As I came out of my room, it was still morning, and the smell of breakfast was in the air.
"Zach!" My mother's voice said "breakfast is ready!"
"Coming" I yelled as I ran down the stairs
As I came to the bottom of the stairs, I jumped off at the last two steps and landed with a thud on the floor
As I went inside the kitchen, I found my father at the table with some coffee and mother at the stove cooking
"Good morning Zach, sleep well?" She said
That's my mother, Lila, she's a demon. She has long silver hair with red eyes, She may look intimidating but she's very nice to me and everyone else she meets.
"Yes I did mother." I said as I sat down at the same table of my father
As I looked over at my mother to see what she was cooking, I saw she made me pancakes.
"Hungry, aren't you Zach?" My father said
That man is my father, Kenneth. Unlike my mother he's not a demon, he's a normal man. He is a firm but nice father.
"I totally am!" I said as I pick up my silverware
"Well don't worry, the food is done!" My mother chimed in as she came over to the table and placed a plate of 2 large pancakes in front of me
"Thank you mom!" I stared at the short stack of pancakes
"Is there something wrong honey?" She asked
"Not really, but only two?" i asked
"Yes there's only two but they are big, maybe I'll make the stack bigger for your eight birthday that's coming up!" Lila said as she brought the pan over to the sink and started to clean it.
"Thanks Mom!" I started to cut into my pancakes.
"So, I was planning to go into the village for the day to let your father focus on his work today, do you want to come with me and have fun after breakfast?" Lila asked as she continued to clean
"Sure Mom!" I said as I continued to eat
(Time skip)
After we got ready, we left the house and started the trail to the town, I turned towards my mother
"Hey Mom?"
"Yes honey?" My mother looks down at me
"I was just wondering but... Can you teach me to be like you?" I asked
"What do you mean?" She looked at me with a slight confused
"I want you to teach me to be as strong as your mom!" I said as I looked up at her
When I said this she stopped in her tracks and she knelt down to my height
"Look at me honey..." She looks straight at me with her red eyes and her sliver hair almost glows from the morning sunlight behind her. "It's not how powerful you are, it's your will to protect those important to you that drives you to become stronger." Lila said
"Ok" I said while I nodded
She got off her knees and stood back up
"Just try and remember that as you get older, and you'll understand." She said as she held down her hand to me, I grabbed her hand and we continued to the village.
(Time skip)
As we entered the small village, I looked up at mother
"So what were your errands mommy?" I asked
"Just got to get a few things sweetie, and maybe we could have some fun?
"Ok!" I nodded
We walked around the village for a while, doing errands and having fun as we ran around in the village for the day.
When we noticed that the sun was starting in the distance so we decided to head back.
"I had fun today mommy" I said as I along with Lila
"Glad you did" she patted my head "Come on, let's go back home"
"Ok" I nodded as I following her out of the village
As we were about to exit the village my mother stopped walking, I turned towards her and she was looking off to the side, I looked towards where she was looking and I noticed a man selling things on a little cart
"What's wrong mom?" I asked
"Stay right here Zach, I'll be right back" lila said as she approached the man
She looked at the man's cart of goodies for a while until she pointed at something on the cart. The man nodded, saying a few words that I couldn't hear, my mother nodded as she pulled her money pouch from her pocket and paid the man, he took the money and gave my mother an item from the cart. Once that was all finished she walked back to me
"So what did you get mother?" I asked Lila as she approached me with a hand behind her back
"Turn around and close your eyes honey, its a surprise" she said, waiting for me
I nodded, turned around and closed my eyes
After a second, I suddenly felt something around my neck, a bit cold to the touch, but has a hard metal feel. After a few seconds, I hear a slight snap noise, then I feel metal on the back of my neck
"Ok, now open your eyes" she said
As I opened my eyes I looked down to see what it was, there was a necklace, one with a bright green gem
"For me?!" I exclaimed
"Yes" Lila said
"Really!" I asked again
'Yes honey, I bought it for you, hope you like it!" She said with a smile
"Thank you!" I said excitedly as I looked down at the necklace
Lila looked over towards the setting sun
"Come on Zach, let's go home and have some dinner." She said holding out her hand to me
"Ok!" I took her hand and we left the village
(Time skip)
By the time we got close to home the sun had fully set and it was starting to get dark. We were approaching our house when something stopped us.
