Third P.O.V.
Rachael had everything set up for a night full of binge watching. All she needed now was some popcorn, knowing she didn't want to delay any longer due to the fact that it was already five-thirty pm. Heading out of her room Rachael headed down the stairs quickly passing by her mom snuggling up with her boyfriend watching a movie that was playing as she passed them to grab the popcorn bag out of the cupboard next to the kitchen.
Once she had the popcorn bag, Rachael headed into the kitchen searching with her eyes till she found where they stored the popcorn bowls. Reaching on her tiptoes she grabbed the smaller metal bowl setting it down on the counter next to the stove, she glanced up to take a glance over at her mom, knowing she should ask if she can have the popcorn in her room; letting out a sigh looked up at her mom.
"Hey, mom. Can I bring this popcorn bowl up, and I promise I'll bring it back down after it's finished." Rachael spoke hopefully as she bounced on her heels waiting for her mom's response.
"Yes, that's fine." Her mom replied before glancing back at the TV.
Nodding her head, Rachael quickly got the popcorn making. As she waited the thoughts of the past week came stumbling over her, from the breakup with her not long relationship with Brandon. To deal with just finishing the last few episodes of the new season of Supernatural, it was hard enough for her to watch it and see her favorite characters go through hell, and in the end they got to see each other once again.
With the breakup, she wasn't really upset about it. It was more of a rush into being together, and with her just turning eighteen back in October; with him being twenty-two and more experienced in things she wasn't exactly ready for. She still felt blindsided by her feelings for a man who put up a facade towards his intentions on wanting more than cuddling. Rachael shivered at the thought of what he had said to her before she broke it off with him, but before she could divulge the timer for the popcorn snapped her out of it.
Grabbing the bag she opened it spilling the contents into the bowl, throwing away into the trash making sure it closed. Before she turned back to head up stairs she quickly ran in front of the screen again to not block anything, as she reached the top of the stairs she quickly headed into her new room she had just moved into. Smiling she plopped herself onto the bigger bed, but not before making sure the popcorn didn't spill all over the bed, Rachael then reached across the small space and hit the unpause for season one of supernatural 'Pilot.' Feeling the sense of giddiness as she was about to see her favorite character who she always related to at some points in her life.
It started like it always did the last three times she re-watched it, in a small town of Kansas where she saw young Dean looking down at his baby brother with his mom touching Sammy's head softly. Rachael continued to watch munching on the popcorn as the scene where it skipped to the yellow eyed demon feeding Sam his blood, like it happened all over again Mary freaked out seeing John was downstairs asleep. Rushing up back into her baby's room to see the yellow eyed demon pin her to the wall with his powers.
"Why did you have to get up? You could've just stayed asleep and you'd still be alive." Rachael muttered under her breath. Even though she knew Mary couldn't hear her it almost seemed like the demon did. He tilted his head facing towards the cameras before disappearing into flames as John had rushed the kids out, as he had come back to try to get Mary.
Not long after the pilot started to begin, Rachael felt a wave of sleepiness wash over her; fighting it away with a shake of her head. It was now the scene where Jess and Sam went to a halloween party, and well all know what happened there. Rachael again waited patiently for the one brother she was excited to see on screen. Where he would say the one line that got her hooked on to the show not even a two years ago. Focusing back onto her small chromebook screen she watched as Sam and Jess were asleep, Sam had woken up to the sound of loud movement.
"Oh Sam, if only you knew who you were going to see. You'd be less defensive." Rachael muttered with a smirk, the popcorn bowl as half eaten leaving with seeds and buttery fingers. Like she expected Dean came out and tackled his brother to the floor leaving Sam breathing heavily, once they finished that he spun around causing Dean to be on the bottom where Sam was just at. Dean not really enjoying his brother being just a bit cocky pushed at Sam's chest causing him to get up off Dean.
The lights flicked on in the room, Jess was wearing her smurfs PJ's causing Dean's eyes to scan her lustfully. In her head Rachael mumbled 'boys..' as his eyes went down to where her flat chest was. "Oh, I love the Smurfs. You know, I gotta tell you. You are completely out of my brother's league." Dean's stupid flirty line made both Sam in the show; while Rachael watching roll her eyes at his brother's poor attempts to flirt with his girlfriend. After a while it got to the point where Dean got serious and looked at his brother, the tension caused even Rachael to shift. Even if she wasn't in the room with them. Jess left after Dean spoke his ionic line that had Rachael hooked over two years ago.
"Dad's on a hunting trip. And he hasn't been home in a few days." Dean's tone was low enough to make Sam understand he wasn't kidding around.
A few moments passed and now Sam and Dean were on a hunt to find the woman they heard on the tape recorder, with Sam promising he'd had to be back first thing Monday. Rachael let out something between a chuckle and a snort. She knew he couldn't predict what was going to happen once he finished this case. Not long after that Rachael began to feel even more tired, stifling out a yawn she laid her head down on the pillow at the end of her bed. She watched as the camera fell down to the gas station, her vision darkened till she felt her eyes close; before she fully fell asleep she heard the music 'Ramblin Man' clearly.
Rachael's P.O.V
'Lord, I was born a ramblin man.'
I let out a small groan not liking how loud the music was. Rolling over I tried to grab my phone that was supposed to be right next to me but only felt the leather seats, feeling a bit disturbed I opened one of my eyes seeing a man sitting at the front with his back to me looking through something that was in his lap. I could somewhat familiarize where I was, but the question that had me stumped is how the hell did I get here? was this a dream where I woke up eventually wishing I could go back.
The sound of a voice snapped me back to where I was. His voice was upbeat and way too excited for this time in the morning. Even if I wasn't really a morning person, I still dislike it; as I pondered on wondering what to do I heard the driver's seat door open and the voice spoke again making me know exactly who that was. I felt the panic and a little excitement kick in, maybe a bit of both.
