I know, I know, I should be working on my other story but writers block is apparently a thing. This idea kinda just came to my head. Not my best work but I'm just happy I got something on paper. (Well technically its not on paper cause I'm typing...) and as always, I hope you enjoy!
Garica wouldn't call herself persistent. She wouldn't call herself that. It was more of a good thing then bad, and was favorable when it came to work. Always getting things done no matter how hard digging out some dirt might be. It also came in handy a lot of times. Though most of those times were for personal gain, still handy. However what happened that Saturday morning wasn't a result of her asking.
It was a gorgeous summer day. The ones they would describe in stories, where the grass seems greener than usual, and the birds chirping sounded like beautiful tunes. The flowers seem to bloom because they found joy in doing so, and not because it was a natural function. The sun beamed rays of light as bright as its smile.
Across town, a just as gorgeous blonde was taking advantage of the nice weather. Extra advantage than usual because as rare as it was, she had a day off today. Errands would have to have gotten done either way, but as she basically skipped down the street, she didn't mind having to leave the house that much. Sunglasses being very nicely put to use, for the brightness from the earth's heater was making itself clearly present. Her sandals gracefully clapped with the ground, delicately polished toe nails finally being freed from the regular shoes. The nice breeze that flew by every couple minutes kept from being uncomfortably hot, and instead felt nice as it passed through her yellow sundress which stopped right above her knees. The pattern of small pink flowers scattered around the fabric matched the ones in the flower shops exactly.
When so said blonde made her way up the stairs to her apartment, pushing her sunglasses up onto her head, her hair still cascaded flawlessly down her shoulders. Running errands had been fun. This had been made a fact as she placed the paper bags onto the kitchen counter. However, the genius (who was finally awake) that came after errands….well, that might have been just the tiniest bit better.
Unfortunately, the colorful blonde back in the other side of town wasn't having as much fun. It was hypocritical in a way. Her whole team complained of how little personal time they had. Not that any of them had much of a life out of work. Their families were each other. It just so happened that their friends were each other as well. If it had been another ordinary day, Penelope would have found something to do. Anything was better than having to figure out how old some guy was when his dad left, or how many times some girl had been abused. At least for a day, she knew she couldn't do without work for more than a week.
But it was such a beautiful day outside. She might have sounded like some mom named Cristy, telling her son Mike to get off the damn computer for a while and go outside, but for once in her life, she really didn't want to face a screen. So she had a plan. Not some evil plan that consisted of fire breathing dragons, and knights who would nobly slash their throats, because if that was the kind of plan she was thinking of, she would have been the one to kill the dragon. And the knight.
No, her plan was pretty normal. She was gonna get her girlfriends together and they were gonna have a girls day. She didn't know yet if they would just chill at the park, talking about nothing or if they were gonna go on an adventure, but whatever it was, no matter what possibility that was going to be explored today, she wasn't gonna let this beautiful day go to waste.
Garcia didn't understand why JJ wouldn't pick up. It definitely wasn't late, but it wasn't exceptionally early either. Especially for her media friend. Her mental alarm rang at the crack of dawn. She had already called Emily, not giving the profiler even a second to decide if she even wanted to come. She was supposed to stop and pick her up, but after finding that JJ seemed to have fallen off the face of the earth, she had informed Emily that she would be a couple minutes late. Penelope decided on a surprise visit. She would just wake JJ up, stick her in some clothes and pull her out the door. It's not like JJ hadn't done the same to her. The BAU girls had that kind of friendship. They all kinda just stopped by whenever. Spare keys were the equivalent to God for them.
Although, when Penelope walked into the apartment, she knew something wasn't right. She had opened the door quietly, closing it with the same amount of silence. She was already playing on dragging her friend out, and she wouldn't want her to wake thinking that there was some stranger in her house. When she looked over and saw grocery bags that didn't look like they had become vintage at all, she knew her friend had to be awake. Or at least was. JJ wouldn't just leave her things like this. The paper bags looked to have contents that need refrigeration, and JJ wouldn't have just left it here! Garicas panic slightly subsided when she heard giggling from another room.
Walking as quietly as possible down the hallway, Penelope's mind couldn't comprehend what she was hearing. When her small steps took her to a point to which she could see (or more confirm) who was the root of laughter, her eye nearly bulged out her head.
JJ was quick to find out that she wasn't the only one who had an extra pep in her step. She remembers a familiar pair of arms wrapping around her, and the whispered greeting in between the kisses on her neck. How they had made their way to her room, was a little fuzzy. Kissing full of smiles, the ones where one of you grin, which cause the other to grin, which then cause a smile to spread of over both your faces to the point that kissing is almost impossible, and the fact to she was almost certain that she had been carried was probably why she could exactly recall all the steps.
