Rachael's P.O.V

The sound of Thunder rumbled in the background as Rachael began to set up the TV to begin the binge watch of her all favorite show of the her lifetime. The Vampire Diaries. Turning on the TV she quickly got to Netflix and scrolled quickly to find the one show she was all ready for. Once finding the shower she let out a little glee of excitement, It's been a while and she just missed her favorite characters who made her day less complicated, that and she needed something to keep her mind of her current issues that always seemed to play on her mind. Bringing herself back to reality, she clicked on the first episode.

"For over a century, I have lived in secret; hiding in the shadows, alone in the world. Until now. I am a vampire. And this is my story." Stefan Salvatore voice spoke for the intro.

Getting all giddy again seeing when the car that would drive onto scene and how the plot really began. She watched when Damon was laying on the road 'dead'. As she watched how the scene passed it got to the part where Stefan was sitting on the roof of the boarding house. Rachael noticed she hadn't made popcorn, mentally slapping herself for being stupid to forget the one thing to make a good binge. She got up and headed over to where the popcorn was. Once she put the popcorn in the microwave Rachael noticed how it was started to get darker outside due to the storm that had been rolling in. Shrugging it off, she waited for her popcorn to finish and seeing it was almost close to done, Rachael stopped it before it would burn making a horrible smell.

"Did you take the last of the popcorn?" A voice asked from her side. Looking down at her bowl which was suspiciously less than what Rachael had started with.

"No." Rachael responded, even though she knew she was lying through her teeth.

She stared at her sister with eyes that told her that she had not believed a word that Rachael had said. Which was the right way to react in this situation. Rachael is known to not say anything till someone wanted to have popcorn. Only not to find any.

"I hope you poison in your soup." She responds blandly, glaring down at Rachael before looking away muttering in a initiation of what sounded like a argument with herself, "Don't do it Kenzie. Satisfaction isn't worth the jail time."

She suddenly looked up, giving Rachael the stink eye and proceeded to say. "Congratulations sister, you get to live another day."

"Boo. I wanted to be with my beloved Klaus Mikaelson in hell. You always ruin my dreams, Kenzie."

After Rachael glared at her sister with one last look, she swiftly went back over to the couch settling in and was about to un-pause when all of a unexpectedly the power shut off. Swearing could be heard in multiple languages over by the kitchen. Rachael got up from the couch a little worried, tried to feel her surroundings to try to find their room to get her phone. The younger sister also was trying to figure out how to find her phone that was laying some where on the kitchen counter.

Rachael not realizing it had ran right into her sister in the dark. They both soon landed on the ground, Rachael hitting her head on the wall and the younger sister hitting her head roughly against the hard floor knocking them both out completely.

A blinding ray of light developed them. After the light disappeared, both of the girls weren't there.

Someone was trying to shake me awake. I groaned and tried rolling over to put my back to the person trying to forcefully wake me up from my peaceful sleep. As if the person knew this, I felt water being dumped on my head. I shot right up and was about to give my sister Mackenzie a peace of my mind when my eyes widened seeing it wasn't my sister. But Steven McQueen?!

"Morning Rachael, Before you try kill me. Jenna told me I could use any kind of force to wake you up for school." Steven McQueen no... Jeremy said giving me a smug but annoyed look.

"I.. slept through my alarms?" I rasped out thinking it was a dream of some sort.

I turned to see it was already seven-forty-five in the morning. Meaning I'd should probably get up and head to school? I rubbed a hand through my choppy brown hair hair. Whatever dream this I was having its gonna either be a nightmare or something much worse. Jeremy still hadn't left my room, and was staring at me waiting.

"Uh. Tell Aunt Jenna I'll be down in a few seconds." I paused waiting for him to leave the room. I rolled my eyes at him before giving him a serious look. "I promise I won't fall back asleep. Now please leave so I can get dressed." I pleaded at him. He glanced at me suspiciously before finally leaving my room.

