Klink's review went as Hogan planned, of course. "I had a great score until the end, and then he changed his mind," Klink moped that evening.
"Did he give you any hints about why?"
"I suspect it had something to do with the dog that ran off with his shoe," Klink said, and Hogan started in surprise. He just said to make something go wrong at the end. Apparently his men had been creative. "Then he stubbed his toe on the stairs trying to get it back. They are surprisingly solid."
Hogan hummed thoughtfully. Yes, those gold bricks were solid.
