I decided to do a story based on the new character Rex on the PAW Patrol. I questioned where he came from and how he became paralyzed and had wheels and met up with the dinosaurs. This story is based on how I think it went down for him. I own my own OC's. Enjoy and leave a review on how you liked the chapter.

It was a nice spring night. Kids were fast asleep and ready to play in the morning with all their friends in the neighborhood. One family on the other hand, was very special. They came home with 3 little dogs named Kaz, Rex, and Bailey. Kaz was a beagle with 3 different colors of white, brown, and black fur. Rex was a bernese mountain dog and also had the same as fur colors as Kaz, but most of his fur was black and darker. Bailey was a combination of the 2 breeds beagle and bernese and she looked like her other brother Rex, almost like twins. Kaz being the older one, Bailey being the 2nd oldest, and Rex being the youngest.

The 3 were all related together but sadly their parents named Rowan a Beagle dog breed and Brianna and Bernese dog breed, died protecting them from dangerous people. Rowan worked at a museum with the manager studying dinosaurs while Brianna looked out for her pups. The 3 pups were living on the streets until now.

December 13, 2018...

Kaz would go out and find food for them to eat when they were hungry while Bailey watched over Rex. A family came walking by, by the names of The Don's were on their way to McDonalds. They were a family of 3 and had on winter clothes to keep warm. The dad was named Mark and he works as a producer for rappers or singers. The mom was named Hannah and she was a stayed home mom that takes care of her daughter named Jenny.

When they got to McDonalds Mark ordered a quarter pounder with fries and a Dr. Pepper on the side. Hannah ordered a salad with water on the side because she was on a diet and Jenny begged for a happy meal. Hannah rolled her eyes and went for the happy meal. They soon left with their food in their hands heading towards her car until Jenny heard crying in an alley. She then ran towards the alleyway going to find out who was crying. "JENNY, COME BACK HERE YOUNG LADY!", yelled Mark. Mark and Hannah then went after their daughter.

10 MINUTES BEFORE

Kaz POV…

I ran down the alley with a half eaten steak in my mouth as quickly as I could. The steak was quite big so it will make the best for the 3 of us. In my head I was wondering how Bailey and Rex were doing, me and Bailey could take after ourselves but Rex was still very little and was the youngest of us so we will do everything in our power to protect him. After all, we were the only thing he had left. I got to my little brother and sister with the steak in my mouth and set it on the ground for us to eat. "Oooh, steak fancy", said Bailey. "Yeah, Rex you eat first me and Bailey need to go talk for a bit", I said. "Oh-ok", said Rex, feeling all alone. "Don't worry Rex, we will always be together", said Bailey hugging her little brother. Me and Bailey walked over somewhere Rex could hear the conversation.

"So what are we going to do", asked Bailey. "I found an old abandoned pet store we can go to for a little while...It has food, water, and a nice place to sta-.", I said before getting interrupted. "No, No, Not that Kaz, tomorrow makes 3 months since Mom and Dad passed away…", said Bailey. "Oh…", I said remembering that horrendous night.

End of Kaz POV

Meanwhile, Rex was still eating but he didn't eat too much because his siblings also had to eat, so he decided to save them some food leftover. "Yummy", said the bernese dog. He heard Kaz and Bailey talking so he decided to eavesdrop on their conversation. He always listens to his brother and sister no matter what but something told him to disobey them just this once.

When he got over there, the wonders of his mind that was curiosity turned to regret and painful memories. "We have to watch over him and keep him safe at all times",said Kaz. Suddenly, Kaz and Bailey heard crying and sounded familiar. "Rex?", questioned Bailey. When they turned around they saw their little brother crying uncontrollably. "Whoa, whoa, shhh, shhh, it's ok Rex", said Bailey comforting her little brother. "Why were you crying Rex?", questioned Kaz. Rex looked up at his older siblings still with tears in his eyes. "I-I heard you b-both talking about mo-mom and dad and it's my fault their gone and if I was just to stay put the-they would still be alive!", said Rex holding on to Bailey. "Oh Rex…", said Bailey with tears in her eyes.

Kaz was speechless. He never believed that he was the reason for their parents death. All they can do is comfort him the best way possible. "Hey, look at me...It was NEVER your fault they died Rex, they were just some bad people that wanted to do bad things to them and we don't know why, and you ever feel alone Rex just know that we will never leave you...NEVER",said Kaz rubbing his head.

The words his older brother said to him made the pressure feel a little light on him, but deep deep down Rex still knew he was the reason they died.

When Jenny got there she saw 3 little dogs nearly of the same color all hugging each other. "Look mom puppies", yelled Jenny. Kaz saw her and thought she was a threat to them and he started barking at the girl. "JENNY, GET AWAY FROM THEM!'', yelled Mark. Jenny ignored her dad and reached into her happy meal and pulled out a chicken nugget and laid it on the ground for Kaz to eat. "You hungry little doggie, hear have another", said Jenny, getting another nugget. Kaz sniffed out the chicken nugget and took a small bite of the food, once he realized how good it was he quickly devoured it under a second. "Wow, you must have been hungry", said Jenny. She looked behind him and saw 2 other dogs looking shy.

"Are you guys hungry too", said Jenny reaching for her fries. Bailey and Rex hurried to the fries and ate them. "Mark, these dogs must have been starving, we should take them home and take care of them", said Hannah. "No honey, these dogs probably aren't trained, plus fur gets everywhere", said Mark. "But they seem to like Jenny, look", said Hannah pointing her finger at the girl. Mark looked over and saw the youngest pup licking her face in enjoyment. Mark rolled his eyes and took a deep breath in and exhaled. "Fine, but just for this one night", said Mark.

"Jenny, get the dogs there coming with us",said Hannah. "YES, come on puppies you're staying with me",yelled Jenny. Kaz quickly tugged on Bailey's tail. "OW!, what", said Bailey. "Do you think this is a good idea",said Kaz. "I don't know...but were doing this for Rex. "Ok",said Kaz. Everyone hopped in the car and drove to the pet store and bought 3 dog beds and a bag of dog food and drove home. When they got home the Don's bathed the 3 dogs and fed them again and put their beds out to go to sleep. "Still think this was a bad idea", said Bailey. "Shut it Bailey, you're not always right ya know", said Kaz with a smirk on his face. "Guys go to sleep, I'm tired…",said Rex. "Ok, goodnight guys",said Bailey. "Goodnight", said Kaz and Rex. "Glad to see your feeling better Rex..", said Kaz before falling asleep. What they didn't know was that the dreams that Rex was having weren't pleasant at all. It was a nightmare.
