Chapter 1
In the bustling metropolis of Saffron City in the Kanto Region, a young trainer prepares for his Pokémon journey. Robert Lucci, an 18 year old, finally receives his Pokémon trainer's license. "I can't wait to begin my adventure," he said with a smile. As he returned home from his appointment, his parents were waiting for him. Robert's mother is a nurse's aide at the Pokémon center and his father was a designer at the Silph Company, the largest company in the region. "Congratulations, son," his father said. "I knew my son was going to pass his test, but now I won't get to see him as much," his mother said holding back tears. "I promise to come visit you." His parents nodded and gave him a huge hug. Robert looked at the large Pikachu clock upon the wall and saw that he needed to get to the Gym. "Oh! I need to get going!" "Don't forget to grab your bag, honey. Robert grabbed the bag that his mother prepared for him and ran out the door to the Pokémon Gym.
Sabrina waited for her friend to arrive. She and Robert had grown up together. She had been named the new Gym Leader recently after passing her trainer's test with the highest score. Robert was right behind her, which didn't surprise her. "I'm going to miss having him around,"she said with a blush. "He said he would be here at noon to pick up his Pokémon. I hope he isn't running late." As she thought this, the door opens to her Gym opened and in walked the new Pokémon Trainer.
Robert walked into the Gym to meet his friend, the new Saffron City Gym Leader. "Hello, Sabrina. I'm sorry for making you wait." "It's okay. I'm ready to give you your first Pokémon." Sabrina handed Robert a Poke ball. "My father said that this Pokémon was to be yours. He said that he bred it from his Alakazam since you were so fascinated by it." Robert's eyes lit up. He wasn't expecting his first Pokémon to be an Abra. "He also wanted me to give you this." It was a note. "Dear Robert, my wife and I are so proud of you and Sabrina. You have both worked so hard to get here. This Abra is yours. I bred it from my Alakazam, so unlike most Abra, it knows Confusion right away. Treat it well and it will become as powerful as mine own was. Wish you luck on your journey! Signed, Trent. PS: Please come and visit your parents and us. I know Sabrina will miss you dearly." "Wow! Totally awesome!" Robert grabbed the Poke ball from Sabrina and finally got to say the words that he was waiting for. "Abra, I choose you!" The Abra appeared in front of him and smiled. "Abra," it said. "Hello, Abra. I'm your trainer. Are you okay with that?" The Abra studied Robert closely and nodded. "I'm so excited!" "Oh! I almost forgot! Professor Oak would like to speak to you." "Wait! THE Professor Oak! The one who's Pokémon Studies I've been reading since I was a child." "Yes. That's the one." "Oh no! I'm not ready. I'm so nervous." "You'll be fine. He's waiting for you on the video caller."
The phone caller rang and the ID said Pallet Town. "There he is. You ready?" Robert nodded and on the screen was one of the most famous people in the world. "Hello there! You must be Robert Lucci, correct?" "Yes, sir. That's me," Robert said nervously. "Don't be so nervous my boy. I just want to congratulate you. I see that you have received your Pokémon." Abra floated up behind his trainer and grinned at the Professor. "I actually wanted to ask you something. Are you thinking about taking the Gym Challenge?" "I actually was. I want to see if I could become the Pokémon Champion." "Excellent, my boy. I will be looking forward to seeing you soon." "Wait. What do you mean?" "I'm actually sending a helicopter to pick you up. All Pokémon trainers need a Pokedex. I will be giving all first year trainers one tomorrow." "WOW! I get to meet one of my idols! This is amazing." "Get some rest. Your Pokémon journey will officially start tomorrow."
In her Hall of Origins, the mother and creator of the world looked on. "My Chosen One. Your life is about to change forever."