"Did you know," His words were mumbled into her lips, "The most sold fruits during the summer are watermelon, blueberries, an cherrys"
She hummed for him to continue somewhere along the kisses, pulling on his t-shirt to bring him down closer.
"And it has been scientifically proven that humans are happier during the summer."
JJ pulled away, moving one hand that was in his hair to cup his jaw. It was hard not to smile when those big doe hazel eyes look back at her.
"Spence, as happy as the summer makes me," she said, bringing her other hand down to tug at the waistband of his shorts, "I'd be even happy if these were off"
Spencer let out a chuckle rolling off of her. His laughing only continued when he saw the look on her face. Her face was covered in an exaggerated look of offence as she swatted at his chest, nonetheless pulling herself up to straddle him.
"Your games are mean doctor"
Her tone was teasing, and though the offended look on her face was trying so hard to show real hurt, the smile tugging at the corner of her lips were making it even more unbelievable.
"Nuh uh," Spencer defended, "My games were just fine. You're the one who got touchy."
He was pulling up his arms, using his elbows to prop himself up. Her dress was sprawled out all around her, while some of it covered him, the light fabric still brushed her legs.
"OK fine, were even." JJ surrendered.
She brought one of her hands to her thigh, finding his along the way and interwinding their fingers. The warm smile that crossed her face was automatic. It was moments like these that she treasured the most. Where they didn't have a case to worry about, where she could kiss him all she wanted and no one would interpret. The moments where home Spencer came out, because she was quick to find out that he was extremely different out of work. However, the look on Spencer's face told her that he had other plans. His eyebrow raised in a teasing way and a smirk formed his list.
"We don't have to be even," he said, playfulness evident in his tone, "I mean I could-"
He brought his hands up to the yellow material on his chest and pulled it up, leaning his head closer.
"Spencer!" JJ gasped, quickly picking up on what he was inferring.
She pushed her hand flat down onto his chest, bringing her dress down. Her face flushed red and all he did was laugh. He dropped his arms, falling fully on the bed now, laughing at his girlfriend's reaction. He looked up at her to see her face painted in an adorable color of pink.
"Are you blushing?" he asked in between giggles.
She shook her head but her cheeks just went darker. He used the hand that was intertwined with hers to pull her down, and his free hand he brought to her waist.
"It's not funny," she mumbled.
Her blue eye looked everywhere but at his, as she thought about the last time she'd felt his mouth on her. The first time it happened, she swore that every time after that wouldn't measure up, but how wrong she was. He only seemed to get better.
Finally, she met her lover hazel pools, small crinkles under his eyes from his smile. Her flush from before seemed to die down, her face starting to go back to there normal color. She reached up to cup his cheek. His eyes danced around her face. Looking at every bit of soft skin, every curve near her jaw, every hair on her lashes, every line that came out when a certain expression did, all of it. The gorgeous face he had engraved into his memory. Yet her beauty amazed him every time.
"You're so adorable," he said lovingly.
And it was very much true. There were sometimes where she was the most dazzling thing he'd ever seen. The times where her charm made him want to ravish every bit of her. Times that made him want to show her how incredible she was and how incredible she made him feel. There were other times where she looked like a little angel. Her delicate features gracefully painted her, showing off how pretty she was even without makeup. There were also times like these where she was cuter than a button. The times where he could make her cheeks bright red, and her pure blue eyes looked all kinds of adorable. But no matter how she looked, whether her looks made him want to make her moan, or if it made him want to cuddle for the whole afternoon, she was always extremely beautiful. JJ rolled her eyes at his comment, but a smile tugging on her face. She was quick to lean up and attach her lips to his. He tilted his head as well, kissing back with the exact same amount of love.
Penelope had to use every bone in her body not to make a sound. She was more than 100 percent sure that she wasn't supposed to be seeing this. After the first initial shock, she had to keep from expressing her excitement. There was no doubt that JJ had a special smile reserved only for Boy Wonder, and the fact that he clearly had a thing for her as well only made the teasing more fun. She expected this to happen sooner than later.
But JJ hadn't told her anything. She broke girl code. Though it could be because there was an unspoken rule that agents weren't allowed to date, and the two agents in the room next door looked pretty comfortable. But it was girl code!
Garica backed away as quiet as she had come in. She had stayed around for a bit, but when the making out started to get heated, she swallowed down the shock and darted out of there. Garica didn't know why she tried to keep her steps quiet and her voice silent while she made her way to her car, she wasn't in JJ's apartment anymore. But when she made it inside her way home and drove out from the complex parking lot, she literally could not help the squeal that came out of her.
