Light and Darkness: Fates Collide
AN- This is my first fan fiction. It is the part 1 of the 3 part series, 'Light and Darkness'. There could be some mistakes because of my lack of experience. English isn't my first language either. I hope you enjoy this. XXXX mark denotes a completely different, time, place etc.
This Fan fic has lot of Fakemons and Regions which are going to be explained in the end of Chapter. Hope you enjoy!

"These damned winds! They are too fierce."
"He is where we got that power signal from, isn't it?"
The energy radar showed various small dots including them but it also showed a... massive one that overshadowed theirs.
"We need to call the headquarters for help." The captain of the plane said as he took a glass of water.
"What could possibly release such power..." As he laid his eyes through the window, chills ran through his spine.
A worker in the Plane, tried to communicate through radio but... he was paralyzed as he saw red eyes staring at them or maybe even through them.
The plane had long since become a part of the tornado, engulfed by the overpowering force.
"Hello. This is the headquarters" said the voice coming from opposite side of radio. But all that they could hear was slicing of air, followed by a blast.

"BREAKING NEWS!" the same thing was displayed throughout all the channels in Signetta region. "All of the scouts who were in the vicinity of Alps ranges were annihilated." The day, whole ranger headquarters were panicking. Any person in the region would be scare after seeing the dot on radar. Fear of unknown. Signetta's ties with regions like Azure and Quasar weren't good at all. It wouldn't be a surprise if a war breaks out in few years. It wasn't safest of times.
Pokemon like Metagross and Karero have way smaller energy signals. This one was legendary. But even among those who are above the normal, there are few with such irrationality. There were even rumors that it was biological weapon from a different Zehar.
"Akira! Issac! Your division is assigned to investigate these recent attacks by this cult." A Ranger working for Pokemon Association (Signetta branch) informed two other employees working in crime department of Pokemon Association.
"You got to be kidding me. We just finished our previous mission and are we supposed to go on other? Not to mention we are supposed to find a group his actions make no sense, and have ." Akira complained.
"Aren't you being lazy, oh, what a drag, a single mission and you become this complaining? Please just quit the rangers or your laziness may spread to me." Issac said.
"Jeez, at least have a expression on your face if you are going to attack me like that."
"Ignore him, we are taking this job" Issac continued, "I did my homework unlike you. These guys aren't normal cult. Their pattern of attack is weird. With no particular goal. They are more than surely not mafia group like Team Rocket. The speed they are travelling from place to place is ridiculous. As if they are teleporting. Of course, some of them could be copycat of the group. Or atleast I thought until I looked inside the details. There have been copies, but all the attacks following 'you know what' pattern cannot be faked by some third rate criminal. Last but certainly not the least. Their attacks started becoming more prominent after the Mysterious Being destroyed the Plane which scouts were on. It is almost like they wanted to strike fear in minds of people. Especially since most rangers who faced them got so utterly destroyed that most died and ones who survived were eliminated somehow. But the group members who got captured appeared to commit suicide rather than give away any information. It seems much more like a fanatic obsessed over some deity and committing crimes rather than, 'insert fear into people'."
"Wait a second!" The Ranger exclaimed. "Now that I looked at records, I can say. They did start attacking rapidly after the Beast's attack, without having trouble at all."
"Wasn't that obvious? It was just that we did not give the public statement. Also, saying fanatic cult seems like something to insult them. But they seem intelligent enough to follow the 'you know what' pattern. And some of the other attacks don't seem to be fake either. Their motive is complete mystery, I must say. Don't disappoint us you both. This may well be your hardest challenge. And remember, death isn't un common in this field." The purple haired man commented on Issac analysis.
"I am not just going in without any plan. Some mere cult couldn't possibly beat us." Issac said to him in a respectful manner. He was Issac's senior, and one Signetta's Elite four, Dante.
"Does my opinion not matter?"
"It doesn't. Scram if you want to."
"Oh. Ok then."

(2 days later)
"It's night already. Hmm, We cannot find them if the search goes like this. Especially with this damned storm." Akira sighs, annoyed by this chase which is giving no result.
"Like I said, their attack patterns are mysterious. We are following energy tracks left by them. They have energy barrier by to avoid energy leak, but even then... They still left tracks." Issac explained.
"Do they have some kind of, you know an invisible ship? How can they go to different places in such secrecy?"
"'They'." Issac spoke, "What makes everyone think it is they and not a single person?" [Akira raised his eyebrow as he heard Issac say that]
"We can only guess about these cult. Or maybe even this man. Anyway, we should probably camp for now. Shall we start building the tent?" [Issac nods to Akira]
(Issac and Akira sent, Haxorous and Scizor respectively)
"Okay guys, we are building a tent, so will you guys bring wood so that we can put on fire. Make sure not to damage the forest too much." They both commanded their Pokemon.
"Weavile, will you help too?" Akira asked his Weavile which did not reply, but rather stared at the sky silently. As if it sensed something.
"Gengar, guard the tent for this night. Sorry but you don't need to sleep anyway." Gengar looked at Issac as if it was annoyed narrowing its eyes, but went inside ground to guard the tent anyway.

