Invasion by marriage
Keroro looked at the letter in dread, it was from HQ, and he had a feeling it wasn't anything good, it's been a few years since they have started the invasion and in those few years they have accomplished nothing. His fingers shook as he carefully lifted the envelope flip, his eyes couldn't read as the paper shakes in his grasp. He swallows his breath as he puts the paper down so he can read it.
Eyes dart quickly across the paper, sweat seeps down his face from the anxiety. Only to end in a sigh, a sigh of relief. A grin stretches across his face. His plan had been approved. His crackpot idea had actually reached HQ, he hadn't anticipated it. Just a thought he put in his paperwork, half convinced that HQ didn't actually read it anymore. But low and behold the letter spoke for itself.
'Dear Sargent Keroro,
After going over one of your proposals we have come to an agreement that Pekoponians are more valuable as allies then the planet is as a resource. An alliance is within our best interest as they have more physical strength then we do and have shown great strength and leadership that would greatly benefit our empire.
We leave the peace treaty up to you, as per the space treaty tradition, two aliens of both races must be wed to symbolise the foundation of the empire union.'
Keroro might of went a bit overboard with the streamers and balloons and the large banner that said "invasion over" but he didn't care he was very excited to rub it in everyone's face, many had doubted him but he sure showed them!
The doors creaked open as his platoon entered the room they all looked at the sign in disbelief. As Confetti rained down on them.
"Invasion over but how?" Tamama questioned
"Explain Keroro!" Giroro demanded
"The invasion is over see!" he showed the letter only for it to be stolen from his grasp by the Sargent major.
"it's a good thing you said invasion over and not invasion success kukuku, a peace treaty how boring"
"A peace treaty? Are you serious!" Giroro shouted in anger violently shaking keroro "We are going to be the laughing stock of Keron!"
"Keron agreed to it" Keroro defended.
"Who's going to be the poor sap who get's married? Kukuku" Kururu laughed evilly
"Married? What does that have to do with anything" Giroro asked in confusion, snatching the paper from his grasp.
"figures someone like you would skip over peace treaties in the invasion handbook. Someone has to get married for the ally ship to have a starting foundation and the couple become diplomats for their race to the each others planets. It's all very boring"
"Who'd want to get married to a pekopoian?" Tamama asked in slight disgust before he and everyone else looked at Giroro.
"Why are you all looking at me?!"
"you know why kukuku"
"Why should I be the one to get married, I don't even like Pekopon! Why doesn't Keroro marry Fuyuki or something?"
"No!" Tamama shouted and everyone stared awkwardly at him"Because Momo-chi wouldn't like it, Fuyuki is hers" he said in a more lighter tone to try and hide his real reason.
"Yeah I wouldn't want to see Momoka angry she's a scary woman, your the only one who it makes sense, I won't be tied down to some bade, Tamama is too young and Kururu is off the table for obvious reasons. It's got to be you"
"Your serious? I'm a warrior not a lover!"
"Come on Giroro, We are hoping Natsumi will agree to this. Think about it, she's the bride your the groom"
Giroro blushed deeply picturing his beautiful bride before shaking his head fiercely. "No I will not get married for a military order. It seems wrong to give Natsumi the choice of world peace and war for a marriage she wouldn't want" he said stomping out of the room.
"He's right, love is sacred and shouldn't be tool. While I like the idea of peace I don't agree with this method, if Giroro wants to get married he should be able to without being ordered. Think about it, if Natsumi and Giroro get married now Giroro won't be able to say his real feelings cause his marriage would be a sham he and her were forced into." Dororo said appearing next to keroro.
"Ahh when did you get here?" his whole body jumped.
"I've been here the whole time" he said crying.
"I say do it, I find the idea of them being stuck in a loveless marriage hilarious kukuku" Kururu laughed. "plus this is the only possible way Natsumi would say yes."
"That's what I thought, I don't think anyone would willingly marry an alien."
"your idea of love is too shallow, love knows no bounds, being forced into a marriage with someone who doesn't love you back sounds like horrible fate"
"Your a bit of a drama queen" Keroro retorted
"Your so mean" Dororo said feeling even sadder at his friends disrespect.
Giroro sat in his tent to sulk, he felt conflicted over everything. He would finally have a chance to get into a relationship with Natsumi but said relation would be built on a desire to save her planet and not love. He was also a warrior he shouldn't even be falling for the enemy.