Seeing that he left, I got up from the comfy bed and walked over to the mirror. I gaped at my own reflection. I looked a lot different, I had thinner body with long arms, My choppy brown hair was ruffled from sleeping. My eyes caught on to some pictures that laid pinned to my mirror. I looked and was shocked to see myself, with Jeremy, and Elena smiling widely as we sat together on the porch.

"Okay.. that's a bit strange." I muttered.

I checked few other things and noticed a small green diary. Picking it up seeing it had a bookmark on a page. I flipped to it and almost dropped it seeing it was my own hand writing along with other pages filled with my writing.

"Dear Diary, it's been really weird. Since mom and dad died, I have gotten into writing to help me copes, Jeremy has gotten himself in the wrong crowd. Elena hasn't left her room much only to eat and that's hardly ever often. Anyways. Mom and Dad are gone, and I just can't bare this pain of them not being here anymore. But I need to be strong for my baby brother. He needs someone to be there for him. And I attend to for that."

After I finished reading. I closed it quickly and set it back down where I had found it. Not wanting to have Jeremy come back up to see if I was awake I changed into some clothes that seemed adequate and headed down the stairs.

The smell of toast and coffee filled the air along with voices from the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen slowly seeing Elena and Jenna joking around.

"Your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared. Lunch Money?" Jenna spoke looking over at Elena.

I froze. No... that can't be. Where have I heard heard that line before?, It was from that kitchen scene with Elena and Jenna as they talked about how she wasn't really a good cook, and that she wasn't fully prepared for their back to school.

"I'm good." Elena replied before turning her head seeing me in the kitchen's entrance.

Not wanting to her to say anything about the look on my face I quickly walked into the kitchen and grabbed a slice of toast of Jeremy's plate and grabbed some milk out of the fridge. Jeremy glared at me for taking his toast off his plate but I only gave smirk back. That's for waking me up jerk.

"Morning Rachael. Thought you were gonna miss school for sleeping in." Jenna laughed as she looked over at me.

"Well, I'm awake now. Thanks for that by the way." I spoke giving a playful glare over at Jenna.

She only laughed at my morning mood before turning to look back over at Elena. "Anything else? A number two pencil? What am I missing?" Jenna asked again trying to think about what she was missing.

Elena looked over at me before turning to face Jenna. "Don't you have a big presentation today?"

I could see Jenna's mind gears working before she clicked two and two together. "I'm meeting with my thesis advisor at...now. Crap!" Jenna quickly said before setting her cup down and grabbing her keys. She turned to look at Me and Elena with a slight worried look. Elena not wanting to make her- our aunt late. Seeing Jeremy was watching and looked Aunt Jenna.

"Then go. We'll be fine. You okay?" Elena asked our brother with a concerned look.

"Don't start." Was all Jeremy said before getting up and leaving the room.

I watched Elena let out a sigh before walking outside to wait for Bonnie to come pick her up. The sound of the TV made my head turn and I saw the knees was on, Jenna was in a rush forgetting to turn it off. I walked over and was about to when My heart skipped a beat seeing what was in bold letters.

"MISSING PERSONS: BROOKE AND DARREN." The letters on the bottom of the screen spoke showing the picture of the couple.

"Oh no." I mumbled as my eyes widened.

The sound of Elena shouting my name snapped me out of my shock. Turning of the TV I rushed outside my backpack somehow over my shoulder.

In the car Bonnie was telling Elena how her grams thinks she is physic. Not really caring to listen since I've heard it on the TV and already knowing what they would say. I was staring out the window in the back seat. How in the world did I end up here? I was still hoping it was a dream, and that I'd wake up now. I mean I never really wanted to dream about Elena or school. I didn't like either of them. To busy in thought of why I was here that when the car came to a quick stop both Bonnie and Elena breathing heavily.

"What was that?! Oh, my god! Elena, Rachael, or you okay?" Bonnie asked us worriedly looking in between Elena and I.

"It's okay. I'm fine." Elena spoke in a calmed voice.