"Going somewhere this late Lila?" A firm womanly voice call out from behind us
We turned around and there were four girls one of each color They looked familiar, then I remembered, my mother talked about them once, they were the goddesses of gameindustry: purple heart, black heart, white heart, and green heart. While still holding my hand, Lila pulled me behind her with some force.
"Why are all four of you here..." Lila said
For some reason she looked tense, Lila told me that the goddess safeguarded the peace, so why does she look so afraid of them?
"We're here for you, Lila" Purple heart said
"Ok... I'm here, so what do you need...?" Lila asked
All four of them summoned their weapons out of thin air
"Your life would be a start!" White heart shouted
The air around us started to get really tense
"Zach, listen to me" Lila said "go inside and find your father, then get far away from here..."
I looked up at her
"Bu- but what about you mommy?" I asked
"Just listen to me Zach... I'll be fine, you shouldn't stay here, go find your father." As she said that, flames started to gather near her right hand, and then started to grow and change into a long sword with a red gem hilt.
"Bu-"
"I said go Zach!" Lila shouted
"Ok..." I said as I ran inside
Once I got inside I slammed the door behind me
"Dad!?" I shouted
No immediate response, but just on the other side of the door I heard a loud metal on metal kind of noise.
I got to hurry up.
I searched up and down the house for him, but I found him in his upstairs office with headphones on, I ran up to my and and started to yank his arm
"Dad come on! We have to go!" I shouted
"To where?" He asked
I explained to him what Lila said to me and who was waiting for us. He listened to me, and the way I explained it started to make him afraid
"Ok, let's get out of here" my father said
But he said that we heard a loud crash come from downstairs
"Find him!" Came a voice
The voice wasn't Lila, but one of the goddesses.
They were inside, we were trapped.
"W-What do we do?!" I asked, trying not to raise my voice
I looked up at Ken and he looked like he didn't have a clue either. We heard them staring up the stairs, my father quietly pulled me into the closet in the room and closed its doors behind us.
He put his finger to his mouth to signal to me to be quiet, there was a little gap of light from the closet entrance. I looked through the crack to see that Black heart entered. At first she took a look around the room, she started towards my father's desk and completely flipping it against the wall. Next her gaze turned towards the cabinets, using her sword she destroyed them with ease, with the contents scattered throughout the room. After a sigh I came from her mouth, she turned towards the closet we were hiding in, she started to approach the closet but stopped right before it.
"Hey Vert, have you found them yet?!" Green heart shouted
"No, have you?" A voice came back
"Might've" she said as she ready to her sword
I moved away from the crack when suddenly Black heart's sword came crashing through the closest doors with a loud bang. I let out a yelp because it almost hit my head
"Found them!" Black heart called as she grabbed my father
I took my chance, I got out of closet and started to run out of the room. As I got out of the room I ran into something hard and firm, as I fell back, I looked up at what I ran into, I ran into Green heart.
"And just where are you going?" She asked
"Uh, Um..." I stuttered
But she didn't didn't care, she grabbed me and brought me downstairs alongside my father
They brought us back the the main entrance, where there was now a large hole in the wall, created by the CPU's
As I looked through the hole in the wall, I saw my mother fighting Purple heart and White heart.
They got us on our knees while still restraining in front of the hole, when the other goddess saw us they stopped fighting, said something, and Lila turned around.
"Goodbye..." Said Black heart
She then proceeded to beheaded my father
"FATH-" I tried to scream out but a dull thud and pain stopped me
I looked down to where the pain was, and there was Green heart's spear, it was protruding from where my heart would have been. I tried to do something but all I could come up with was noises, and my consciousness was fading, the world around me was getting darker and darker. But before everything went black I heard a shriek, like none I have ever heard of.