"Hey!" Dean exclaimed to I would assume if that was Dean, he was talking to Sam. Sam leans out of the car and looks over at his brother. With me still being squished on the floor between their seats, not wanting to be caught right away I would assume Dean was holding something with food in his hands. "You want breakfast?" Dean asked.
From the small crack in the seat between seeing Sam's legs way to close. I was going on a wild guess that he didn't take the offer, a gurgling from my stomach causing what was quite talking to stop. I swore in my head before taking a big breath hoping to stop my breathing; Well I should have said tried. The back seat door opened causing light to flow in. I covered my face not liking the light, but before I could say a thing I was pulled out of the back seat by the back of my shirt by a rough hand. Letting out a yelp trying to use my feet to kick at whoever was holding me. I mean, it was probably the worst idea I thought of. Because soon my back was spun around to the back of the car door while Dean's confused and angered face hovered only inches away from mine, as I guessed Sam was standing only a few inches away looking at me with a frown.
I watched looking from Sam to Dean's face, I was still pinned against the back of the car door forcefully, and I'm not gonna lie; it was starting to hurt. Wincing caused his hands to tighten just a little on both of my wrists. "Where the hell did you come from? You weren't in the back a few hours ago." Dean firmly spoke eyeing me down like prey. As I tried to think of words I looked over to Sam for help, I know Dean isn't one to be so kind to new people. But knowing Sam he wouldn't let his brother harm some girl he pulled out of his car right? my eyes switched over to Sam pleading with my eyes to help me out in some way.
"Dean.. she if she was going to kill us; she would've done it already." Sam spoke slowly looking from his brother to me. His eyes scanned down to
how tight his brother's grip was on my hands. I could tell from the grip on my wrists that Dean was unsure if he should listen to what his brother was insisting. "How the hell did you end up in the backseat of my car, without me seeing?" Dean spoke through clenched teeth as he released a little of his grip off my wrists. I began to think quickly, they wanted answers and the only way for them to believe that I had suddenly just appeared in their backseat. An idea formed in my head, it may have been a stupid plan - but hey, I was on the spot to answer a question I had no clue on how to answer without making myself seem like a crazy woman.
"I know you may not like this answer, but I have no idea how I got in the back of your car. All I know is I went to bed watching a movie, and the next thing I know I'm standing here in front of two men." I paused waiting for their reaction. "After that I have no clue what happened after that." I sighed feeling the weight of stress on my chest. Both of the brothers looked at me with questions and worried glances. I let my eyes go from Sam giving me a look of concern along with questions, I then moved my eyes to the older brother who was staring down at me with a cold stare. Feeling the shivers go down my spine I let out a nervous cough hoping someone would start talking.
"Say that we believe you, What makes you think that'll we'll just leave you here, and go on our merry way." Dean's comment caused me to freeze in place. I mean, I knew Dean didn't exactly trust everyone he met, but what he said still kinda hurt. "Dean. We can't just leave her here. If she has no clue how she ended up here. And once she gets her memories about where she lives then we can drop her off there." Sam spoke calmly as he put a hand on his brother's shoulder. I crossed my fingers hoping Dean wouldn't argue about Sam's logic. At first Dean looked like he wanted to tell Sam off about me even trying to join them, but with a sigh he ran his hands through his brown hair. Which off topic was really sexy, don't come at me, I find this man in front of me very attractive, even if he was just a few seconds ago willing to dump me off. "Fine, but I'm not responsible for her. Got it Sam?" Dean growled out in annoyance as he stepped away from me like I was on fire.
Sam nodded his head, knowing that he didn't want to push his brother more than he had to. I watched as Dean walked back over into the car he got slamming the door behind him, feeling a tad guilty. I looked over at Sam awkwardly rubbing the back of my neck - unsure on where he wanted me to be. "You should probably get in the car, we have a-" He paused wondering if he should spill where they were actually going. "We have to meet up with some a friend from Jericho. Hopefully after we get done there, Myself and Dean can help you find your way back home." Sam finished giving me a small smile probably trying to make me feel better about what had just happened only seconds ago.
"Thanks, I uh. Never got your name. I know Dean since you just mentioned his. But I never got yours. I'm Rachael." I asked while hoping I wasn't coming off as too curious. "Sam, My name's Sam Winchester." I slowly headed to the backseat that was behind Sam, I was still nervous to trust my emotions to sit behind the guy that didn't want nothing to do with me. It didn't take long for Sam to join us and soon they both were arguing about the music selection. "Well, for one, they're cassette tapes. And two." Sam spoke as he held up a tape for every band that he names.
I tried to not let out a laugh as the two brothers argued on what was better, it wasn't a fight between them. More like a little banter about which they think is better, after a few seconds Dean won the little game they played on what music he got to play. I let my eyes look up to see Dean giving a big wide grin to his brother before he turned to look in the rearview mirror at me, not wanting to upset him more than I had already I quickly let my gaze fall to my lap. "Well, house rules, Sammy." Dean spoke as he started up the car, looking
over at his brother again. "Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole." Dean finishes as he drops the Metallic box back into the box of tapes.
Sam looked at his brother with a look of annoyance at the little nickname, scoffing he rolled his eyes and made a look at Dean. "You know, Sammy is a chubby twelve-year-old." Like it happened the four times I watched the show, AC/DC 'Back in Black' begins to play, drowning out whatever other words Sam was about to give his brother. I began to rock my head to the music as Dean pulled out of the gas station, his eyes on the road as he let a smile leak out. "It's Sam, okay?" Sam tried giving his brother an exasperated look.