I inwardly rolled my eyes. Always the calm and naive little.. I stopped myself before going to far with that statement. Since both Bonnie and Elena were looking at me waiting to reply.

"I'm fine. Thanks for asking Bon-Bon." I replied with a grin. I saw Bonnie frown at the nick name I gave her before she turned back to look at Elena.

"It was like a bird or something. It came out of nowhere." Bonnie said with a worried look.

I wasn't really freaked about the bird as much as I was worried about poor Timmy that Damon used to scare them. I mean come on, He was innocent.

"Maybe he was one if those suicide birds? Didn't care and was like 'Oh look a car,' Kinda sounds like like that way to me." I was trying really hard not to laugh and noticed both of them were staring at me like I had grown to heads. Jeez. Can someone not joke around?

"This isn't a time for jokes Rachael." Bonnie looked at me with a firm look.

I put my hands up in surrender and gave up trying to argue about a joke that was clearly funny and perfect for that moment. Elena looked at me with a sigh before turning to look out at the road a head of us.

"Really, I can't be freaked out by cars for the rest of my life." Elena spoke up with her head still looking out at the road.

Bonnie still a little worried about Elena, placed a hand on her arm gently. I already knew what she would say. But I already was interested to see it in person.

"I predict this year is going to be kick ass. And I predict all the sad and dark times are over and you are going to be beyond happy." Bonnie smiled brightly at her friend. Elena laughed while I just watched them talk for a little bit more before we headed on our drive to school.

I turned my head out to face the window again. I noticed that the crow had flown up to a sign as it watched us drive away. I smiled a little. Knowing full well who was watching us through the eyes of the bird.

Once we got to school both Bonnie and Elena left to go do their stuff while I just looked around where I was at. This is the part of the episode I didn't feel like getting involved in, It was a hard to watch seeing Matt still fond over Elena while Bonnie was trying to make Elena not feel as bad. I walked up to them after a while seeing that Matt didn't want to be in the same eye sight of Elena. Not blaming the man, and I'm related to her. I notice Caroline approaches and I give her a small smile. At first I never liked her, but once she was turned in a vampire I loved the way she changed for the better.

"Elena, Rachael. Oh, my god." Caroline spoke looking at us both not knowing what to say right a way, She went up and hugged Elena and then hugged me. I hugged her back slightly awkward not knowing how to react.

"How are you guys? Oh, it's so good to see you both. How is there? Are they good?" Caroline asked Bonnie looking at her.

"Erm. Care. Were right here." I interjected as she looked at me with a little worry in her eyes. Before she could say anything Elena spoke up for herself.

"Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you." Elena gave Caroline a small smile trying to show she was fine.

"Really?" Caroline asked.

"Yes. Much better." Elena nodded her head.
And here I thought she cared about both of our well beings. I noticed that Caroline then looked at me waiting for my answer.

"I'm dealing. It's been hard on us. But we will push through it." I replied feeling that was a better way of saying things than just what Elena said. Caroline gave a sad smile before Turing back to my older sister.

"Oh, you poor thing." Caroline said looking at Elena again with a sad look before hugging us both again. Elena was already getting tired of people feeling sorry for her. So she quickly released from the hug and looked over at me for help.

"Okay, Caroline. We'll see you later" I stated.

Caroline let go of Elena and looked a little upset about leaving, but seeing that she wasn't really helping she backed away and smiled at us one more time.

"Oh! Okay, I'll see you guys later." Caroline replied.

"OK! Bye!" Bonnie said turning back to Elena as Elena spoke her good bye as well. I stared at Elena as did Bonnie waiting for her to say something.

"No comment." Was all Elena said before turning to go to the office.

"I'm not going to say anything." Bonnie said with a look over at me.

I only snickered and they both gave for a look before walking off. Now, to find that little trouble maker of a brother of mine. I wondered around and finally found where all the junkies hung out. I turned a corner and saw Jeremy talking to Vicki with as he handed her some drugs under neath to her.

