Chapter 1: First Meeting
She was running out of time and she hated herself for it. Bunnyx had the power to move through time and somehow she didn't see this coming. She could comfort herself with the fact that everything had happened so fast but that wasn't helping at all.
How do you predict the deaths of Paris's most beloved heroes? Or how do you predict Chat Noir's giving up his miraculous and leaving Paris to Hawkmoth? Or the unexplainable way that the cat miraculously found its way back to Chat but only for him to become akumatized? The answer was you don't. Bunnyx had been having a feeling that something bad was going to happen but no matter how hard she searched through the different times and dimensions she didn't find anything suspicious. Then everything had happened so fast and quick that she was blinded and struggling to fix everything.
She knew deep down that nothing could fix what had happened. She also knew that Chat Blanc had figured out a way to capture her. In all honesty, she was terrified of him but she had accepted her fate. She had come up with a plan. She would doom this Paris but she would save another. She had seen the events leading up to Chat Blanc happening again in another dimension. She would sacrifice herself to the Chat Blanc that was going to capture her. She would destroy her miraculous and let Chat Blanc kill her therefore stopping him from traveling throughout time. Then she would send someone that would derail the events of Chat Blanc from happening.
That's why she stood in a twenty-four-year-old Marinette Dupain-Cheng's bedroom. The girl was nowhere in sight and the entire bakery was silent. The room was rather dark except for the pale moonlight that shone through the balcony window. Bunnyx portal was shining bright behind her, it was reminding her of what she came for. She stepped towards Marinette's closet and threw it open and began to dig through the multiple boxes and articles of clothing. She finally pulled out the box she was looking for. The Ladybug of her time had shown it to her and showed her the secrets that lied within it when she realized bad things were going to happen.
She quickly opened the box and saw the Miraculous box that she was in charge of. She pulled it out and rested the box on her lap. The weight of what she was about to do suddenly fell on her, before she could back out she pressed the correct spots in the specific order and watched as the box fell open. The multiple miraculous shined up at her but she needed only one, she quickly grabbed the cat miraculous and put it in the same box she had received when she was given her miraculous. She closed the Miraculous box and quickly shoved it back to where it went and pocketed the cat miraculous and jumped through the portal. Marinette would know that something was wrong and would instantly be back. She could fix everything.

The moment she jumped through the portal she could see the small terrified figure that sat huddled in the center of her "burrow." Bunnyx had come to love the small figure, then again she had always loved the figure. She could remember the first time she had seen the little girl, she had been invited down to the hospital to be named godmother
.
It had been a bright summer day when it was announced that Marinette had finally gone into labor. Alix cheated and used her miraculous to get there faster than the others. She had ducked into an alley before strolling into the building and asking for Marinette's room. She had been directed to the top story of the building. She hadn't bothered knocking and instead had let herself into the room.
She could remember the sight of Marinette looking extremely tired but smiling down at the bundle in her arms. An older and much more handsome Luka Couffaine stood above Marinette while smiling down at Marinette's arms. It was that day that Alix Kubdel fell in love with the little girl named Adrien Couffaine. She was named after Chat Noir secret identity, Alix remembered that Marinette said that it would be a way to keep him closer to her heart after his disappearance. No one argued with her.
Tears stung Bunnyx eyes as she was reminded of the situation at hand. A chill ran down her back and she knew that Chat Blanc would be here any second. She reached down and pulled Adrian to her feet, and looked at the young girl. Her hair was the same black with blue reflective as her mother however the tips were dyed the colors of the rainbow. The girl stared up at her with tears in her eyes that made Bunnyx miss her parents even more than she already did. Her eyes were a perfect combination of Marinette's and Luka's. Adrien hugged herself as Bunnyx hugged the young girl. They broke the hug when an eerie voice floated through the air, "Where is my petite Chaton and bunny," he was here.
Bunnyx quickly opened the cat miraculous and tossed the box. She could see Adrien's eyes widened as Bunnyx put the ring on her finger. Bunnyx ignored the green glow that was announcing plaggs arrival.
She glanced around and didn't she Chat Blanc but she knew that he was coming she started talking to Adrien fast and quiet, "Adrian Couffaine here is the miraculous of the cat which grants the power of destruction, you will use it for the greater good, once the job is done-" her voice broke as an onslaught of tears started. She quickly wiped her eyes before shakily saying, "once the job is done you shall keep it and use it for the greater good, can I trust you?"