Dean turned up the music as we began on the road. I could already hear his sassy reply before he even had to say it. "Sorry, I can't hear you, the music's too loud." Dean cocked his head to the side as he saw Sam roll his eyes. Feeling of the morning event's start to seep in, I could already feel the eyelids of my eyes becoming heavier as I looked out the window. If I knew that waking up in the backseat of a Dean's car would almost lead to me being left behind because of his uncertainty about me, then I wouldn't have asked for that. I mean hell this is a life anyone would want to be in, knowing that I still had a long day ahead of me, I tilted my head to rest against the window.
(Third P.O.V)
As they drove, Dean couldn't fight the feeling that allowing that strange woman to come along with them was the best move. When he first saw her, it didn't seem all too real, like why would she be in the back seat of his car? but then again with all the girls he's been with it didn't surprise him right away. But then remembering he just picked Sam up the night before, recalling his memory that she wasn't there that night.
Back in black
I hit the sack
I've been too long
I'm glad to be back
Yes I'm let loose
The music played in the background as they drove past the sign saying 'JERICHO 7'. Dean played with his fingers on the steering wheel keeping with the beat of the song, every once and a while his gaze would wander up to the sleeping girl in the back. Her long brown hair laid in her face as she slept head tilted to the window for comfort. His memory went back to that morning where he had gripped her wrists to the car while pinning her on how the hell she got in his car. The look in her eyes when she looked from him back to Sam, told him exactly how she was scared and hoping for his brother to help. Almost like she knew him.
"Thank you." Sam finished his phone call clicking his phone shut. Dean quickly took his eyes away from the sleeping girl as she looked over at his brother who had worry etched onto his face. If he wasn't so focused on the fact he was the one who made this girl come with them in the first place, the whole reason he was headed on this case was to find his dad and not pick up strays along this hunt. They were approaching the crime scene where the latest victim had suddenly vanished leaving nobody just air. As they approached he could hear Sam listing off the last hospital he called searching for their dad.
"All right. So, there's no one matching Dad at the hospital or morgue." Sam spoke out as he looked outside his window seeing they were getting closer, Sam let out a sigh as he didn't get a reply from his brother. "So that's something, I guess." He muttered. Dean glances over at Sam, then back at the road. At a bridge ahead of them, there are two police cars and several officers. "Check it out." Dean said as he pointed at the crime scene ahead. Sam leaned forward seeing the crime scene, having a frown on his face at how weird it looked.
Dean pulls over. They take a long look before Dean turns off the engine. Kid Gloves Music's "My Cheatin' Ways" begins to play. Dean opens the glove compartment and pulls out a box full of ID cards with his and John's faces; visible ones include FBI and DEA. He picks one out and grins at Sam, who stares. "Let's go." Dean spoke as he got out of the car and started to make his way over where the cops were. Sam stared after his brother with an annoyed look on his features, but before he could get far he looked back seeing Rachael was still asleep. Knowing he would feel bad for leaving her without telling where they would be, he nudged her shoulder gently hoping she wouldn't freak out on seeing him. "Hey. Rachael, wake up."
Sam quietly said hoping she would wake up. He got a few grunts in response. "We'll be right back. If you wake up and don't see us. Don't panic." He paused as he looked up seeing his brother waiting for him. Seeing that she wasn't going to wake up, he quickly grabbed his ID from the box and headed after Dean to the crime scene. As they walked up the bridge the lead Deputy leans over the railing to yell down to two men in wetsuits who were poking around the river. "You guys find anything?" Jaffe asked hoping he would get a good response. Sadly his hopes were dashed when one of the men yelled back. "No! Nothing!"
Jaffe turns back to the car in the middle of the bridge. It's familiar: it's Troy's, the blood gone. Another Deputy, Deputy Hein, is at the driver's side looking around inside the car. "No sign of struggle, no footprints, no fingerprints. Spotless. It's almost too clean." Hein said with his voice heavy
with concern. Sam and Dean walk up to the crime scene like they belonged there. Knowing what they needed to do they got right to business.
(A/N: Yes I skipped this part because I was really wanting to get to the main part. I'm sorry if some of you guys wanted that action, It's just a lot to write.)
Rachael's P.O.V
I woke up grumbling. Thinking I was probably in a dream state I blinked a few times thinking about how what I 'dreamt' about was pretty awesome, but once I started to wake up a little bit I knew right away it wasn't a dream world at all. I was in the back seat of Winchesters car, and somehow ended up in the pilot episode where the two brothers are on a mission to find their dad. "Oh no." I mumbled, rubbing a hand down my face. Speak the devil's names and here they came, both the brothers had just nodded their heads to the two FBI agents who they impersonated and headed back to their car.
They both get into the car talking about what they had just learned. I kept quiet hoping to listen in but not look like I was at the same time. Dean stopped talking and turned his head to look back at me. "Look who's awake." Dean mumbled, turning back to start the car and head into town where he would talk to the dead guy's girlfriend. We parked near the theater, I could tell Dean was already annoyed with me still being there. I tried getting out of the car to go with them, but he locked the car before I could even open the door.
"Really? I've been in here for hours, I need to stretch my legs!" I complained while I banged my fist on the glass. "No can do princess, until I can trust you, you're staying in the car." Dean spoke with clear amusement with my distress. I groaned feeling that he really just didn't want me in the way of the mission. Knowing my best option was to guilt party the younger brother, my eyes wandered over to where Sam was trying to keep a poker face on - Only he really couldn't keep it if he saw my eyes that were now looking saddened from being in this car for too damn long.
