DM The Mrs Clause Chapter 1
It was Christmas at the AVL and all of the agents were having a break from their hard efforts of all their work. Soon enough everything was interrupted when the music stopped. Silas Ramsbottom entered the stage. "Thank you very much!" he boomed. "This was a team effort. I just wanna thank all of you individually!"
Just then Valerie Da Vinci approached the stage. "We don't have time for that!" she grumbled. "But our families aren't with us right now! Get your butts out of here!" she told the agents impatiently. "Have a great party," Silas said. "Have a great year. Drive safely. Thank you all very much."
Later, Lucy was on her way home. As she drove, she saw other children with their families spending their Christmas. They looked thorough a toy shop window. Lucy heard a lot of them singing Christmas carols. She carefully drove slowly on the icy road, making sure there won't be an accident.
Lucy arrived home in good time. Margo, Edith and Agnes were playing in the snow, playing snowball fights and building a snowman. "Hi, girls!" Lucy called cheerfully to her daughters. "Mom!" shouted Margo, Edith and Agnes all together as they rush over to hug their adoptive mother.
"How was work?" Margo asked. "Did you kicked evil's butt?" Edith boasted. "Any villains been caught?" Agnes wanted to know. "Neither of those!" Lucy laughed. Later on, Edith said, "There aren't that many presents over there!" "That's because Santa isn't here yet, sweetie," Lucy pointed out. "Stan always believes in Santa," Edith said. "Stan's head comes to a point," said Lucy. "He's smart, he's a doctor," said Edith. "He's not a doctor. He's a psychiatrist," Lucy corrected. "Stan diagnosed Margo with PTSD which causes her to have nightmares and get scared more easily than most people her age. So Margo has Imagery Rehearsal Therapy to help her cope."
Just then Gru walked in. "Lucy! Girls! Come on! Our Christmas meal is on de table!" he called. The family sat down to eat. Suddenly, black smoke came from the oven. ''Something's burning!'' shouted Lucy. She quickly got up and raced toward the oven, putting on pair of oven gloves.
Lucy took the turkey out of the oven letting out a cloud of smoke and a blast of fire! Lucy grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed the burning turkey. That caused even more clouds of smoke to go everywhere. Gru opened the windows to let the smoke out before it filled the kitchen.
When the smoke cleared, Lucy saw the burnt turkey now all black and solid. ''Now what are we gonna eat?'' she groaned. "How 'bout we go out for something to eat?" Margo suggested. The others looked at her. Where?'' Lucy asked. Later that evening they went to Pooh Burger for Christmas dinner.
''Hey! dis ain't so bad'' said Gru in surprise. "Yup," Margo winked. ''Hey! look!'' said Edith, ''I got a Santa Pooh toy with my meal!''. "And they got an Eeyore reindeer!" squealed Agnes.
''What did you get Margo?'' Edith asked. "A Tigger Elf!" Margo exclaimed, when she pulled out a meal figure of Tigger dressed like an elf. Edith pulled out a little piece of paper. ''This shows the complete set of these toys! Let's see if we can get more of these next time we come to Pooh Burger!''.
She held it out for her sisters to see. Later that night Lucy read the girls a story of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas." to the girls before bedtime. Later on that night, Margo was asleep when she was awoken by a loud clatter noise. THUMP! Margo shot up in bed with a jolt in terror.
Edith, Agnes, Lucky and Blondie are still asleep. She tiptoed quietly out of the room in her bare feet and into the dark corridor. She went into her parent's room and shook Lucy. "Mom!" she whispered loudly. "Mom!". ''What?'' asked Lucy, sleepily. "I heard a clatter!" Margo hesitated.
"What clatter?" mumbled Lucy. ''It's coming from outside!'' said Margo.
"It's just the wind, Margo," Lucy snorted. "Go back to bed". Suddenly, there was another loud clatter. That made Lucy snap awake. ''Someone's on the roof!'' she gasped. Lucy got out of bed and rushed through the door in her bare feet as Margo followed behind. ''Is it Santa?'' Margo asked.
"Not now, Margo," Lucy said as she picked up her daughter and gently put her down on the crocodile couch when they were in the living room after they got downstairs. "OK, listen, I want you to stay here until I get back".
Lucy put on her coat and snow boots and went out the front door and looked up at the roof. "HEY YOU!" she shouted. A giant figure slid down from the roof in surprise and landed on the ground in front of her. THUD! Lucy got a closer look. She careened closer over the figure. "Hello?". Lucy gave the lifeless body a gentle kick. "Excuse me, sir! Or madam!".
There was no response. Just then Margo came out. ''You got him!'' she cried. "Margo!" Lucy complained. "I told you to wait inside!". Margo paid no attention. ''It is Santa!'' she cried, ''Mom you killed him!''. Lucy's eyes widen. "What?! Killed?" she repeated awkwardly. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no!". She pulled a card from under the red suit.
If something should happen to me, put on my suit. The reindeer will know what to do.
The note simply said. Just then, Lucy and Margo heard moaning and groaning. They looked up and saw a sleigh and some reindeer on the roof. Lucy's jaw dropped, disbelieved. ''Mom!'' said Margo, ''He disappeared!''. Lucy and Margo looked at the empty clothes. "Huh. Poor guy. He must be naked somewhere," Lucy added mysteriously.
Suddenly she walked right into a ladder that had appeared out of nowhere and bumped her head. CLANG! "Ogh!" Lucy groaned, ''Where did this ladder come from?''.