That night, it was raining fiercely. And Black figure flapping its wings was in skies facing towards another Pokemon. The figure facing the Black Creature looked like a Phoenix, with color complex like rainbow.

"Huff,Huff. Was it a Nightmare?" Issac woke up from his sleep. "Six eyes... What-what was that thing. I am having weird dreams." As Issac wanted to go to sleep again, he heard a voice.
"A tent here? Aren't they daring to think they can protect themselves from wild Pokemon while sleeping." A Male voice was coming from outside. He was dressed in Red with a red hood too. The dress had a N symbol, weirdly shaped. A line extending from the middle of N forms a Circle with an O inside it.
"Yep they are daring indeed. Let's just get free stuff and leave. I don't won't to stay here, in this storm. I wish a Wild Ograss would feed on them." A female dressed in the same way as the other one said. She continued,
"Fletchinder, Aerial ace!"
(As the fiery bird came forward, it started shuddering. An entity sneaked from behind and it was hit with a black ball of energy)
"Those guys are not amateurs!" The male exclaims as he sends his Mighteyana.
(Gengar smiles at them as if it was waiting for this moment. As if it wanted get rid of boredom.)
"Just because it is strong it looks down on us? How well are you going do against a dark type? Where is your confidence?" He said with a lot of confidence.
(Gengar started laughing and glared at them.)
"What! Ovebare! Crunch."
"(A calm voice) Gengar, Use focus blast.(Mighteyana faints)I have seen all types of people but you're just a bad trainer. Who in these days dig their own grave. Hahaha." Issac came out from the tent with a smile.
"I get it. This is where that Gengar's arrogant attitude comes from huh?" The man said smiling. His interior motive was to distract Issac.
"Talonflame, Flare blitz!" The female commanded.
They thought they got him but an Ice shard hit the Talonflame, throwing it on the ground.
"(Howling)Do you know what time it is? You should have at least attacked in morning. I am so tired and in no mood for fighting." Akira says in a taunting manner.
"I did not observe you there, miss. I guess it is too hard to find street rats." Issac insults them even more. A Pokemon battle is not just battle between two Pokemon but rather, its also trainers trying to inflict psychological damage on the opponent.
Trying to call for help she takes out her phone just to be interrupted by Akira.
"Rotom, Block the signals." Akira said cornering their opponents.
"What is that Rotom form?" She asked as Akira replied.
"Rotom can go into any device. When transformed into Pokedex, it learns psyshock and psywave, while also becoming psychic type. Your friend is caught, So are you. Just give up."
"(Seeing towards west) Akira! Fire! I can say it is not just a forest fire but rather a Pokemon attack just like in the other places, where the Cult attacked." Issac said surprised as massive fire and smoke of released from there.
"I have a hunch but I think these two are members of the Cult. The symbol on their dress... It reminds me of something. Rotom thunder wave and keep them bind here. I and Issac will go see the...Wait isn't that supposed to be... a village!" Akira explains, sweating. He remembered seeing a village in the map. In exact same position.
"There is a village in there? We must hurry! Go Staraptor."
"Noivern! Take me near the fire. Issac, hurry."

