed as she realized that he was holding her hand still. She didn't move.
"Nah, pretty sure if anything, just makes the new girls hope they get picked for the squad," Syaoran said. He knew he was holding her hand but they were too soft to let go.
"If so, then they are more than welcome! But no meathead boyfriends" Sakura laughs as she looks down at their hands. She turned his hand over and saw numerous scars on his knuckles. "You fight a lot?"
Syaoran nodded "No mostly all from training. I trained most of my life, thanks to gramps" He looked at her as she continued to look at his hands. 'So curious….'
Sakura looked up at him and stared back at him as she placed his hands down. "We should get going since lunch is almost over. I have to put up my list today after school and the first day of practice starts tomorrow."
Both of them got up and walked back to the school, both in close distance from one another.
"So...are you kinda free today after school then? I mean before practices start tomorrow?" Syaoran asked nervously. He gripped his bag in one hand and the other holding his iPod in his pocket.
"I have no plans today," Sakura replied curiously. She's hoping he's doing what she thinks he's about to do. Both were in the school hallway again but with some people around minding their own business.
"Well how about that date then? Dinner and a movie? Tonight at 7 pm" Syaoran looked at her with hopeful eyes. Sakura smiled and looked down as she giggled. She looked back up at him and smiled at him, her emerald eyes almost shining.
"Thought you would never ask! Text me later and I'll send you my address?" Sakura started to walk down the hallway backward, only looking back so she wouldn't run into anyone.
Syaoran nods "I'll text you then!" He couldn't believe he did that. He gets to see her again and later on...tonight!
"Ok no more fights today! Don't want my hunky date to be black and blue later. See ya" Sakura winks and turns to start heading back to her classroom.
Syaoran stood there watching her disappear in the crowd of students, not believing his luck that day. He smiled as he pulled his iPod out and put on his headphones while walking to his next class. Nothing a little Modern English to set his mood right.