Emily was peacefully waiting for Garica or JJ to text her, telling her they were here. However, what she got was an eager knock on the door. Confused as to why the girls would actually come up, she raised an eyebrow but made her way to the door nonetheless.
"Hey Pen-"
Emily didn't even get to finish before the door slammed behind Penelope. Emily watched as her friend paced the length of the room. She just stood there waiting for an explanation. It was better to let her talk first before asking questions.
"I-I don't even know where to start!" Garica exclaimed.
"Take your time Pen, but why don't we start with where JJ is." Emily said calmly.
Garcia had come to accept it was a profiler thing. You either sounded like the world could come crashing down and you would still be zen, or you sound like Hotch.
"That's the thing!" Garcia started laughing in between her words, "JJ's busy."
Emily had somehow gotten Gairca to explain everything that happened. She had gotten the blonde calm enough to explain her knowledge, however Emily had gotten Garica riled up again because she herself was also freaking out.
"You saw everything!" Emily asked, though she already knew the answer.
"All of it!"
Other than the fact that Garica could maybe get in trouble if this was another person was the only bad thing about this situation. The rest was all gold.
Her first instinct was to pick out the phone and tell Emily. But the realization that she was driving hit her quickly. The fact that telling someone was her first thought made her understand why the couple hadn't told anyone. Remembering that she was due to pick up Emily, she took the left turn instead of the right and basically flew out of her seat when she reached the profiler's place. She rushed up the stairs, wouldn't be surprised if she missed a couple steps.
Penelope had hacked her way into JJ phone. It was only for some innocent fun. All she did was turn the ringer on. Then she proceeded to call her friend, and finally, she picked up.
"Hello"
"Me and Em are picking you up in 10 minutes. Be ready!"
And just like that the call was over. Emily and Gairca giggled at their plans before hopping in the car and heading over to JJ's.
When they got there the blonde was already waiting outside, in the same sunny yellow dress Garica had seen her in before. She swiftly walked to the car, hoping in the backseat.
"Hi guys!"
Her greeting was so pure, so innocent. So clueless. To JJ this was one of their regular get togethers. They happened to have these every so often. There shouldn't have been anything suspicious about it, but the atmosphere felt wired.
"Ok what's going on?" JJ asked.
Emily was going to go on the route of acting like she had no idea what JJ was talking about. Garica had different plans.
"Lets play a game!" Garcia blurted.
Though Emily had an idea of where she was going with this but still raised an eyebrow. Leave to Garica to take this route inside of just blatantly asking.
"The rules are you can't lie and you have to say something." Penelope explained as she pulled over on some random street.
"Emily do you have any secrets?"
Emily shook her head, not daring to speak because if she opened her mouth the only thing coming out would be laughter. Gairca gave her a big smile and tuned in her seat to look at JJ.
"Peaches! Secrets, do you have any?"
It was more of a demand and less of a question. JJ hesitantly shook her head. Clearly very confused.
"JJ!," Garica exclaimed, "No lying"
JJ held her hands up in surrender.
"I'm not. I basically live with you guys, there's not much I can keep a secret."
The expression on the Pen's face made both JJ and Emily burst into laughter. It was one thing the two had learned quickly about their best friend. She was very expressive.
"Oh really huh," Penelope accused, ready to get the secret out of her friend one way or another, "So there's no secret going on with you and Boy Wonder? You sure you two haven't been getting nice and comfy with each other?"
The immediate pause in JJ's laughing gave it away. Her face flushed and her eyes didn't dare to meet their eyes. She tried to say something but the only thing she could get out were defensive words that were barely understandable because of her stuttering.
Garica knew she was persistent. She usually had to do a bit more digging but in the end she always got what she wanted. She never in a million years thought that the evidence would be shoved in her face. Though she had just happened to stumble on it, she would still consider it a gift from the universe.
JJ knew of this. Well the part on where Garica somehow always ended up getting her answers. The part about her catching the interaction between her and her secret lover, that was new. Today started off as such a sunny day. The sky was that happy shade of blue, and the few clouds up there were perfectly sculpted. Her morning had also been quite great. She ran some errands that were overdue, had some nice coffee for breakfast and not the liquid the FBI dyed balck and heated up. She got home to a house full of love Even if love was a skinny genius who she had gotten to relearn earlier that under his clothes he wasn't as slim as he looked. She was excited to go out with her friends, girls' days where they actually went out instead of deciding to be lazy at one of their houses did not happen as often as it could.
With all the times of them being friends JJ knew not to have any sort of plan, they were all a mess. Yet, this was not what she had in mind. Spilling a drink or ripping a dress was more of what she had thought. At the moment she was being stared down by a very persistent Garica and profiled by a very amused Emily.
JJ wasn't sure she would get out alive.