"Don't take more than two in a six-hour window." Jeremy spoke softly as he handed them to her.
Vicki took the drugs quickly putting them in her pocket. I noticed that Tyler was also approaching and I already knew how this would go down. I quickly caught up so now I was next to my younger brother crossing my arms at Tyler. I knew Jeremy wanted to ask me why I was there but I was already facing the incoming threat. Known as Dick-wood.

"Hey, Vicki. I knew I'd find you here with the crackheads." Tyler joked as he came around her putting a hand on her shoulder.

Vicki only mumbled a little "Hey."

Tyler looked over at her for a second before looking back at Jeremy with a smug look and I knew he was about to do. I glared daggers at him telling him to keep it to himself. But of course he wouldn't.

"Hey, Pete Wentz called. He wants his nail polish back." Tyler smirked as he knew that would get under Jeremy's skin. I felt Jeremy's fist clench as he glared at him. If only looks could kill, now that would scary.

"Pete Wentz, huh? How old school T.R.L. of you. Carson Daly fan?" Jeremy spoke still keeping his fists clenched as he watched Vicki look at Jeremy then at Tyler's reaction which wasn't a good one.

"Okay I think that's enough. Let's go Jer-" I was cut off by the little miss Vicki trying to 'calm' down the situation.

"Oh, Ty, be nice. That's Elena's and Rachael's little brother." Vicki turned herself to face Tyler placing her hand on his chest and a way to make Jeremy jealous knowing this would. I groaned as I sensed Jeremy wasn't happy either.

"I know who he is. I'll still kick his ass." Tyler smugly spoke as he was not looking at Jeremy anymore but at Vicki's lips.

I rolled my eyes and his little threat and walked up them before they could kiss.

"If you ever think to lay a hand on him, Lockwood. I will make sure to send you to your father in pieces." I threatened as I shoved my finger into his chest.
He growled at me, and I already knew that he figured out I wasn't joking around with this. Vicki glared at me before pushing me away. Bitch.. She then turned Tyler's face away and kissed him roughly in front of Us.

"Let's go Jeremy. We wouldn't want to burn our eyes out watching this." I said grabbing his hand and pulling him away.

School was long and too boring to even try to explain. I was sitting in my room back at The Gilbert's home. I should call it since it's not really my home. I was waiting since I didn't feel like going through the whole day of the pilot. I already knew what would happen. I was lazily sitting on the couch watching some supernatural, Don't judge me. It was already in a few seasons. I just needed something to do while I waited for everyone to get home.
Elena already had texted me earlier saying she was going to the Mystic Grill to meet up with a guy she met at the graveyard. I already knew but I played it off and just texted a simple okay have fun. But not too much fun. In the middle an episode of supernatural I noticed the front door open and saw that Jeremy was home.

"How was the grill?" I asked pausing the show so I wouldn't miss anything.
Jeremy looked hurt and above all sad. He really loved Vicki and she was treating him like a puppy and an outlet for drugs and sex. I looked up at him tilting my head to the side like a dog would do if it was curious.

"I don't wanna talk about it." Jeremy grumbled as he plopped down next to me on the couch. I patting his leg.

"That's fine, Wanna watch some supernatural with me?" I grin over at him wanting to do some bonding. Jeremy looked as if he wanted to decline but with a little more begging and my puppy eyes he finally gave in.

After a few hours of watching supernatural, I noticed it was getting late, I turned off the TV wishing Jeremy a goodnight. I headed up the stairs to my room. Today was just a part of the what is really about to happen. Laying down on my bed I sensed as though something was watching me I looked over seeing the crow from earlier. I watched for a few moments. I smiled, a little before setting back down letting sleep take me.

The next morning, I was already walking to my class which was with Elena and Stefan. I didn't want to miss this part. It was the best show down with Stefan and , the one teacher who I didn't give a flying crap about in the show, I was already sitting in the back. Since I didn't want to be the one someone asked a question to. Mr. Tanner walked in and was already starting his lecture.