The girl stood tall and proud "You can trust me."
Bunnyx hugged the girl again and cried, "I love you my little bunny," the girl hugged her tighter, "I love you too Alix," there was a sickening crack behind them. They broke apart as Chat Blanc crept towards them, there was a sadistic smile on his face as he saw them, "My petite chaton! Come play with me!"
Plagg gasped somewhere behind them but Bunnyx pushed her towards the portal that would drop her somewhere in Paris. Chat Blanc crept closer and Bunnyx was quickly shoving Adrian towards the portal.
"Say Claws Out!" Bunnyx yelled.
Adrien suddenly nodded before whispering the transformation. There was a green light and there was Adrien dressed in the Cat themed super suit. Chat Blanc's baton dragged behind him as he watched them, his eyes sparkled when he saw the open portal behind them that led to Paris.
Without thinking Bunnyx shoved Adrien towards the portal, "Go! Remember what you have to do! I love you!" She watched as Adrien jumped through the portal, she could hear Adrien cry out, "I love you."
The portal suddenly disappeared behind them and Bunnyx looked towards Chat Blanc, his face hardened in anger before he started running at her. His hand was outstretched, she could see the cataclysm that was glowing white in his hand. She had approximately ten seconds before he reached her. She counted her moments.
Ten. The day Ladybug had given her the rabbit miraculous.
Nine. When she had married the love of her life.
Eight. When Marinette and Luka finally got married after their years of obliviousness.
Seven. When she got to hold Adrien for the very first time.
Six. When Chat Blanc took over Paris.
Five. Ladybug's last words and the promise Bunnyx made.
Four. She gripped her miraculous and threw it to the floor, "I'm sorry Fluff."
Three. She smashed her foot down onto the miraculous, there was a crack as it was destroyed. There was a pang in her chest as it felt like she destroyed a part of herself.
Two. In a flash of blue light, she was standing in her civilian clothes. The burrow around her was slowly fading away. There was pain spreading throughout her body as she looked at herself. She could see parts of her body fading in and out. She could see Chat Blancs face hardened in anger and understanding.
One. His hand connected with her body. It was as if millions of knives were stabbing her at the same time. She could see the pain in his expression as he too began to fade in and out. Through the pain, she smiled. She had done everything according to plan. Chat Blanc couldn't torture anyone anymore. While she wasn't able to save the future Paris, she was hopeful that little Adrien would be able to save the past Paris and would therefore lead the way to a better future.
There was a sudden burst of pain as she and Chat Blanc faded but then there was peace, and Alix knew that she had died. She could've sworn that she saw a smile on a spotted masked heroine as she glided to who knows where.
She hoped that Adrien would accomplish her mission.
*
Adrien was vaguely aware that she was falling. The wind was whipping at her face and the long braid that her hair had transformed into was trailing behind her.
"Kid you have to use the baton...KID!"
Even though the voice was yelling at her, she wasn't registering it. She only registered it when she finally forced her eyes open and nearly screamed at the sight of the concrete ground rising to meet her.
"THE BATON! USE THE BATON!"
She reached her hand behind her and quickly seized the baton that rested on her lower back. She turned it over in her hand and watched as the silver gleamed in the pale moonlight, she could see a glowing green paw print.
"If you press it the baton will expand to the length you want it. Remember you need to hold on tight, the moment the baton hits the ground the impact will travel up to you and possibly cause you to let go. So hang on tight."
She quickly realized that the voice talking to her was Plagg. She heeded his words and grabbed the baton. She took a deep breath and pressed her thumb to the bright green paw print. Instantly the baton extended and she tightened her hands around it, she swung her legs forward and wrapped them around the baton. She took a deep breath and tightened her body around the baton when suddenly the baton jolted. A loud clunk reverberated in the surrounding area and she winced at the sound. The baton stood tall and proud in the night sky as Adrien hung on. She didn't need Plagg to tell her what to do next, with another deep breath she pressed the print and used the baton to lower herself to the ground.
Her feet softly touched the ground without a sound. She chuckled to herself, she was as quiet as a cat. The baton that was now back to original size was put back to where it was before. She briefly looked at the leather gloves and claws on her hands. She could see a pale blue lined suit and her hair which had grown had the tips of her braid the same shade of blue. There was a bell on her suit that reminded her of Chat Blanc. She shuddered at the thought of him, but there was also a pang of sympathy that ran through her. She should have hated him, he had killed everything she had ever loved and had destroyed her entire world. However, she couldn't bring herself to hate him. Chat Blanc was the perfect supervillain, he had the backstory for one but he had fought against it for every moment until he lost. He was a lost soul that couldn't find his way back home. He needed saving, just like her.