They flew near the village, which was scorched in flames. As if a massive battle took place here.
"Te-Te-Terrible... I won't forgive them!" Akira said tightening his hand in anger
"If you are so angry, then start helping me to put of the fire. If you have energy left to be angry why not use it for something useful." Issac said in angry voice. But he was calm.
Akira wanted to ask him, how he could be calm about this situation. But he wasn't able to, when he saw Issac's shaking hand.
"Quagsire, try to put out the fire" Akira commands his Quagsire
"Milotic, put off the fire using Surf." Issac says as both Pokemon do their best to follow the commands.
Akira used his Blaziken and Noivern to scout the place while Issac sent out his Haxorous, Luxray, Espeon to search survivors. AFter some time, they were able to put off the fire. But the situation was still bad. Many people and pokemon were hurt.
"So many casualties. If only we arrived a bit earlier." Akira clenched his hand looking around the village.
"And what would we do but die if we arrived a before! Do you think we could stop someone who destroyed an entire village? We should be glad we did not come quicker." Issac said in a frustrated voice.
"I don't care. We should try to do our best. Something is better than nothing." Akira tries to argue,
"Che. Since we both were children, you were so naïve." Issac says in annoyed voice as he went near a old man who was barely standing.
After some more time they were able to rescue everyone alive while also contacting the Association.
"Sir. If you are in the state of explaining to us what happened it will be very helpful in finding those who did this."
"First of all, I want to thank you both for helping us.[*Coughs*]"
"Don't push your self sir. You are the priority."
"As much as we want to tell you we do not know much either."
"It's okay as long as it will help us even a little." Issac said to which Elder replied,
"The two pokemons... If i am correct, they are... Ho-oh and... Lugia. (Akira looked puzzled by those words) Those two fought here." The old man started weating as h remembered the scene.
"But why did those two legendary Pokemon fight? Was that territorial conflict? Lugia also explains the Storm." Akira asked, with puzzled expression.
"That cannot be. Both of them live far away from here." Issac said. He was just as confused as Akira. Legendary Pokemon are incredibly rare sight. Most of the people never even see them.
"That Lugia did not look normal. It was dark emitting abnormal energy. It was like looking at infinite darkness. Glaring at it was... [*Coughs*]"
"Sir, that's enough." Akira said. This sight was painful for outsiders like them. How would people who could have lost their loved ones feel.
"Like infinite darkness, you say..." Issac caught his forehead.
"Dark Legendary Pokemon... We may be facing a truly dangerous existence. Akira, I hope you aren't scared." Issac said thinking about what the old man said. If it was just him, they would think Elder did not see properly. But no person in the village interrupted his statement.
"Sir, Thank you for your help. The authorities will be coming here as soon as possible."
"Thank you. We cannot be more grateful to your help. And also, there was man was wearing black hood, having a symbol on his chest, and mask..." All the villagers waved to the brothers after telling all the information they had.
"Contact us if you observe these types of incidents ever again." Saying that they both left.

The brown haired man listened curiously, about what the brothers reported and replied with a serious face, "Well done, but now that I know the legendary are involved I myself will enter. Authority's can't ignore this incident." Akira sweats, seeing the man's serious face for first time. I mean who is that man? He is none other than Christopher Aron, known to be one of the strongest trainer and Pokemon Association vice-president. Not to forget, he is Signetta's champion.