"Er.. Dean, She probably won't cause any issues. I'll make sure to keep an eye on her. Plus she's been trapped in that car for a while.." Sam tried as he gave his brother a puppy head tilt look. Dean gave his brother a frustrated glare knowing Sam was right, with an unhappy sigh Dean unlocked the door. Feeling I won this round I quickly got out of the car before Dean could change his mind, but before I could walk further than a few steps he got considerably close to me with a threatening demeanor.
"If you do anything, just know your ass will be back in the car before you can say, anything. Understood?" Dean's voice got heavily dark as he gave me a glare to scare any kind of normal person. "mmh. Understood." I gulped but not from being scared, but on how close he was. Yes, I was a girl who had the man she fell for in front of her being really frightening and yet so hot.
Dean squinted his eyes at me making sure I got the point. I looked down at my feet hoping we could just get on with catching up with Amy. Seeing that I understood Dean started to walk up on the sidewalk followed by me and Sam, as we walked I could the young woman putting up missing posters for her missing boyfriend. "I bet that's her." Dean pointed out to the girl where his eyes seemed to glaze over for a second.
I rolled my eyes at the sight, any girl who wore an attractive outfit and had boobs, I guess must've made me really think he wasn't thinking with his brain instead down with his pants. Letting out a sigh I heard Sam agree with his brother as we walked up to where Amy and her friend were. "You must be Amy." Dean asked, giving her a small flirty smile.
Amy turned around a little spooked seeing two men and a girl behind her all of a sudden. I held back a chuckle as she regained her composure and looked between us. "Yeah."
I already could see Dean coming up with the lie he would tell her so they could talk further about Troy. I let my eyes wander to him, he was perfect in his own way. He began to explain how they knew Troy and that Troy would tell them all about Amy. I tried my best to not laugh as his lies were so easy to spot if you didn't notice. We began to walk down the street still talking to Amy, I kept quiet not really wanting to get another glare from Dean. He already caught me staring at him but didn't say anything about it - which seemed quite odd, I shrugged it off thinking he just didn't want to tell me right out to stop.
Amy's friend Rachel, I know such a weird coincidence came up asking if she was okay. Seeing that her friend was in the company of two older men and a young girl, it did kinda look suspicious not gonna lie about that. Eventually we found ourselves in a little diner. Seeing that I wasn't going to fit in the booth I was about to grab a chair from a nearby table but a hand stopped me from grabbing it. I looked up seeing Dean's hand stopping me from pulling out the chair. "I won't be able to fit in the booth with all of you." I mumbled not knowing why my voice seemed so shy.
Dean gave me a side look before pointing towards the booth that was bigger than the one I saw in the show. Letting out a sigh I let go of the chair and walked over sitting in the middle between Sam and Dean. Of course I was more close to one than the other, making it a little squished in the booth. "I was on the phone with Troy. He was driving home. He said he would call me right back, and...he never did." Amy began her story of her last conversation with her boyfriend.
With the space between me and the brothers all I could focus on was trying to keep my breathing normal. Yes, I was being a bit dramatic, it wasn't that bad being between two hot brothers. Noo, just the fact I found the one who was the closest to me very attractive. I was saved from my hot thoughts when Sam spoke up. "He didn't say anything strange, or out of the ordinary?" Sam asked trying to not squish me as he moved to face Amy.
Amy shook her head, a look of sadness on her face. "No. Nothing I can remember."
I wanted to get a word in since I've been the only one who hasn't spoken much since we arrived. Remembering this part in the episode my eyes glanced down at her necklace that was a pentagram in a circle. "I like your necklace. It's pretty." I commented pointing at her neck. A nudge from Dean underneath the table made me smirk. He didn't want me to speak at all and I just broke the one rule he had me promise that I wouldn't do. Amy, not seeing what he did smiled as she held the necklace in her hand.
"Troy gave it to me. Mostly to scare my parents—" Amy laughed slightly at the memory. "—with all that devil stuff." Sam laughs a little and looks down, then up. I could see Dean's head look over at his brother and myself. "Actually, it means just the opposite. A pentagram is protection against evil. Really powerful. I mean, if you believe in that kind of thing." Sam explains giving her a small smile.
I felt Dean roll his eyes as his brother was being a big nerd at the moment, I bit my tongue from trying to laugh at his childish act. Amy didn't seem to notice as she gave a small smile to Sam's explanation. I noticed earlier that Dean had his arm behind me and was barely reaching behind Sam's shoulders. "Okay. Thank you, Unsolved Mysteries." Dean said with an annoyed chuckle.
Dean removes his arm from the back of the seat and leans forward, I could tell he was becoming very serious by the look on his face and the way he placed his hands underneath his chin. "Here's the deal, ladies. The way Troy disappeared, something's not right. So if you've heard anything..." Dean started slowly as he looked from Rachel to Amy. Both the girls looked from each other back to Dean with a knowing look.
"What is it?" I asked again. Dean gave me a look before turning back to face the girls who looked a little unsure if that should tell us. "Well, it's just... I mean, with all these guys going missing, people talk." Rachel started slowly not sure if she should speak further on the topic.
At the same time both Sam and Dean say at the same time. "What do they talk about?"
Rachel gave a shrug as she looked around before turning to face the boys in a low whisper, seeing that it was probably just a rumour, and not wanting others to know it was her that said something about it. "It's kind of this local legend. This one girl? She got murdered out on Centennial, like decades ago." Rachel stated watching the boys look at her waiting for her to continue.
Dean gives a look at Sam, who watches Rachel attentively, nodding. Knowing this conversation goes I tuned most of it out, as they talked a little more about it I would sometimes chip in a few words, just to get a stomp on my foot from Dean. Once Rachel finished both the brothers gave each other looks before getting up, Dean pulled me along with them to the library.