"Battle of Willow Creek took place right at the end of the war in our very own Mystic Falls. How many casualties resulted in this battle? Ms. Bennett?" Tanner had already called out the first victim. Aka Bonnie.

At first Bonnie thought for a few seconds and was already shaking her head. Not knowing the answer she just kinda guessed.

"Um...a lot? I'm not sure. Like a whole lot."

I chucked slightly and I noticed Stefan heard it. I saw him glance back and I quickly made a small cough to cover it up. I didn't need him to catch on to me. He turned back to the front when Mr. Tanner rolled his eyes and spoke again.

"Cute becomes dumb in an instant, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Donovan? Would you like to take this opportunity to overcome your embedded jock stereotype?" Tanner having enough of one student turned to the next. Matt

Matt at first was just as confused before he shrugged his shoulders in a 'I don't really care' when he was asked the question.

"It's okay, Mr. Tanner, I'm cool with it." Matt responded.

I wasn't laughing since I didn't want to end up being part of this little show off. So I just watched as Mr. Tanner looked around the room and seeing Elena not really saying much spoke to her. Inwardly laughing at the moment.

"Hmm. Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significantly historical events?" Mr. Tanner smirked as he noticed Elena already wasn't ready for this.

"I'm sorry, I-I don't know." Elena honestly spoke as she looked up at the teacher.

Already Mr. Tanner looked tired of making excuses for her. Sighed rubbing a hand over his face, Before he looked up at her.

"I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena. But the personal excuses ended with summer break." Mr. Tanner spoke with annoyance clear in his tone.

Elena looked down as she didn't like feeling that she was not smart enough to answer a simple question she already knew. I already knew what would happen so I just watched as Stefan feeling bad for her. Looked up at Mr. Tanner.

"There were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians.." Stefan spoke up as he put his hands underneath his chin to support his head.

Mr. Tanner looked a little shocked at him knowing the answer, He already knew that the rest of his class knew the answer but, Were all just playing they didn't. Tanner walked a little up to Stefan with a small grin forming on his face.

"That's correct. Mister...?"

I waited watching it like it happened in the show. Damn. Where's the popcorn when I needed it.

"Salvatore." Stefan simply replied as he looked at Tanner.

I was already edging closer to my seat so I could get the full show. Any moment now, both Tanner and Stefan would go at it.

"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" asked. I guess curiosity killed the cat?

"Distant." Stefan replied.

Any moment...

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle." Mr. Tanner replied with a little sass. AHA! there it is.

Stefan shook his head. Already some students were looking at him waiting for the hero hair to say a good and EPIC comeback.

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner." Stefan smirked as he rested his arms behind his head while leaning back in his chair.

Mr. Tanner to miffed to say anything only muttered only that could be heard as a.

"Hmm."

After school Elena and Bonnie headed off for the party, I wanted to go since it was the night Vicki was going to be attacked by a 'animal'. I watched as Caroline got rejected by Stefan, She walked off a little upset at his words. I then saw Stefan walk up to Elena and soon they went off. I really wasn't wanting to be part of all that. So I walked over to where the beer table was. Probably wasn't smart for a sixteen year old. But anyways, I wasn't in a mood to care.

"You know Elena would kill you if she saw you drinking." A voice spoke up as I was just about to take another sip from my beer bottle. I looked up seeing it was Jeremy. He was already looking wanting to go home.

"Good thing I don't care what she thinks. I'm only a year younger. And It's a free country." I replied as I took a longer drink from the bottle. I already felt the burn in my throat.

"Speak of the Devil.." Jeremy mutters as he said I saw Elena walking over to us with not a happy to see us here features. I noticed Stefan was standing a bit behind watching and listening from the distance.

"What hell are you doing here Rach! I thought I told you and Jer to stay home." Elena said crossing her arms, making it look like she is more superior.

I looked around already seeing Jeremy not there only a blinking hair lines. Damn.. Well I guess he wouldn't want to be around her either if she was acting like she was our mom.

