A/N: Aaaahhh! I haven't written or done anything with this website for weeks. I've been going through some very hard times and I just don't know how to process it all. It's sapped my motivation to be creative, even with the reintroduction of Word to my laptop. I have just been horrible.

This one-shot has nothing to do with Tbeirs/Becoming Theirs. It's just a random one-shot.

OOOOOOOOOOO

A black haired girl with glasses moved through the crowd on the street and her eyes searched for someone she had missed for such a long time. She hadn't left her house in days, not going anywhere but doctors appointments for weeks. Part of her wondered if he was even going to be there.

"Samantha," she heard her name whispered on the wind, causing her to pause. "Samantha…"

The girl looked around and saw a platinum haired sex god leaning in the shadows of a telephone pole. A smile crossed her lips and she hurried over to him, throwing herself into his arms. "David!"

David cupped the back of her head in one large hand and tangled his fingers in her long hair while hugging her tightly against his chest. "Samantha, you're here."

Samantha sighed in agreement. She blinked her eyes and looked up at him. "I've missed you. But I can't make a promise of when I'll be around all the time again."

The leader of the Lost Boys nodded and let go of her. "The Boys miss you."

"And I miss them." Her lips twitched. "I miss you."

David brushed his fingertips against her lips, cool to the touch but soft. Samantha was reminded of kisses snuck when the other Boys weren't looking. Of hard ones that stole her breath away and tender ones that made her want to melt. It was something she missed greatly and kept her going in her darkest moments.

David's blue eyes searched hers in the near dark. "Are things really that bad that you can't see us like you used to?"

Samantha stared at his chest. "It's not great. I've been dealing with a lot of things in my mind that I just need some time to myself to fix."

"You go missing for weeks, Samantha."

"Depression mixed with PTSD will do that to you." She shrugged. "I'm working on it, but it's taking it's time with all the other mental illnesses and the stress of having to be an adult on my own now."

David leaned his head back on the pole and looked up at the sky. "I did make you that offer to have us be your roomies."

"You did."

"You refused."

"I did."

"How does it feel to grow up, Samantha?" David asked, smirking playfully.

"I'm falling behind on bills, that's adult enough for me," Samantha said, smiling back. "Be glad you're a vampire and have no bills to pay." She held a hand up. "That is not a request to make me your Lost Girl."

"You're already my Lost Girl," David stated, eyes blazing.

As she usually did when he got that look in his eyes, Samantha melted, but she held his gaze as best as she could. "Forever?"

"Forever."

"Yay," Samantha sang softly.

David touched her cheek. "Have you at least been eating?"

"Yeah. And I'm learning to bake." Samantha leaned into his touch. "I'm learning all these new things to help me get by. I'm just taking a break from reality to give my brain a chance to heal and process all that's changed this past year." She sighed. "I didn't want to leave you all hanging, but I haven't been myself lately."

David stared at her. "And we can't help?"

"You help more than you know," Samantha told him. "But I haven't had the energy to write or paint or read or put makeup on, even though I now have the freedom to do all of it." She looked up at him with wide eyes. "David, I didn't even seem to realize that I could make coffee anytime I wanted with my own coffeemaker until a couple hours before I left the house tonight."

"Ah, the cycle of abuse."

"I guess," Samantha said, looking down again and bouncing on her toes. "I have a lot to work through. Therapists and doctors to talk to. Medications to try and remember to take. Put in a lot of work and energy to make sure I don't fall back into that dark place that I don't want to go back to. I have a long way to go before I can be the me that I deserve to be. That I want to be."

David put his fingers under her chin and tilted her face up so he could look her in the eye again. "We're still going to be calling you and making sure you're all right. Every day until you run the nights with us on a regular basis again. When you crossed us all those years ago, you got stuck with us."

Samantha offered a wan smile. "I know, David, and I appreciate it."

David brushed his thumb over her bottom lip. "I'm holding you to your word that you'll be back for good someday soon, Samantha."

"I know."

The vampire smirked. "Damn you're cute."

Samantha stuck her tongue out at him. "I know that too."

"Good. That's some progress you've made. All hope is not lost." David rolled his eyes. "The angels sing in joy."

The Lost Girl pushed at his shoulder and backed up. "You are one of the rudest, most insensitive jerks I -"

David grabbed her and kissed her hard. Fire coursed through her veins and warmed her body. The heat felt wonderful after feeling cold for so long with no energy in her. She wrapped her arms around David and kissed him back, trying to convey how grateful she was to him. For him. The vampire only pulled his lips away from hers when the girl's lungs protested.

David pressed another kiss to her lips, this one quick and smirked. "You were saying, little Lost Girl?"

Samantha stomped her foot near his and David laughed. The sound was warm and pleasant to her ears and filled her with happiness. She didn't care if the next morning she woke up feeling out of sorts, at least right now she was surrounded by happiness.

She was turned away from the houses around them and saw his motorcycle parked in the street. David brought his lips to her ear, tickling her with his barely there breath.

"Come for a ride with me," David said, brushing his nose against her hair.

The girl nodded. "Yes. But you have to take me home in a little while. I already took my meds and I don't want to pass out and wake up in your cave with the Boys again." She gave him a look. "You hid my shoes from me and took my jeans off."

"That was one time and you were more comfortable not having your insides squished."

"That was three times and I sleep without pants half the time now anyway," Samantha retorted. She put her hand up. "No, you all can't come see."

David rolled his eyes and led the way over to the motorcycle. "I'll see when I want to see."

Samantha mounted the motorcycle behind David and held onto him as he drove off through the crowded street. A happy feeling settled deep in her core.

OOOOOOOOOO

Samantha climbed off David's motorcycle after a long drive around the city and stepped onto the sidewalk in front of her house. She could tell by the way that David was idling the bike that he really wanted to either go in with her or scoop her up and take her away to his little place by the ocean. She was afraid that he couldn't do either.

"Thank you for seeing me tonight, David," she said, shoving her hands in her pockets. "And thanks for the ride."

"And the kisses and the hot chocolate and the barking at that Surf Nazi," David counted off on his fingers. "You really took advantage of me and my charms tonight, love."

Samantha rolled her eyes. "You're an ass."

"You love this ass."

"I do, so give me a chance to heal, to find my own personal strength again. I want to be able to get out of bed in the morning, go to work, and create worlds again or just be apart of one that I loved all over again." She put a hand on his shoulder. "I just need to get my head on straight and find the energy to do this."

"Time is a bitch."

"It is."

"Yours is ticking." David shook his head. "I don't like that."

"It's going to be fine," Samantha assured him. "Think positive thoughts." She leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek. "I'll see you around, David."

Samantha turned and walked towards her house. David revved his motorcycle.

"See you later, Samantha."

OOOOOOOOOOOO

A/N: So…I will promise nothing but that I'm struggling and healing. Even this took effort. But I got it done. I just hope I can get back to me soon and run with my ideas some more. Thanks! -Scarlet