Dean wasn't having much luck as he was looking up research on the computer. I had to hold in a few laughs seeing how frustrated he'd get if the search he looked up didn't load correctly, don't get me wrong I tried to 'assist' but Dean firmly said. "I got this, I don't need your help." His words on point. I did take a little offense, seeing I was really good with electronics back in my world. Finally Sam had enough and tried shoved Dean over so he could help. "Let me try." Sam argued as he tried to help but Dean smacked Sam's hand away from the keyboard.
"I got it." Dean grumbled trying again only to fail once again. Sam having enough of Dean being stubborn shoved his chair away causing Dean to give his brother a death glare. I held my chuckles in seeing that Dean was way too stubborn for his own good, and having a nerd brother didn't help him feeling like he wasn't smart enough to look up the correct information. "Dude!" Dean exclaimed to his brother.
Not paying attention to his brother's annoyed state, Dean not liking it slaps his brother on the shoulder causing Sam to give him an irritated eye roll. I was getting bored with their little banter so I decided to sit by the books and look like I was interested but really I needed to keep my thoughts off him.
I must've dozed off because suddenly I felt someone shake my shoulders. My eyes flew open quickly and turned to see Dean looking at me, I couldn't tell his expression since he was really good at keeping his poker face. "We are going to the bridge where this lady was killed. Make sure to stick by either me or Sam when we get there?" Dean's voice held some mixed emotion I couldn't place. "Yeah, I got it."
It didn't take us long to get to the Slavina bridge, seeing this is how it exactly happened in the show I felt an overwhelming fear knowing exactly what's going to happen to boys and now me. Dean parked the car near the entrance of the bridge, I was walking behind the brothers not wanting to get involved with their small argument knowing that in a few minutes the lady who is haunting this will take over Dean's car and cause the boys and now me to run for our lives away from the ghost car. I let out a sigh feeling the shiver of the cold wind up my back.
Dean walked ahead a little of Sam, jogging over to the side of the bridge where Constance took her own life by jumping into the cold water below. I was just a few feet behind as Sam stood next to Dean as he looked over the edge looking down at the cold river. "So this is where Constance took the swan dive." Dean said as he turned away from looking over at the jump off.
I looked away from the cold river, my eyes scanned meeting Sam's face where he looked in a moment of realization dawning on his face. Inwardly I felt bad for him, the only reason he agreed to come with Dean was to help find John, but seeing that this case had no signs of him yet, I could see the irritation building up behind his soft structure. I walked over putting a hand on his shoulder patting it softly, I could feel a pair of green eyes on me. "So you think Dad would have been here?" Sam questioned looking over at his brother on frown forming on his facial expression.
I let my hand off of Sam's shoulder awkwardly looking away from, shoving my hands back into my pockets. The tension was starting by that simple question causing Dean to put on a stoic face as he thought of a reply. "Well, he's chasing the same story and we're chasing him." Dean paused as he looked over at me, not saying anything else he began to walk further down the bridge with Sam on his heels. I tried my best to keep up with their long legs and my somewhat five foot-ten figure could manage.
"Okay, so now what?" Sam's irritation was showing as he clenched his fists at his side. Not wanting to say anything to piss off either, I kept quiet. "Now we keep digging until we find him. Might take a while." Dean spoke back as he continued walking not seeing Sam had suddenly stopped causing me to accidentally bump into his back. He turned to look at me for a second, probably just realizing I was there. "Dean, I told you, I've gotta get back by Monday—" Sam tried saying before he was cut off by his brother turning around to face him with an annoyed look on his hot features. "Monday. Right. The interview." Dean said, rolling his eyes.
I waited knowing this conversation was already leading into an argument for both of them to explode at. Not really wanting to listen in, I turned around looking back and Dean's car. I watched it in a daze not knowing I'd see the lady on the bridge suddenly appear by his car give me a cold stare. I tried moving my feet but I couldn't move, fear had stricken me causing me to watch as the boys suddenly shouted out as they saw her where she had jumped, she leaned over and let herself fall. Both of the boys, not seeing my state of fear run to see where Constance landed.
"Where'd she go?" Dean asked looking over the railing with Sam trying to see where she had gone. "I don't know." Sam replied back trying to search for her too. Not wanting to be caught in the middle of being squashed by Dean's beautiful car, turning my head to look at the boys I barely could speak from how scared I was. "D-Dean.. You're car." I whimpered as both he and Sam soon whipped around seeing the car's headlights were on and just waiting there.
"What the—" Dean was shocked to finish his sentence.Sam's head turned to look at his brother with a growing worried look forming on his face. "Who's driving your car?" Dean pulls out the keys of his pocket and jingles them. Sam's expression changed seeing them, The car suddenly jerks into motion heading straight for them. Both of the boys turn and run, not wanting to be run over either. I run as well, all of us running as fast as we can. As I was running I heard Sam shout.
"Dean? Rachael? Go! Go!" The car is moving faster than we were; when it gets too close I can see both Dean and Sam making to jump over the railing. I jumped right after them hoping I could grab the edge of the railing but missed and I fell into the stinky cold water. Last I saw was the car come to a halt before everything goes dark.
I woke up feeling a warm presence above me, forcing my eyes to open up. I peeled them open to see Sam hanging onto the rail shouting down to us. My body ached from the jump, but happy I didn't have any other injuries, well hoping I didn't have any. "Dean? Dean!" Sam shouted down to his brother not seeing me in the dark right away.
I heard someone grunt besides me causing my eyes to widen, more awake now I pushed myself up out of the filthy water seeing I was helped most of the way out of it. I scanned to my left; seeing a filthy and annoyed looking Dean Winchester as he crawled out of the water and onto the mud next to me, panting heavily. "What?" Dean asked looking up to his brother who was looking down at him, and now me with a concerned look on his face. "Hey! Are you guys alright?" Sam asked as he was still clinging onto the bridge.