Natsumi noticed the little red keronian run out of keroro's room in anger, he didn't even notice her when he ran by. She looked over his tent.
"Hey Red, you okay? What did that stupid frog do this time?" she asked annoyed
"N-natsumi?" he whispered before popping his head out of his tent "I er, nothing just another failed invasion plan, don't worry about it" he said trying to keep his cool, sitting down across from her on his cinder-block.
"Man, I didn't even have a lift a finger to stop you, must have been a really bad plan." she said with a laugh.
"y-yeah"
"What was it? I feel like you've guys have done everything but stealing the kitchen sink." she shook her head "it wasn't to steal the kitchen sink was it?" she said dead serious looking through the screen door for good measure.
"No" he sighed. "Natsumi if you had to get married to save the planet would you?" he bit his tongue, he shouldn't of said that.
"huh? That's an odd question"
"I saw it in a movie the other night, I wanted to know what you would do?" he felt himself sweating as he lied through his teeth.
"I didn't think you were a movie watcher, but it does sound like a weird war movie. Hmm would I get married to save Earth? I think I'd have to it sounds selfish to pick myself over the world, but marring someone I don't like would make it harder. I know I would do it in a heartbeat if it was Saburo" she said with a smile, blushing like mad, Giroros heart sunk he gripped his heart as if he had just been stabbed. "What about you?"
"I feel conflicted, I prefer to fight things out i'm a warrior, I was not trained for peace or marriage"
"that sounds kind of sad, I would prefer peace over war any day, but I will admit you guys have made my life more interesting." a thought suddenly came to her head "Maybe your just scared of things changing you sound like you've been a warrior for awhile"
"I'm not scared, a warrior life is noble, military is the finest profession on Keron"
"That sounds kind of depressing, a life of constant warring what is it all for?" she said with a sigh.
"to prove that we are worthy. You might of noticed but we are rather small, we've always had to fight to survive, we've fought the vipers for centuries and many other races to protect our home. Concurring other planets was just next in our path."
"And your content with this life?"
"Never really had another choice. Military life brings honour to myself and family. My father was a corporal and my brother is a first lieutenant"
"did you ever want to be anything else?"
"uhh" he remembered the trains he obsessed over in his youth he couldn't help but blush at his childish dream "No, i've always wanted to be a solider"
"I can see why you would enjoy it, you've got a fighting spirit."
"Of course, do you enjoy it too? The feeling of letting loose on your enemies, the glory of battle in a fight of skill"
"it does seem like a great stress relief but really unhealthy"
"You could say that about a lot of things"
"That is true" she said with a sigh. "I completely forgot why I came out here?"
"Doesn't matter anymore, sweet potato?" he said handing her a stick.
"Of course!"
"What do you think the best way to break marriage to Natsumi is?" Keroro pondered.
"Pretend Giroro is pregnant and keron law states that he needs to be married or killed" Kururu said not looking up from his laptop.
"...why?" he asked confused after a long awkward pause.
"you asked me a stupid question you got a stupid answer" he said annoyed. "plus I think it'd be funny, if you want a actual answer ask a woman or something. I'm busy"
"Good thinking Kururu" Keroro responded at the thought.
"thanks someone has to"
He walks into the room where mois is "Mois how would you break a marriage proposal to someone?"
"Oh uncle I thought you'd never ask!" she screeched in joy "you could say every girl dreams of the perfect proposal. Un- the man would take her out to eat at a nice place, after the meal take her to the stars where he will destroy a planet in her name and in the firey inferno of the exploding planet he would serenade her and confessed his unending love to her sealing the deal with jewellery and a kiss" she swooned.
"yeah that wouldn't work for Natsumi" he deadpanned
her eyes swelled up with tears "y-you like Natsumi?" she felt betrayed.
"W-what no! This is for the peace treaty remember when we set up the banner and balloons" Keroro didn't question her reaction just chalking it up to Mois not wanting to share his attention with Natsumi.
"oooooh that's what that was for, I didn't know Natsumi's marriage was apart of that, whos she marring?" she changed moods real quick once learning keroro wasn't getting married.
"Giroro, we are hopping Natsumi will agree we are just trying to figure out the best way to break it to her, A way I don't get beaten to a bloody pulp preferably"
"This sounds like a tough one" she said deep in thought.