She was ripped from her thoughts at the sound of footsteps on the concrete behind her. She spun around while grabbing her baton. It extended to her will and she held it protectively in front of her however the sight caused her to grow pale and shake.
Standing in front of her was none other than her father Luka and her Uncle Nino. They didn't know that but that didn't stop her from drinking in the sight of them. The last time they had seen them they were dead. She had held their dead, cold, and bloody bodies as she wished for them to return.
They were dressed in their civilian clothes, not their superhero suits. They looked younger and more youthful than they did in her time. Nino was tall. His hair was a bit longer than it had been in his youth and it was brushed to the side. He was dressed in simple jeans and red and black flannel, but he was alive, not dead. Her father looked the same and it brought tears to her eyes. He was tall, the tallest person she had ever met. Whenever her mother kissed him she would have to stand on her tiptoes or he would have to bend down. He had ripped jeans and a black t-shirt. The jacket he wore was his favorite, she knew that her mother had given it to him as a Christmas present when they were young. His hair was still black with blue tips. His eyes were her eyes. She desperately wished that he would recognize her but he wouldn't. She could see the suspicion in their eyes as they stared at her. Tears stung her eyes but she didn't care. They both knew that Ladybug didn't give her the miraculous, she would have told them.
At that moment she was the enemy, she knew how Chat Blanc felt.
"Who are you?" Her father's soft voice carried through the night and she held back her tears. She could see them move to stand defensively. They didn't trust her and her heart broke.
"I'm-" Adrien Couffaine, your daughter, "You can call me Chaton, what do I call you?"
They looked at each other before her father replied, "I'm Luka and this is Nino," he gestured to Nino.
She laughed and cried at the same time. Here was her father introducing him and her uncle to her even though she knew everything about them. Anger flashed through her but she didn't know where it had come from. Before she could stop herself she blurted out, "I think I'll call you Viperion and Carapace," their eyes widened before their faces hardened and they called for their transformation.
She stepped back as Plagg yelled in her head, "Run Kid! GO!" With instincts, she didn't know she had she extended the baton and catapulted herself into the sky, and landed on the roofs of the nearby buildings. Without looking back she ran. Her cat ears flicked behind her at the sound of them coming.
Plaggs voice once again rang in her ears, "Duck into the next alley," she didn't question him and did as he said. The black of her suit helped her escape as she lowered herself into the alley as he said. She kept deathly silent as she waited for them to pass. Seconds later she saw their forms jump over the alley as they ran off into the night.
She slumped against the wall and whispered, "Plagg claws in." In a flash of green light felt her superhero suit disappear and was left in her civilian clothes. Her thin sweater did nothing to protect her from the freezing cold. She sat there in silence as she stared at the dirty, disgusting, littered floor of the alley. Plagg was hovering to her left but she didn't dare look or say anything to him. She feared that if she spoke then she would start to cry. She didn't know how long she sat there but it was there long enough for the rain to start.
She was soaked to the bone when Plagg's voice had said, "Hey kid…" she didn't know why, but that was what made her cry. She sobbed and used her soaked sleeves to attempt to wipe the tears from her face, nothing was working though. She yelled in frustration before pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. She sat completely still as the rain continued to pound against her.
That was not how her first meeting with her parents was supposed to happen. When Bunnyx had told her the plan Adrien had come up with her own plan. She planned how she was going to tell them that she was their daughter, why she was here, how much she missed and loved them. But she had thrown it all out the window with her quick anger that made her lash out. Now she was the enemy. Viperion and Carapace would no doubt tell Ladybug what had happened and they would team up against her. She would be unable to stop Chat Blanc from happening. She wouldn't be able to complete her mission. Her family would have been so disappointed in her.
The tears resumed and she buried her face in her arms as she let go of everything that had been bottling up. She felt Plagg hug one of the hands that were wrapped around her legs. Through the rain and her tears, she heard him.
"Don't worry kid, we'll get through this together… I won't lose you too."
There was a pain in his voice and she knew that he was referencing Chat Noir. In that moment she trusted Plagg. He was her kwami now. They would get through this together. With his words, her tears subside. She looked to him and said, "thank you Plagg." They could do this. She wasn't alone.
They would finish her mission.
Together.