"Hmm. I don't recall you saying anything." I tried thinking as if I really cared to remember. I knew she had told us to 'stay home' but both me and Jeremy didn't really care.

"Rachael. I'm tired of you not listening when I ask you to stay home. How many times do I need to say-." Elena was cut off as I saw Stefan coming towards us. Rolling my eyes I thought of the best way to reply.

"Hey. Is everything alright over here?" Stefan said even though I knew he heard all of it.

"Don't worry, Stefan was it? I was just giving Elena a little tip about how to seduce you. You know since she really was a little shy." I smirked seeing both Elena's jaw drop and Stefan holding back a laugh.

I left knowing she was going to go after Jeremy and that would lead to Vicki, then to Damon.. I shook my head out of that. I didn't need that man devil in my life right now. I need to enjoy the time I have till I can leave and find Kenzie.. I wonder... Before I could think to much on it Vicki was brought out and I knew that it was time to leave when Stefan saw through the crowd who it was.

I walked to the car and waited for Elena as she would drive both Jeremy and I home.

Third P.O.V

At the Salvatore Boarding house Stefan rushed not really caring to what his Uncle Zach wanted. As he reached the stairs Zach spoke out concern in his voice.

"What's going on?"

Stefan unsure what to do turned around to Zach with a look of panic and worry across his face.

"Someone else was attacked tonight, Zach, and it wasn't me."

Zach looked at Stefan with shock, But before he could say anything Stefan used his speed to get where his room was. Once he entered he saw the outside balcony door open, There sitting was a black crow. Stefan already feeling he knew who it was.

"Damon."

In a blink A man stood there with a sly smirk as he looked over a Stefan not caring that he was already causing a strain on Stefan.

"Hello, brother." Damon spoke his iconic line knowing the effect it would cause.

Stefan only glowered at his brother not liking how calm he was and the smug smirk didn't help. Taking a big breath he turned to look at his brother.

"Crow's a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan indicated his annoyance.

Damon only smirked wider as he walked into the room slightly. He knew his brother wasn't having any of this. So he decided what more could he do to get under his skin.

"Wait till you see what I can do with the fog." Damon remarked.

Stefan rolled his eyes, not wanting to hear any of his brothers tricks of sass he was already wanting to know why his brother was here. And why now of all things.

"When'd you get here?" He asked keeping it short.

Damon shrugged as he walked over to his brothers desk looking at some things there. He didn't really care to reply right away. As he looked around the room seeing how it hadn't really changed much.

"Well, I couldn't miss your first day at school. Your hair's different. I like it." Damon implied as he eyed his brothers attire.

Stefan wanting to get to the point looked at his brother.

"It's been 15 years, Damon."

Damon rolled his eyes twirling around a little in the room to face his brother with a look that spoke sarcastic and seriousness at the same time.

"Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the nineties. That horrible grunge look? Did not suit you. Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads." Damon rendered as he watched his younger brother's actions.

Stefan only repeated what he wanted to know again.

"Why are you here?" Stefan beyond annoyed now asked.

Damon feigned a look of innocent hurt, as he looked at his brother.

" I miss my little brother." Damon spoke as if he was not lying through his teeth.

Stefan was getting tired of his antics. He looked at his brother with a look knowing full well he was not speaking the full truth.

"You hate small towns. It's boring. There's nothing for you to do." Stefan managed to speak without his emotions getting the better of him yet.

"I've managed to keep myself busy." Damon threw a grin at his brother.

Stefan clenched his fists not wanting to deal with this anymore.

"You know, you left that girl alive tonight. That's very clumsy of you." Stefan advanced trying to see what his brother would say next.

"Ah. That can be a problem...for you." Damon replied catching on to what his brother was doing.

"Why are you here now?" Stefan asked again wanting an answer.

"I could ask you the same question. However, I'm fairly certain your answer can be summed up all into one little word...Elena." Damon smirked seeing his brother tense up at the name.