I held up a small thumbs up, and could feel Dean making an A-OK sign with his hands that were covered with mud. "I'm super." Dean said with an irritation in his voice, as he turned to look at me with a concerned look. "Are you ok, that jump was nasty." He said pointing to my filth covered clothes and face. I rolled my eyes getting up from the ground, Dean looked up at me with an unreadable look. Before he held out his hand for me to help him up. I let out a small chuckle and made it seem like I was going to reach out my hand to help him. Just as he was about to grab it I pulled it back causing his hand to land back on the mud splashing his face more.
"I'm fine, thanks for asking." I replied, giving him a smirk before walking away hearing him grunt curses under his breath as I headed back up to where Sam and the car were. Back at the car I was leaning against the car, my back facing Dean and Sam. I could hear Dean grunt something under his breath before he shut the hood and leaned on it. I could see the tension in his shoulders from where I had my back against the back door, this case was just putting his patience for Constance over the edge for touching his baby. I bit my bottom lip from laughing at the situation that he was in.
"Your car is all right?" Sam asked as he walked up to where Dean was leaning against the hood. "Yeah, whatever she did to it, seems all right now. That Constance chick, what a bitch!" Dean shouted out to the air knowing the ghost was far gone by now. This time I couldn't hold in the laugh and I let it lose. "You weren't much help either Princess. Even when I pulled you to shore with me." Dean stated as he gave me a piercing glare over his shoulder.
"And I appreciate you dragging me out of the muddy river, but that doesn't mean you can't pull your young ass off the muddy ground." I commented, turning my neck to give him the icy glare back. Before Dean could say anything else, Sam put his hands up for both of us to shut up. I could see that Dean didn't like it, I gave Sam a smirk thanking for his input. He just shook his head before coming up to his brother with crossed arms.
"Well, she doesn't want us digging around, that's for sure. So where's the job going from here, genius?" Sam jested as he settled himself next to Dean. Not liking how he was being ganged up on, Dean threw his hands up in frustration, then flicked his hands to get the mud off his hands. Sam sniffs, before turning to look at Dean. "You smell like a toilet." Sam said, making a disgusted face. I looked over at Dean as he looked down at himself seeing what he had a point.
We arrived at the motel checking in tonight, I could tell that this was the same hotel that would be where Sam and Dean would find out their father stayed in while he was in town. Dean walked in first holding the door open for me, I gave him a thanks before stepping into the small check in counter. Sam came in behind Dean. "One room, please." Dean asked the clerk standing in his filthy muddy clothes with Sam and I behind him.
The clerk looked up lazily seeing the two out of three people in our group were covered in mud and stinking up the place. I noticed Dean had handed the clerk a credit card from someone I couldn't remember the name on. I could tell the clerk was also looking at the card in his hand with a suspicious look. "You guys having a reunion or something?" The Clerk asked after handing the card back to Dean who swiftly put it back into his pocket.
Sam's face expression changed at the mention and looked over at the clerk with a curious change in his expression. "What do you mean?" Sam questioned with a tilt of his head. The clerk shrugged as he went back to his computer looking through his latest customers he had in. Not liking how the dirt was starting to itch I began to tap my foot on the floor. "I had another guy, Burt Aframian. He came and bought out a room for the whole month." The clerk replied with a simple shrug as he looked up at the boys. Dean looked back at Sam with a knowing look. I already wanted to get out of the small room I headed back outside.
The motel door swings open. Sam is on the other side, having just picked the lock. Sam hides the picks and stands up. Dean and I are just outside, playing lookout, until Sam reaches out of the room to grab both of us by the shoulders and yank us inside. Sam closes the door behind us. We all took a look around—every vertical surface has papers pinned to it: maps, newspaper clippings, pictures, notes. There are books on the desk and assorted junk on the floor and bed, including something with a hazardous-materials symbol. I walked around the room trying to keep my distance away from the boys, not wanting to give away that I already knew.
"Whoa." Sam mumbles as they begin to search around the room. Dean turns on the light by the bed and picks up a half-eaten hamburger sitting there. I nearly gagged at the sight of him wanting to try and eat that thing, I noticed Sam step over a salt line on the door being careful with his footing. Glancing back over at Dean I could see him sniff the burger and recoils at the smell. "I don't think he's been here for a couple days at least." Dean muttered, setting the hamburger down where he found it. I could see he really regretted it.
"You know, if you were hungry. We could've stopped somewhere to eat." I said pointing at the disgusting burger that he sat down. Dean gave me a pointed glare, I knew he was trying his best to track down John, and it probably didn't help with that snarky comment I made, but I honestly was trying to relieve the tension that had started to form in the room. I glanced over at Sam seeing him run a finger through the salt on the floor and look up at Dean. Not wanting to ask more questions, or give away anything. I excused myself to take a shower. Neither of them seemed to care as I walked past them towards the bathroom.
Once I entered I could hear them talking more freely about what they needed to say, looking over at the shower I could already feel the warm water cleaning all the filth away. Letting out a sigh of relief I quickly undressed and turned the shower on, checking to see it was warm enough I climbed in washing my hair and body of all the mud that was there. Taking only a few minutes I finished up and wrapped a towel around my body knowing I'd need to ask one of them for a pair of clothes. On cue, I heard a knock on the door.
"Come on. I need a shower too, you know." Dean's annoyed voice from the door caused me to jump. I was worried it was him who was going to knock on the door. "One second Dean." I said through the door as I tied the towl tighter around my body, making sure it wouldn't fall. Then I walked over to where my dirty clothes were, I sadly knew that I wouldn't be able to wear them till they got washed. I sighed knowing I would need to ask Dean for an extra pair of clothes. Clutching the towel with one hand and holding my other clothes in the other I opened the door seeing an impatient man standing at the door.