"Do you think we should retreat now that the Main division of Signetta's branch is taking action." Akira asked Issac on his opinion.
"No way... We wanted to make a... name for our self didn't we?"
"Yeah let's do what we do."
(Ho-oh? Ho-Oh is often connected in legends to immortality. What is that darkness they talked about? What about Lugia?)
"I know what you're thinking. We will only get answers once we reach them. The cult. Do you know the legendary birds? The ice island in the orange archipelago was once upon a time a normal island until Articuno entered. Its power was enough to fill the island with blizzards. That is the power of a legendary Pokemon. Lugia is the master of them."
"And it is some how related to the cult." (Akira sighed wondering their identity.)
"All we know is they have powerful teleporting system."
"A teleporting device that works on a large level. They must have a lot of strong psychics. Lugia could be connected to it. Maybe supplying a huge amount of energy? Them being related is in itself a speculation."
Akira wondered, '(But even then... For a legendary to be involved? What about Ho-Oh. Damn it. Who even are they?)'
"You two, we did no hand you over to police because we wanted to investigate separately." Issac said.
Both of the thugs who attacked them before were tied down the entire night and obviously were irritated.
"As long as you don't answer to the following questions truthfully, Rotom will use its psywaves on your brains and break you twice as much as your team would to the traitors."Issac continues, "The unbearable pain keeps increasing proportionally to the duration"
'Isn't that too much? I feel bad for them...' Akira though but quickly killed any such thought, knowing that they dug their own grave.
"First question, Who are you and why did you attack us?"
"Why did you keep us instead of taking us to Association?" The man shouted in anger to which Issac's Haxorous hit the tree above them with dragon claw as if it was waiting for the opportunity.
Issac glared at them sharply with his eyes obviously saying 'Next time it will be your head'.
"We are just travelling bandits." The man said just for Rotom to shock him. Issac understood that was a lie. "Do you work for those who just attacked the village?" Issac asked. "Umm... Yes, we are related." he said frustrated. The ends of Issac's lips widened hearing what they just said and Rotom not shocking them. Especially since they now knew that it was a group attack. "And where will you attack next?" Issac asked.
"Do what ever you want!" The man shouted to which Haxorous's arm reached their throat.
"I heard something about Hoenn!" The girl said in a scared voice.
"Hoenn? Hoenn what? Hoenn where? Why Hoenn, from Signetta?" Akira asked.
"That information is not a facility that a grunt can get." She answered almost instantly.
"She is saying truth. Let's first inform this to Association." Issac said.
As they moved away for a bit to talk, someone appeared. A Green haired woman reached near the tied grunts and...
"Commander Sathala! Thank you for coming to save us!" The Man exclaimed joyously.
"You think the a high ranked member like me will come to save a grunt?"
"Wait don't tell me!"
(And before they had the time to shout a Grass type Pokemon, a Rilaboom jumped from the tree and baam! They were no longer talking.)
"Giving away information to someone who captured you. Pathetic. And those two are going to face the same end."
"Who are you? And why did you kill them? Weren't they your team?" Akira said, glaring at her, trying to hide his anger.
"A new person to interrogate huh. Well more information is always better." Issac said taunting his opponent.
"Those who are arrogant of their ability are the ones who are easiest to defeat." She smiled. "Well, what a waste of a kinda cute face."
"Let's see about that. Go, Luxray, Wild charge."
Seeing Issac send his Luxray, She used her Cradily to stop the Wild Charge.
"A grass type specia..."
Before Issac finished saying what he wanted to say, a mach punch from Breloom was launched from behind just for his Haxorous to stop it within width of hair but still taking damage.
"Hey girl, Don't forget about me."
"Amoongus, Spore."
"S*it that's not good" Akira seemed to panic.
'Che. He acts like he is panicking but is showing no sign of tension in his eyes. {She looked at back of her} Huh? A Weavile Behind. He thinks he can fool me, but no matter how fast it is, it cannot reach me.'
"Breloom use Mach punch!" She commanded
"Ice shard ( Breloom falls down)"
"But how did your attack land first?!"
"Those who act arrogant fall first don't they?" Akira says with a smile on his face. "Weavile hit Amoongus with Icicle Crash."
"Viiiile" The attack crushed Ammongus causing it fall [faint]. The smile on Weavile's face was just as clear.
"I will finish it quickly! Go Venusaur, Mega evolve!" She tried to act as if she was still having the advantage.
"Mega evolution is pretty rare you know... But you are facing a bad matchup right now. [*smiles*] Blaziken, mega evolve, Blaze kick." Akira commands his Mega-Blaziken to clash with Venusaur."
"(*Smiles*) Leech seed the Blaziken."
"Why did that do nothing?" Akira took out Rotom. "Rotom!"
Rotomdex: Mega Venusaur-ability thick fat. Half's the damage from fire and ice attacks which is why Blaze kick did very less damage.
"Hey , I am going to meet them come back before long." Issac says as if he knew the result of the battle and left.
"It will probably take longer than I thought. Ken, Break free from the seeds."
"You think you're enough? Don't get too cocky brat! Venusaur sludge wave!"
(As the battle continued Blaziken kept up the upper hand due to its speed)
"Why can't I hit it? Why does it keeps getting faster and faster!
"GG, Ken, finish it with Blazing High jump kick!" (Seeing his opponent's confused face Akira continued) "Miss, that's the attack I and Ken practiced. In other words, a move that I created."
(Venusaur fainted)
"How did, I... I lost. No."
"You are arrested for your crimes. Hehehe I always wanted to say that line." Akira giggled.
"How much? (Akira made a confused look.) How much money do you want, so that you can spare me?!"
"Like I said you are not getting away." Akira replied. "Desperation makes people do anything to achieve what they want, huh?"
"Go Tropius, Fly me to any distant place." She was even more desperate, now that it did not work.
"You don't learn do you? Come out, Noivern. Boomburst. And also just in her direction and please don't hurt me like the last time."
Noivern:[smiles] Noi-veeern!( Tropius unable to take the attack falls down)
"Issac would have taken it to unknown lengths, so be happy he isn't here. Now come with me to ranger office." Akira added, "And, what does the symbol on the dress mean."
"A-zoth..."

(After investigation)
"Both Hoenn and Johto after splitting into two divisions... Interesting. I thought they were after Ho-Oh. But why Hoenn? I don't think this is once again related to legendary pokemon. Do-do they really have such power? To go against legendary pokemon." After making his assessment Dante asked the Brothers the above question.
"We can only guess. We should also make two divisions if possible."
"We will proceed as you said. You should go to Hoenn while Akira should go to Johto. And also, Xin feng will accompany you in your journey."
"Aron called me. He also said that he is not taking part in this mission."

"It seems like a human in this fragment has caught your eyes, Master"
"I am just watching the fate of the chosen one through this human. Anyone else in this fragment is none of my interest."
"You may be free, Once in for all. But that is if the chosen man will succeed."
"Arceus, has been careless... Well done, Masseraph."

Signetta region- A region based on Italy.
RotomDex: Karero- Psychic/Fairy. 1.2 meteres. 20-30 kg
Abilities: Magic Guard
Pixilite
Guardian spirit of Forests. It looks like Mangoose with long space-blue hair and pink eyes, white body. They have star like stripes in their hair. It is pseudo legendary of Signetta.
RotomDex: Ograss- Grass/Fairy, 5'11 meter, 150 Kg
Abilities: Intimidate
Quick feet
H.A: Stakeout.
A Ogre pokemon living in forests of Signetta. They are green in color with branches as hair, with yellow and tough claws along with sharp teeth. Travelers fear them because of their occasional rough behavior and Intimidating behavior, but they are quite friendly.