Damon seeing this started to poke more at his brothers buttons. He stepped closer merely a few feet away.

"She took my breath away. Elena. And that younger girl she was with tonight to. Rachael wasn't it? She's a dead ringer for Katherine. Is it working, Stefan? Being around her, being in her world? Does it make you feel alive?" Damon spoke with a look that anyone would know was a look of trouble.

Rachael's P.O.V

I was sitting at the mystic grill, Watching people enter and leave. I had asked Elena if she could drop me off. I gave her a half lie half truth saying that Caroline needed me to talk about something. Once that was over with, I waited at a booth while I waited for Caroline and Bonnie to enter. They did after only a hour, seeing that Bonnie was asking Caroline if she was sober yet.

After waiting for a while I walked up to them. I noticed Caroline looked awful. I put a hand on her shoulder giving her a comforting squeeze.

"Hey. Care, There are always more fish in the sea. Never really understood how that went." I mumbled knowing that it was just a way to get her to laugh.

She laughed a little as she looked at me with a small grin. Well at least my charms of making people laugh worked. I sat next to her as Bonnie was looking beyond tired.

"Bonnie you should head home. I'll keep an eye on Caroline." I smiled lightly at Bonnie.

At first she looked hesitant before a yawn escaped her mouth. Knowing that, she bid us a goodnight and left the grill. I guess the feeling of being watched made me turn? I tried to think that was probably why. My eyes turned to the far table seeing Damon freaking Salvatore looking at me with a curious look. When I met his eyes I quickly looked away. Caroline looked closed to sober so I knew she would be fine. I didn't want to mess with anything since this his how a sorta bond grows.

"Care, I'm gonna head home. I'll see you in school." I softly said as I gave her a side hug before getting up and leaving.

I arrived home a little later. I walked over to Jeremy's room, knowing he was fast asleep I headed to my room. Not even bothering to change out of my day clothes I fell asleep and let my dreams take me away for the night.

Kenzie's P.O.V

Mackenzie was awoken by the sound of a bored, male voice, asking if she was "Going to sleep the day away." He sounded familiar to her, which was weird because she doesn't know a lot of men. Even if she semi-knew his voice, she still didn't know exactly who he was, or if he was hostile or not.

To try and avoid confrontation, she ever so slowly relaxed her body and evened out her breaths to give off the impression that she was still sleeping.

"I know you're not sleeping,-"

'I wonder what gave it away.' She thought sarcastically, remembering how she screwed up by stiffening when she heard his voice.

"-darling. Your breathing and body are too relaxed for someone who was tense after my question a moment ago." He stated with a tone that was probably questioning her intelligence.

"I'm not one to be awoken by a strange mans' voice and pretend everything's okay," Kenzie started to say, pushing up with her elbows so she was propped up on her- a cushion? Was this a couch? "But then again, I'm also not one for waking up to any male's voice given that I live with two female relatives. Both, of which, seem to not be here."

Her hazel eyes darted around, trying to recognize where she was. But there wasn't a single thing that she could tell was an indicator for where she was, except someone's house.

After she was done familiarizing herself with her not-so-familiar surroundings, her perplexed eyes landed on the person coated in shadows in the corner, the same person who woke her and presumably brought her to the living room.

Silence followed her statement, but she could tell he was smiling. Suddenly, he shifted forward, right into the light from the window beside him, illuminating himself in the sunrays.

"Gotta love dramatically dark corners," He states with a smirk, winking at her. She would have noticed his mystified irises if she wasn't so focused on how adorable that smirk was.

"This is the best lucid dream I've ever had." She remarked, her tone astonished. She trailed his figure up and down and finally landed on his very handsome face. "You cutie."

His smirk left after she said- that. That. He responded, in a lucid dream... come to think of it, she doesn't think that this is a dream. It feels too real, looks too realistic, and- oh God, she can see way too many details about things even her brain couldn't be able to conjure up.

Which means-

"I have to say, I think that is the first time anyone has said that to me. And I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted.