I watched Dean's expression change as his eyes scanned my toweled body. My face was already pink from embarrassment, I mumbled out that I needed some clothes. "What was that? Sorry, I didn't hear you." Dean's smirk caused me to anger knowing he heard exactly what I said. "I said. I need to borrow some clothes, Please." I asked confidently, trying to keep my voice from stuttering.
Dean smirk fell slightly, I could feel the tension between us become less as he gave me a true look over before nodding his head over to his bag of clothes he had on the bed. "Yeah, sorry. I got some over here on the bed, I'll grab them." Dean walked over to the bed and picked out a pair of long sleeve red flannel, along with a pair of jeans. "I know the jeans may not really fit. But that's what I got till we go shopping for you." He said with a slight smile rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Thank you Dean. I appreciate it." I gave him a reassuring smile before heading back into the bathroom changing quickly into the new outfit. After I finished putting the outfit on I opened the bathroom door again, walking out giving Dean a thumbs up. He nodded his head before walking into the bathroom closing the door behind him. I sauntered over to where Sam was sitting on the other side of the bed holding a picture of him and his dad with Dean. I didn't want to intrude and ask questions about who they were. Even though I knew, the day's events were finally taking its effects on me, letting out a yawn I laid down on the bed letting sleep take over me.
I woke up a little later to hearing Sam listening to his voicemails on his phone. I groaned not liking the little sleep I got, my body was still pretty sore from the events of the night before. I rolled over and saw Dean had finally got cleaned up, slinging his big leather jacket coat over his shoulders. I'm not going to deny he looked really good after his cleanup. Dean felt my eyes on him and he turned his head to look over at me half asleep on the bed. He grinned seeing how I was eyeing him up like candy.
"Enjoying the view princess?" He chuckled causing my cheeks to heat up. "No. I was enjoying the view behind you." I mumbled putting my head into the pillow. Dean only laughed as he walked past the bed to the door looking over his shoulder at Sam. I could see he was worried about how much Sam was listening to the voicemails from his girlfriend on there. "Hey, man. I'm starving, I'm gonna grab a little something to eat in that diner down the street. Do you guys want anything?" Dean asked first, looking at his brother and then to me laying with a pillow over my face. "No."
"I'd like something, since Sam here isn't feeling hungry." I chipped in hoping he'd be nice enough to allow me something. Dean sighed seeing Sam's reply to his food suggestion, he turned to glance at me with an eyebrow raised. I gave him a 'I'm hungry, you offered look.' He shook his head slightly hiding the smile that started to form on his lips. "Aframian's buying." Dean tried to offer again but his brother only shook his head.
"I'd like some apple pie if they have any." I suggested trying to get something. Dean let out another heavy sigh before heading out to the parking lot where he would soon be taken into custody. I walked over to the window seeing the whole scene go down, I chuckled seeing the scene where the officer asks him questions, all of a sudden Sam tapped on my shoulder with a worried look on his face. "We gotta go, follow me." He spoke quickly before heading to the bathroom where the window was already open. I followed behind as quietly as I could knowing how this certain scene would go down. I followed him till we reached where Dean's car was. Once we got into the car I could tell Sam was tense from earlier, I looked over at him with a small smile.
"He's gonna be fine, your brother isn't always smart, but he will get out." I said hoping it wasn't sounding like I was sounding reassuring instead of being weird and knowing too much. Sam just nodded his head, I could tell he wasn't going to say much with how his attention was to the place he was going to get answers from. It didn't take long as we soon pulled up to Welch's house. "I'll be right back. Wait here." Sam said before getting out of the car and heading up to the chain link house to talk to Constance's husband.
(A/N: I again skipped this part since I really want to get to the main reason for this chapter :) I'm sorry if you wanted to see it)
It was dark by the time Dean had finally called Sam. I was slowly falling asleep with my head leant against the window, the talk with Constance's husband turned into more clues to how Sam could get rid of her. "Fake 911 phone call? Sammy, I don't know, that's pretty illegal." Dean said with a chuckle. I wanted to get my point in so I commented. "I was the one who faked it, Sam just helped alongside." I giggled seeing Sam give me a playful glare. "You're welcome." Sam stated with a grin and an eye roll at my manner of getting away with saying it was my idea.
"Listen, we gotta talk." Dean said, suddenly becoming serious by his tone. I watched as Sam nodded and looked over at me with a simple look that I would've taken as a 'don't say anything till I say it.' "Tell me about it. So the husband was unfaithful. We are dealing with a woman in white. And she's buried behind her old house, so that should have been Dad's next stop." Sam started right off the bat. Dean let out an annoyed sigh, I could see that what his dad left in the journal he saw at the jail had him extremely upset, and he probably didn't like the fact Sam had new information and was being all nerdy about it.
"Sammy, would you shut up for a second?" Dean's said irritation in his voice as he was trying to tell Sam about their father. But of course Sam didn't heed to his brother's first warning and still continued to talk. "I just can't figure out why Dad hasn't destroyed the corpse yet." Sam was not becoming irritated by their father's lack of planning on this hunt. I began to tune out their conversation, not really wanting to hear much of Dean and Sam's argument anyways. As I turned to look up in the mirror I nearly choked on my voice as I was about to warn Sam. Luckily he looked up at the last moment and saw Constance, his eyes going wide as he slammed his foot on the break causing me to yank forward nearly choking on my seatbelt. "Sam? Rachael? Sam! Rachael!" Dean's voice shouted from the otherside of the phone. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears as Constance gave a low glare to Sam. "Take me home."
"Take me home!" Constance yelled more angrily. I winced not liking where this decision will lead to. Sam gave a quick glance over to my direction before looking into the mirror at Constance. "No." Sam's simple comeback didn't go well with her. Constance glared and the doors locked themselves. Sam and I struggled to reopen them. Then all of a sudden the gas pedal pressed down and the car began to drive itself. Sam tries to grab it and steer, but Constance wasn't allowing that to happen. Sam let out an annoyed grunt as he continued to try to get the door open. In the back seat I could see Constance flickers.
The car pulls up in front of Constance's house and stops. I felt my heart beating faster than ever, I knew what exactly will happen next, but I wasn't there when it happened, so not knowing what she was going to do with me here. I feared the worst. The engine shuts off and so do the lights. Moving my head slightly I turned to look at Sam with fear in my eyes. I could tell Sam saw how I felt and was trying his best to unlock the car. "Don't do this." Sam tried to bargain as Constance flickers, her voice becoming sad. "I can never go home." Constance said looking sadly up at the dark and creepy house.
I thought of what Sam had said and before he could say it I looked into the mirror up at Constance with a look of sadness of my own, I knew she could never go home, and I don't have any clue if I'll be able to go home to my world. "You're scared to go home." I started slowly looking at her with sympathetic eyes. Sam turned to look at me seeing as I was starting to shake with fear and sadness, but before he could say anything Sam glanced back up to see if Constance was still there to see she wasn't there anymore. All of a sudden I was yanked out of the car and I hit the ground on my rear.
I could faintly hear Sam calling out to me before he was soon being smothered by Constance. My head was pounding as I backed away from the car knowing how Sam planned on driving her right into the house. Just as I got myself off the ground I heard heavy footsteps, turning I could see Dean running in a panic over to where I was standing in a somewhat shaky daze.
"Hey, are you alright?" Dean asks his eyes full of concern. My heart fluttered for a second. "Yeah, I'm fine." I pause seeing his concern for his brother. "You should probably go check up on him. I'll be fine here." I finished giving him a thumbs up. He nodded before running into the house where Sam was breathing heavily from driving the car into the house, as well as having Constance's hand's in his chest.
I didn't have to know what was going on next, soon the whole scene played out as I had gotten near the house, I saw Constance being taken away by her children, while Dean was blocked in by a dresser. I walked up after they freed themselves and now Dean was checking out his car checking for dent's or any other issues. Sam watched as I approached seeing he had a concerned look on his face made me feel something weird in my heart, No I wasn't falling for Sam, I just never felt cared about like this before, I mean he could've easily focused on getting rid of Constance. I was shaken out of my thoughts when Dean's pissed off voice caused me to glance away from Sam's concerned one.
"I'll tell you another thing. If you screwed up my car?" Dean twisted around to look at his brother with a stern look. "I'll kill you." Sam let out a laugh, I could feel myself laughing as Dean looked like a toddler who got his toy broken, and now he was out for blood. I could tell it helped relieve the stress and tension after all of that. After making sure his car wasn't damaged he drove out of the house, I got in the back seat while Sam sat up front with Dean. It was quiet in the car as we pulled out of the driveway and back to Sam's college.
We finally arrived back at Sam's apartment just about night. Dean was growing, I knew he didn't want his brother to go back to the normal life that he wished he had, but at the same time he wanted something good for Sam. I watched from the backseat as Sam got out of the car and leaned over to look through the window. "Call me if you find him?" Sam asked with a sad look in his eyes over at his brother.
Dean just nodded as he played with his hands on the steering wheel, I couldn't help but watch. His hands were just very strong and really shaky to be seeing his brother going back to college. I snapped out of watching his hands as Sam glanced over at me. "I hope you can find yourself back home soon Rach, and I'm sorry about how we first started off. But, I hope to see you around." Sam paused as he turned to look over at his brother. "And maybe I can meet up with you later, huh?" Sam finished as he gave his brother a little grin. Dean let out something between a sigh and chuckle, as he turned to look at his brother again.
"Yeah, all right." Dean replied with a nod over at him. Sam pats the car door twice and turns away. Dean leans toward the passenger door, one arm going over the back of the seat. I had a very hard time trying to reach out and take it as he gave his brother a sincere look. "Sam?" Sam turns around to look at his brother with a questioning look. I let out a sad sigh turning to glance out at the darkness seeing nothing, though just a few moments before I could get a better look I swore I saw two glowing yellow eyes. I was focusing hard out into the darkness that I didn't hear Dean's question.
"You coming to join me up here? Or are you gonna stay in the backseat." Dean asks as he chuckles seeing me jump at his sudden question. But before I could reply to his question, Dean's eyes widened as he quickly got out of the car and ran into the building, not even seconds later a boom as a fire exploded from the floor where Sam and Jess stayed. I knew I should've felt some kind of emotion to Jess being killed and Sam would soon turn into his emotions of revenge. It didn't take long for both of them to return, Dean was stoned face, showing no emotions, while Sam was saddened but angry at what had just happened.
Third P.O.V
In a scene much like the beginning of how the show started, a fire truck is parked outside the building, firemen and police keeping back gawkers. Dean looks on, then turns and walks back to his car. Sam is standing behind the open trunk, loading a shotgun. Dean looks at the trunk, then at Sam, whose face is set in a mask of desperate anger. Sam looks up suddenly, then sighs, nods, and tosses the shotgun into the trunk. "We got work to do."
Dean nodded looking over at the tired girl who was watching the firefighters load up the last of their gear, he could tell she was holding back something. The way she would glaze out, or look at him or Sam with an intense look. Letting out a sigh, he knew that she wasn't going to remember who she was right away, and the best way to keep her out of harm's way was to keep her with them.
